Hello Nairalanders,
I have been reading this thread for 2 days and i decided to join i never knew this place is so informative, my case was just like Afams but i missed my interview for August 3rd and i have re schedule another one and also deferred my admission to the spring semester 2010 but i was advised by the director of international programs to start online schooling for the fall semester which i have enrolled in. My questions are:
1. is this going to boost my chases of a visa
2. i am planning on taking my dad as my sponsor
3. my mum filed for me and i dont want to claim that  she did
please i need help

Better focus on the spring 2010 semester and u should knw that u can't appear @ d embassy until 120 to 30 days before d program start date.
Secondly,taking your dad/mum as sponsor is d best(as far as they r concern) so long as u can defend and/or justify their earnings with concrete evidence n this will improve ur chances.
Concerning the application ur mum filed for u,hmmmm,  I hv no idea of wat d consequence of telling them ur mum filed for u will be. But I strongly believe dat with God on your side,no matter wat,telling them ur mum filed for u or not, u will be GRANTED visa

Fact whether we like it or not, The US is still the "Numero Uno" nation on earth, militarily, financially and any other wise. As i said I am not a very great Fan of the US, but i would prefer to deal with the US than China, who do not care about anything other than their narrow parochial interest. I even trust the US than Britain or France.

In this world you have to be humble, diplomatic, astute, and relevant to succeed, either as an individual or a country. That is why the Israelis are always on the side of every world power the world had ever produced, they humble themself.

Our politicians, footballers, professionals, religious leaders, everybody needs to be humble.

Delta,Benin,Edo,Bayelsa, and the Yorubas all together are bigger than any other nation in west Africa.If you want Benin to be big,why not suggest Togo and Benin become a republic since they are both small countries that together will not even be as big as the Yorubaland and are both French?Instead of this your rubbish about Nigerian states.

i'm really sorry for the harrowing experiences u all are going thru while trying to get sweden student visa u all should have looked b4 u leap. I know sweden is a nice place but their visa requirements is too expensive and rigid for a student. Frankly speaking if you know you are not a millionaire or don't have one to back you please don't apply for university study in sweden. in my honest opinion, if i have the money let's say N1.5m to N2m and i want to study in tuition-free universities in the scandinivian i would rather choose Norway. Why? In norway you don't need up to N2.5m at most in your coffer b4 you would be granted visa for study. You don't need to wait for several weeks for visa, it only take two weeks(more or less) b4 u receive visa reply, you have also the chance of obtaining a parmanent resident permit after staying there for a year and especially if your academic performance is good but in sweden the verse is the case, instead you will be sent back immediately you complete your studies. I do not wish to blackmail sweden or discourage anyone who wish to study there i.e if you have the money. I agree sweden is good but i feel norway is better name any reason.

Note - norway don't require TOEFL, unlike finland.

Sincerely ,i'm speechless cos my elder sister is in this kind of situation but hers is a lil bit different from yours in that she was warned seriously after being given prophecy b4 going into the marriage but she kept saying time wasnt on her side and now she is regretting for taking such steps.You can have everything in life that you want if you will just help enough other people to get what they want.
