@uj I have one story to type for you, let me go and find food first I'm coming. |
ihedinobi2: Netotse. Good one. Thanks.Good point, the discussions help no doubt, the difficult part is knowing when to stop. ihedinobi2: Second. Sometimes it may be necessary to appear to pick a side to enable another person see just how far out they're leaning. As you said here, it seemed that the focus was on women and how they should dress. Yes it was. Even the Bible spoke exclusively to women on the matter. It does not mean that men have no responsibility to dress modestly as well, it is merely compensation. Some of us are more prone to some things than others. In this case, the more vulnerable ones are men. Therefore Scripture focuses on women in order to help men. Both parties have responsibilities, focusing only on the other party's side will only cause them to dig trenches. I'd rather look at things from the perspective of your right hand causing you to sin and the responsibility you have to cut it off(as a Christian). Modesty in dress and behaviour cannot be limited to women. |
Hey guys, There is a common theme running through this thread that I think we need to do away with. The idea that for me to be right, the other party must be wrong, things simply dont work that way. There are people that dress provocatively and they know this(in a fair number of cases). This is wrong, simple and short! There are men that are unable to control themselves, equally simple and even shorter sef! Now in the context of this thread: As christians we are to be guided by the bible and the bible condemns both the men that lack self control and women that dress to tempt. C'est fini. Where is the problem here? If you dress and your conscience is clear (clear conscience is worlds apart from "I dont care" or "it's not my business if he cant control himself" ) then as a christian you're good to go. If your conscience isnt clear...the matter is between you and God. Wait sef, why are we focusing on girls sef? Guys tempt girls too na, I mean only Uj has admitted to being tempted by hairy legs(uj chop knuckle jare, nothing do you ).This is the christians chatbox not the lawyers/philosophers hangout spot...let's not long the thing. |
nitrogen:let's be honest, this thread didnt lose much. Things arent the same. @thread Not on good terms with the french guys in my office so I wont ribbed about naija losing thankfully...lol I'm even on leave now sef...will try and post what's been going on at end. |
yetsey: Fact is most men do not resepect women again simply because we ve spoilt themso true...see finish has set in. |
texanomaly: Great profile pic! Thanks, it's from time magazine, he's a worker in a goldmine in botswana...I think |
Hi everyone, Posting here so I can remember to visit again. Looking for user-friendly places to hangout on Nl. |
Mrval20: I've been reading this post from the day it was created (yes, from 2009), and ALL my questions have been answered! Special thanks to Mr Ajanlekoko, Netotse, Oyb, Wallie, Lekside, Naijababe and everyone who has contributed constructively. God bless you all. I'm in my final year, going for power option..eventually things will get better, but in the short term I dont think it will change soooo much, there's still a lot to be done especially as concerns the financial part of the privatization. Send me a nairaland PM and I'll reply via email. |
@mynd Lmao...didnt know you had it in you...you have loverboy tendencies o...lol |
tayo_ast: Saw episodes 7 and 8 last night.Guy where you bin see am to watch? |
aryzgreat: Counting d days, my mind is telling me dis job wil be a hot cake in d nearest future, former NNPC MD has just been appointed to head TCN. This is a gud news. I believe d new head wil look into our remuneration and make it be like NNPC.pipe dream of the highest order...it appears you don't understand the power sector well enough. As an engineer It's important you are able to see the big picture so you can position yourself, TCN can be a funny place to work. @He is alive it's your choice...best of luck ![]() |
@those saying Sanusi didnt do sh*t you have to admit he has been able to get a grip on inflation, plus his stunt with the CRR is helping to reign in banks and their crazy profits. I agree, TOE shouldnt be abywhere near CBN, I'd go with either Sarah Alade or Aig... |
He is alive: Good morning everybody. As we draw closer to our resumption day, I found out that it is very essential to have a secure forum PURELY FOR THE APPOINTED ENGINEERS by TCN where sincere information and technical know-how would be exchanged by the members: which some people had clamored for in the past.Pardon me, are you implying that people that arent imployed by TCN dont have any information or technical knowhow you guys might find useful? Take my advice for it, you would be better served opening a new thread on NL and naming it 'transmission engineers corner' or something...the best engineers are those that freely share knowledge. |
just watched episode 4...I'm definitely hooked on this series...lol |
yetseyi: I was actually wondering why a bro would send a married bro to do part of the talking for him and he still wants to be anonymous.lol...so people still do stuff like this? I think any lady that respects herself should insist that the bros comes to talk with his own mouth. Being a christian means you have freedom in Christ to be soooo much more, any body that uses Christianity as an excuse to slack is a learner...lol |
cdamsel: sorry it went to junk mailseen it... |
cdamsel: sending u a pm right a wayreplied...I'm on standby |
@KD, ID and all the others can I still donate? someone should PM me how I can go about it. |
Abali1: Let him slump and die naw. Why will anyone come to my house and lay his or her hand on me?Guy...I dont care about the guy, he was totally wrong to have slapped the babe, I agree the OPs sister needs to be careful as he would probably batter her if she points at him too. that said...OP clearly has anger management issues, I'm surprised a lot of people seem to think she is blameless in this matter tbh it's impressive she was honest enough to tell us what actually happened. |
chaircover: But seriously that man should be watchedGod forbid what will she say if when she hit him with the kettle he slumped and died. Both parties were wrong in this case, it's all too simple to dress the woman up as a victim. |
@thread the BIL should not have laid his hand on OP, he has no right whatsoever. that said, OP comes across as rude to me: she told the sis she has started something and should be prepared to finish it, isn't that a petty statement?(we all make such statements, I know...doesn't make it right) She said she didn't know when she started moving towards BIL, if that isn't a provocation, what is? everyone knows those rude girls that stand in your face and shout at you, what are they asking for? love and affection? (once again BIL was wrong to have slapped her). OP wants us to tell her BIL was wrong and castigate him all the while ignoring the fact that she contributed her fair share to the whole scenario...rubbish and nonsense. @OP be the bigger person, apologize for the part you played in the mess(I did not say for being beaten) then stay away from them. |
hey pple, This thread has been largely abandoned, I've contributed to that I cant lie...lol. Wrote a certification exam with SON(standards org of nigeria) on friday and that exam was tough o...no amount of cramming could have saved you if you didn't understand the principles, their staff were professional, friendly and competent (even though they veered off-point a couple of times during the training). I wont lie, I thought it would be a biz as usual exam so I had crammed the relevant standards (you need to see the mnemonics I used mennnn), hopefully I should pass sha *fingers crossed*. On the work side, life outside of maintenance has not been easy o...I no longer work crazy hours but my stress levels have not improved and then the politics involved in this role dey tire me, I'm by far the most junior person out of the people I have to deal with most of the time so persuasion is the most powerful tool available to me(I'm kinda used to browbeating people...lol), I am trying to improve on my communication skills though we'll see how that goes...lol. |
Chriscj: Please i need your advice. I'm through with my HND in Electrical Engineering(power option), between DE and PGD which is better?PGD, you already have a HND why go back to start in year two because you want a Bsc? A PGD is shorter plus you might even be able to work part time sef...my two cents |
@OP Nice thread...I agree there's no point being unnecessarily close with females, too many complications |
hey pple, This link is for the person asking for the Ruroni Kenshin Anime, someone most likely have it at this event |

Somehow I cant remember being this tense/stressed when I was in maintenance, I need to go on leave soon o...need to take time to adjust properly. I can feel the hawks begining to circle...lol. |
