Stillfire:A girl once did it this with me and my friend, she was like "you guys should continue your gist, I'll seat at the back". It made me appreciate her more, she didn't feel threatened or anything. I'm pretty certain the missus would toe this part if it came to that(that being me gisting with my guy). |
stinggy:This your post no clear bros...who is supposed to seat in front?...lol. Omo, if the girl is anything other than bushmeat she gets the front seat easily, it's just a seat abeg, no one in his right senses should be dragging position with his friends significant other, y'all have different purposes in his life. your relationship with your guy should be more than all that. I think it happens when guys have macho ideas about how homies should "roll" in their heads. |
bukatyne:Equity is ideal, it speaks to understanding, to strive for equity you must first understand and then accept your strengths and weaknesses. When you fight for equality you refuse to take said strength and weaknesses into consideration. Men and women are not the same, that women cannot do some things as well as men can do them does not make them any less important or valuable, that's equity. Equality is what a man can do, a woman can do too, irregardless of whether it's clearly a lost battle or not. |
@Naijababe they are still there o...you know how they say empty vessels make the most noise. If you're busy with life you're not likely to have the time to engage in all the bickering that goes on. It's easy to assume they've gone extinct because all you can see are the noisemakers but as a number of people have mentioned on this thread, you attract what you are. You shouldn't be looking for strong men in the midst of noisemakers, things don't work that way. |
kensto:I'm curious, how do you plan to get fuel to power all the generating stations? The siting of a generating station is based on several factors two most important ones are how you plan to evacuate the power generated and choice of fuel. Your idea though good isn't economically feasible |
AjanleKoko:Just seeing this thread, how on earth did I miss it? I'm on the personal track...Chose where I am, schemed my way into my current role and I seem to be doing well. I have a bit of a first movers advantage since i started doing what I do before it became popular. I have a bit more visibility in my organization and it worries me sometimes because there's a lot expected of me and I fear one day I will be exposed as not being as competent as I appear. If I can up my game a bit fast track is sure. On the biz side, there was a rightsizing 2 years back and it made me realize how silly it is to depend on just one stream of income so I'm trying to develop other streams, got my fingers burnt once but I'm still in the grind. I used to worry since I don't earn as much as some of my colleagues despite all the effort I've put in but these days I barely even think about stuff like that. |
Chairmen...my enemies are at work...lol https://www.nairaland.com/1950807/8-tips-plan-perfect-marriage#27167876 if the above is how proposals are meant to go I will get F9. which one is photographer? are we acting movie? which one is inviting family and friends? is it them I want to marry or the babe herself? which one is music? see what disney and all them romantic comedies have caused P.S. all this is annoying me because I saw a picture in her gallery with 6 rules for proposal and it had similar stuff...cant a fellow be anti-social in peace? |
On the Keshi issue, I agree he needs to go...I dont think there's anything particularly special about him besides his being a Nigerian. Let's look for other Nigerians to develop and fill the role. If it means getting a foreign coach for a couple of years so be it. |
pickabeau1:yep, I meant lower oil prices, mea culpa. Me I just want to make sure I'm on the right side of the curve. @Royalroy I'm not an economist o...I just like to be one step ahead of the curve. You're right though we're a tough bunch. I was just joking on the football thing o...football is an important part of who we are. @Dbestmax I dont think the issue warrants a thread, an increase in vandalism would cause oil prices to increase if anything(depends on the scale though). If there's some angle I cant see I'd be more than happy to learn from you. ![]() |
pickabeau1:I've not being following it either but following oil prices are a must o...you can use them to estimate the general direction the country/economy will take. Higher oil prices will mean a decrease in govt spending, this will mean a general absence of cash and this could lead to unrest in certain places as the boys will be broke.(Lagos is an outlier, there's a substantial amount of private money flowing there). The fact that elections are around the corner doesn't make things look any better for the Nigerian economy...I tire for our case. Dbestmax:Bros, I will hand my pension over to you(the thing kuku no plenty ) if you can relate the falling oil prices to pipeline vandalism...no jokes! |
pickabeau1:oil is going to $70 per barrel and you guys are still watching grown men chase a rubber sphere up and down...shm ![]() For real though, I'm worried about this continued drop in oil prices...men need to start earning more to survive in this Nigeria. |
pickabeau1:nah...my love for football died when Italy beat Nigeria at USA '94. I'm a non practising arsenal fan though ![]() |
pickabeau1:abeg wetin be hair dryer? some form punishment? |
@Bukatyne Dont most females have two rings? one for engagement and the main one you exchange on the wedding day na abi another one dey? I'm not a fan of social media and the likes so anything flashy is out of the question, for me it should be a private and intimate something...which one come be all the paparazzi that people now form these days? even all these story that people put on bella naija and the likes sey dem dey give them money ni? As a colleague who recently got married used to joke that he'd rather give the babe all the money he was spending than go through all that stress...lol |
@Aluta and Nash I tire o...even that one month sef...I still dey reason am, so them go pay me salary one month and I go just carry the money go buy ring...ontop wetin na? The kneeling down part I get...pictures of the act...hell no! Oya...my seniors in the biz...make una come begin dey cast una selves one by one...how did you propose? TV01 , pickabeau1, Nashville, bellong. Ladies, how did your oga propose? |
Chairmen dem...maximum hailings! you guys should come and help me o...what is the purpose of a proposal? is it not to tell a girl you want to marry her ni? do I necessarily have to buy a ring and go down on one knee? what if I have arthritis nko? ![]() If you ask me, once you determine that you're willing to spend the rest of your life with someone and communicate same to the person, you're as good as engaged, or am I missing something? One of my lunatic friends said you should spend 3 months salary on engagement ring (the joker is obviously not close to getting married...lol). If you see as my mind just dey do the maths as im dey misyarn ehn...smh. |
