@bighead. . . thanks, will do. . .reported your posts to the moderators, let's see what happens by tomorrow they should be untagged by then. as per your question, i think applying now will be in your favour, well before the deadline starts drawing near. |
also, can you give me a link to the stuff you used for your verbal? the audio recordings especially |
@bighead dont try posting it again, it's the spambot. . .posting it multiple times could earn you a ban. . .chill for the moderator to untag the posts |

5430 @jamace just give me time, i'm coming for you |
AjanleKoko: debosky:er'one knows it's going to be quite a while before NITEL can compete with anyone, i dont think any serious investor would be willing to tie down such a large amount of money for a long time. . .abi na people wey don thief our money wey wan bring am back in? cos those are the only people i can think of that would be willing to tie down large sums in naija without hope of profits in the short - medium term @Debosky the process was completed in February and it's in November they're asking you to pay your deposit, if na me i for don delete the files from my computer tay tay @Jcob Longtime. . .for me, it's stocks hands down(at least for where we're at now). . .i remember when i first started following the stockmarket, i was in SS2 and Nestle was 60naira (that was more than 10 years ago), now it's 400naira. Do the Buffet-thingy, buy in a company that'll stand the test of time. I think the term 'penny stock' was overused in naija. . .me i got out of the market fast back then o. . .boys just did not have the money to tie down. . . |
@benom if you could also get an affidavit from your sponsor with him stating that he is related to you and that he has agreed to bear the costs of your degree, that might help. |
Sanusi has a right as a nigerian to comment on issues that affect nigeria, his position as CBN governor does not detract from that. I think it's laudable that he would comment on issues despite being part of the elite. . .how many people in positions of authority can come out and say what they really feel? most of them shut up, take money and sell/silence their consciences in the name of 'sensitive positions'. As long is it cant be proven that his job is being affected aversely the man should go on soun jo! |
@yodiyokun and tkb pumping and wanajo are both moderators at stockmarket nigeria haven't seen all the others there but i know most people were members of that site in addition to New Nigerians. as per the stockmart, with the reforms that are in the pipeline things should pick up, i'm talking about volume though, it'll take a while for the values of the stocks to reach those levels. @thread i'm trying to find out if new generation was able to meet the deadline for the NITEL meinene. . .does anyone know yet? also, can someone explain to me why companies tend to wait for the deadline before paying? what's wrong with paying a day or two before the deadline elapses? or is it that difficult to get the money together? |
chika4real:i couldn't agree more with you. anyone reading that article cannot but get caught up in the optimism that the writer expresses, and then you realise that this was some 45 years ago and we're nowhere near where we should be and it begs the question. . .where did we go wrong? |
ok. . .i'm finally here. . .still trying to get to the spot though, this yeye thing sucks terribly |
AjanleKoko:as per the strike newspapers say 10th, i'm suspecting government will settle them before then though. . .as for the plant, a total shut down for 8days then partial shutdown and post shutdown work for 25days, the plant supplies enough gas to power 1000+MWs, govt says they have put plans in place but i'm skeptical. tkb417:they were on new nigerians, but since the market went south everyone has cooled down, samstone(the guy that liked transcorp) used to keep the place alive but since early october the place has gone dead. i'll check their other haunts, i'll holler if i find them. |
@tkb if them pumping777, frankiriri, wanajo, aktopgun etc come back to NL i swear i'll give a testimony. . . @thread oga isn't around, so everyone is doing their mind , the driver strolled in at 10.30 this morning. . .the kind boredom wey dey do me no get part 2. If this continues, i go begin dey pray make them vandalize something o. . .make boys see work do .this is a heads up, utorogu gas plant is going to be shut down for upgrading tomorrow, if you dont have fuel for your generators, better go and buy, especially with the NLC warning strike and possible NUPENG strikes coming up. . . |
@kobo when you make a claim, you are under obligation to support it with facts, not so? in 2001 the budget was less than 1trillion, that alone means that your statement is false. . .that's what i was getting at. do you have any idea what it would mean for govt to spend 1trillion on generators every year? you shouldn't make such statements lightly. . . as per the solar thingy, there are no parts that would require maintenance. . .finito |
