12mm is too much for such. Go for 10/8mm.
Some do use quarter rods too.

Can I do without rods for coooing if the fence have casted pillars already? Between I saw your number is watsapp. Thanks

Do I really need a 12mm rod for fence coping? Am struggling to understand why am told is needed just to mount a barb wire..

As for architects recommendation, I can only recommend Advanced Baba Lati Design Studio (we handle all our designs in-house).

I don’t draw. I conceptualize designs and check drawings and interface between clients and my extremely rigid professionals who always feel like they knew all the client need.

95% of our proposed designs get built.

There are many things we cannot share online but I have a building that does not have a single burglary in the ghetto part of Nigeria and it has been in existence for almost 10 years.

It’s not burglar proofs that protect us. Just be good to the people around you!

Can you share the picture? If you can't can you send me the address privately? so I can look it up on Google earth, if that building exist in a ghetto I will come back here and testify.

In 2014, a contemporary lover approached NextHome to remodel some old shops into something modern that’ll also attract higher returns.

As a baba lati who’s always looking at giving value on every project, I designed a floor-to-ceiling glass shops for the client. The rental rate went up astronomically

It’s 6 years after this project has been executed in the Nigeria that is still developing. The shops has never been vacant for once and I’m 100% confident the client would have recouped his investment within the first 3 years.

Lastly, I’ve not heard reports of break-ins.

We don't need glass house bungalows or shops in Nigeria yet, even in the US where 911 call is very effective, glass shops are shattered during any unrest not to talk of Nigeria that doesn't have police. What we need here is iron gates, burglary and protected ceilings.

I saw a rain and breeze that blew on Monday along badagry express way that destroys house roofings and a newly roofed Gerrard. The breeze broke the middle of the roofing wood and destroyed everything thank God he did built-in parapet if not, all will fall with the roofing.

Mine is yet to come down... It saw that same wind u saw on Monday. Did you wonder why some of the roofs in that area wasn't blown away?

there is no how precast will last longer. Precast is to save cost and join the parapet crew. If one can't afford the casting on the building, they should just leave parapets.

I don't even listen to anyone telling me to cast, I'll do my precast and use the extra money saved for something else. Parapet is just for fancy, precast achieves that.

Well, they are two different methods which aims to achieve two different results.

Building a fence with vertical or horizontal pillars along the fence lines is usually done to strengthen the fence and prevent cracks that might occur due to settlement or physical pressure from objects or even flooding. This type of fence is usually more difficult to break into, but it has a major design flaw, in the event of failure (if anything makes the fence to fall) the whole fence can fall since segments are usually linked with each other through pillars or beams.

The fence pictured above are done with block pillars, block pillars may be less strong, but it provides a good advantage, a segment of the fence can fall but the other segments will be standing strong. In this site, I have an old fence which i cannot trust its strength over the years, soni am using block pillars to build the fence, since i will use concrete to cast the top before putting fence electric wires. Besides, we are using the 6" solid blocks which are way stronger than the hollow blocks used in some builds.
I had to knock down the old fence to rebuild them when I found out that some old segments were weak.

Yes.. the ideas is really not to like it. Contemporary builds are meant to be comfortable and welcoming without being busy, cluttered and loud. Unlike traditional architectures, the interiors of contemporary builds tend to showcase space rather than things.

Seriously!!!! The idea isn't to like it? . I want to be able to like where I live except if for some reason am not able to afford what I like then I can do with what I can afford but again we all have our choices and am sure Don Jazzy love this one.

If Adekunle Fajuyi Cenotaph was in Europe or USA we will spend hundred of thousands to see it, unfortunately we don't promote our own like the western world do.

Those solar panels on our roofing sheets are useless without those batteries. Battery is a key component in modern building and more friendly to earth.

He should just alter his post and remove the auto battery and replace it with solar battery, it's as good as someone advertising CCTV here that also need a backup power supply incase NEPA take light.

So sorry to hear your unfortunate situation. This is the same guy that used to go by hsl-broker here. He stole from me and thought he could hide from me. I made him vomit my money with interest and got him kicked off nairaland. He never learned from the past. I told him that i would make sure that he won't find another victim here again. He found another platform to defraud people. Ne3t, please do not promote this guy again.

Kobicity should learn from this, weather it turns out good or sour, if you verify anybody you should take some responsibility for their good or bad decisions except you state it on your site saying you don't take responsibility of verified suppliers/contractors.