DatechMan: I am an FME with a Teleco coy. I manage close to 40 sites. with about 5 ISM Mech. Technicians, 3 Elect Technicians, 2 Power Engineers, etcif you feel you're good enough why dont you wait a bit and look for a good time to ask your supervisor for feedback, why weren't you offered a full role is there anyway you're not meeting expectations? are there some character traits they dont like? approach is key o...if you dont have good people skills you can bungle the conversation. Last thing you want to do is sound like you have a chip on your shoulder. Most importantly, you need to ensure you add value to the company, is there anything you do that the next person cant do as well as you do? are you a go-to person in your area? it's not enough that you do your job, you need to have a clear edge. |
jhimmy: I was angry and fed up...I get your point, fact is, that isn't enough reason...when you blow your lid you allow the other party to shift the goal post, it (the issue at stake) can become about your being rude, immature, emotional, lacking-self-control etc. you take your pic...all these things do damage to your professional reputation. It's better you find another way to vent rather than damage your credibility while you're at it. It never is really worth it in the long run. If you were as good as you say you were and you resigned without insulting anyone they possibly would have called you back and it would be you deciding whether or not you want to work with them on YOUR terms, but now you dont have that luxury of choice neither do you have them as a reference. |
jhimmy: My Career experience.. (sorry my sentence construction might be poor "I aint a word kinda dude" )I dont agree with the bolded, it's never okay to be rude and insultive, not for any reason. You can get angry, but dont take this route, you'll lose more than you stand to gain. Apart from that I agree with your post, you shouldn't let anyone take your for a ride. As a professional you should know your worth. |
Same reason as strobe now...rapidly flashing lights can cause seizures |
jmaine: Thank you for clearing all doubts, I asked gists a very valid question to come to a logical conclusion on the subject matter.hey, thought you might want to know, as part of this NNPC strike, NGC has shut off gas supply to it's customers so you should expect lousy electricity supply until the issue is resolved. |
bonetalk: ok, i will back it up with picture(s) tommorrow, coz i may not be able to explain to u well,Hey... Waiting for the pic... I'm curious, when you post it, can you also tell me if the staff quarters had(or has) light this evening (tuesday)...I want to confirm something. |
bonetalk: that's a big lie, both the community and the Afe building uses thesame transformer but there is a manipulation that was done on the transformer, that makes afe building and a block industry belonging to ex-director(Engineer Olateju) of works and maintenance dept of abuad(belonging to afe babalola) to be enjoying the power supply at the expense of the host community , my house is just few metres to the afe building,Hi Bonetalk, it's possible(and surprisingly very easy) to restrict supply to the community but it wont be at the transformer, there would have to be isolators installed. I'm curious, what's your stand on the matter? Do you think attacking Afe was warranted? |
MissMeiya: Because no one ever lies in Nigeria, right?if you have a single gen powering a small estate is it everywhere on the estate you would hear the gen? the article says it's a staff quarters, you would get a 500KVA generator and switch it on from 6pm to 6am everyday, I know it's possible because we've done it before where I work. You want to make your staff as comfy as possible. BTW, I'm not saying it's not possible for them to be bribing TCN. My point is, your conclusion was hasty. |
r231: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=859602194051030&id=100000037710216I feel irritated just watching this video, sad thing is the language sounds familiar... |
MissMeiya: SUNDAY PUNCHgathered that the students were angry that while they had been without electricity for over a month, a hostel for the junior staff of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, in the same area enjoyed power supply.did you read the part where the school said the hostel was being run by generator? |
timijohnston: Hello guys....which people are the best? The ones on this thread or on the 5 other threads you pasted the exact same message? I would have analyzed(is it analysed? What's the difference sef? ) how much of a learner you are but then that would be me taking out my frustrations on you and that's not proper. Safe! |
tnktosin: IssoraiJehovah...when will I get paid to be a nuisance on social media...smh |
naijababe: E vex me dieyou haven't been to any of them spots in a while have you? Inflation has hammered the amala down to size...lol. |
jmaine: UPZ I'm 100% sure of, if NB uses gas in the SW the they would in some way. @gists it depends on which pipeline is vandalised, e.g. the news article that was pasted somewhere on this thread about ELPS being vandalised last year, that's one of the worst times I've experiemced, both private and public companies were affected. I'm aware NGC declared a force majeure on gas supplies to all customers feeding off ELPS in any way(PZ woulda been included, also the west african gas pipeline was affected). Why people wont notice is that these smaller consumers (industry) can resort to alternatives like diesel et al. P.S. you should read some of the reviews of dangotes half year result and see what low gas availability did to his profits, also check out how much he plans to spend on coal. |
jmaine: You sound like an active participant in the power sector. I will like to be hearing more from you as an insider whether it is for or against the government of the day . . . .Yep I am, I've been on both sides (public and private), I've spent some time around a hydro plant before but these days gas run plants tend to be more my thing. I see a bit of coal in my future too but you never know .Feel free to ask questions, as long as it doesn't involve politics I'd be happy to try and answer. |
Obiagelli: You should tell this to the power minister. I am a farmer, all i care about is results, but the minister telling blatant lies about sabotage by the opposition to cover up is totally unacceptable.Really?link please! I wouldn't expect him to make such statements. It's the politicians that run their mouths, he isn't one AFAIK. Well we haven't had any incidents due to vandalism, thank goodness! Be that as it may, there have still been times where gas had to be rationed as recently as June. |