Kobojunkie:do you have any idea what our budget was this year? or indeed for the last 12 years?humour me, please back up your claim with facts/figures Kobojunkie:this is the sequence of events ileke idi mentioned something about maintenace costs affecting the viability i disagreed with her and told her why you told me i was wrong, i told you why i thought i was right and asked you how exactly i was wrong you still haven't been able to tell me in concrete terms what makes me wrong. . . p.s. you misused the word tubine, that's why i said you were skewing things. |
firestar:may the good Lord have mercy on you. . .*crossing myself* |
Kobojunkie:as per the bolded from where to where? stop skewing things abegas per the solar thing, you're talking like all those people that use english to do all their engineering, the question i asked you was simple enough, apart from the solar panels, what other part of the solar set up will require maintenance. . .that's the only question i asked you and you haven't answered it up till now you're making claims i dont understand in a field i have interest in, so i should just accept your word as law nii? |
@kobojunkie i cant remember if we've had this discussion before, but would you care to tell us how solar is a better option than the gas turbines et al? i know quite a bit about solar installation and i'm asking you what parts you're talking about that would require maintenance, oyb came and told us batteries. . .but you keep alluding to this 24 hours thing. you're starting to remind me of Afam. i wish you could see things from my side, you're dancing round the issue, it wouldn't be a crime if you said you dont really understand, afterall you dont work with them. anyways, you dont have to answer anymore, i realise i might be fussing, i'm a technical person that's all. i'll get the list and pass it on to you, there's only one american manufacturer on it if i remember correctly, the ECN gives out a lot of solar projects every year so if your panels are cheaper you could do a bit of biz with the contractors |
chic2pimp:i thought it was electricity engineering he read? |
Kobojunkie:my interest in the matter is strictly professional, i'm wondering what maintenance could cast doubts as regards the viability of the project, you haven't given me any answers, each time you've alluded to the fact that it's a 24 hour meinene how does that affect things? I know exactly what a 24 hour solar meinene requires, we(the company i work for) have executed a modest number of solar projects in nigeria so i'm far from clueless when it comes to solar power, (i'm not in renewable energy sha, even though i follow what they do). please let me know as soon as it's done. . . P.S. the energy commission of nigeria has a list of panel manufacturers/brand it recommends, while the list is only binding on it's contractors you might benefit from knowing them, i could get the list for you on monday if you're interested |
Kobojunkie:you're not telling me what the maintenance is o, a colleague of mine works with solar panels so in addition to having an interest with them i'm very familiar with how they work. . .you wouldn't be going over my head if you expatiated on the maintenance to me. . . ![]() congrats. . .do you have a website or address, might be looking to buy panels soon |
Kobojunkie:what sort of maintenance would it need? since it's solar, the panels will need to be cleaned twice or thrice a year, LED bulbs dont need to be changed as often as incandescent ones. . .or is there something i'm missing? in nigeria we like inductive loads and solar panels just dont do well in that area. . . P.S. how far that your solar-biz thingy? |
That's not only my worry, but also how the SP will be maintained. Ekiti is poor economically, so I'll also be closely watching where Fayemi gets the money . I'm just surprised that despite the fact that we don't get much electricity/light in school, it never bothered our progress in education sect. So imagine how this new method will help us, I hope it works.
how do you maintain solar panels?. . .part of solar energy's selling point is that it has practically no running costs when compared to other conventional forms of energy. |
@tkb congrats. . .as long as na extra pay and berra portfolio nothing spoil. |
Superbrain:thanks. . .you spoke my mind |
1 billion dollars plus. . .kai! that's 1000MW, God is great! |
@yinka and jeje enough reminiscing okay. . .y'all should just kiss and make up, so the rest of us can hear word. |
i dont think it's fair to rain insults on OP, even if you dont agree with her. . .y'all are being a tad too judgemental! |
Good to hear you're happy for her, it's natural to feel odd, however you still have to suck it in and tell your friends, what's the big deal gan sef? i have a classmate that it happened to, when we were in our final year of secondary school, when she mentioned it, i snorted or something mennnn you should see the way she grabbed me, i was instantly humbled. My point is, idiots will always be idiots. If your friends act funny cos of that, maybe y'all dont need to be friends. . . |
