Can you see everyone's names and their votes ni? my point was, shouldn't there be an element of suspense? like all the other sections. . .the winner gets announced at the end of the 2 weeks. Here, since i've voted, i can see the progress and so i'll have an idea of who'll win in the end. . . |

nike4luv: Nomination Ended 16/12/10, Thanks to everyone who nominated, i have put the polls up based on everyone's nomination. And the final nominees are:
Chaircover Outstrip Ifyalways and Sissy.
I respected mutter's wish and not inclued her in the posts. Maybe next year eh
Well done to other nominees i.e Jenny, Mutter,Rokiatu,Ivynwa and others. I have allowed 2 votes per person because the group is so small, 15 days for voting so voting ends on the 1st of January 2011.
Good luck everyone @nike when you vote you can see the tally. . .i think we aren't supposed to see that now. . . |

@OP What you guys can do is organise a meeting between your residents association and your business unit(the distribution folks you pay your bills to), talk to them frankly and ask them what the matter is. . .it just might be something you guys can solve/influence together.
Thing is, they receive a load allocation from their area control which in turn receives an allocation from another area control. If they try to exceed that limit, two things might happen, 1. they'll get away with it and increase the instability in the grid 2. they'll be switched off.
They have constraints within which they have to operate. Talk to them, if you are not satisfied with their response go higher, it's not enough to come on internet forums and complain, they are taking your money aren't they? that gives you the right to ask questions.
Okota is a new(or fairly new) area isn't it? i've been out of touch for a bit so i dont know if there's anything happening that is disrupting power generation. You guys should have a sit down with your distribution folks sha, it usually helps if you can put a face to the people you are dealing with. |

There's no way you know EVERYTHING for christ sakes. you know how silly a guy would sound if he told a girl that the fact that he is in her life is enough reason for her to do better. . .? all na diplomacy. I guess part of my problem is the fact that I've recognized his weakness - attributes that have brought him down in the past. I realize I can do better, or rather, my input could help him improve. As 'fate' would have it, where he falls short is where I excel. I just need a way to make him see that . . . . Because if we are going to end up together, I'm not going to sit back and watch him make the same mistakes all over again!!

mutter: yodiyokun, I could just give you a hug!!! It is clear that you are a real emancipated woman. Emancipated enough to appreciate being treated as a woman. And you certainly are right, on the long haul things change. I remember the first car I bought when dating. I picked it without consulting my husband. By the time we were married we both went looking out for a car together. The last car we bought, I was not even in the mood to go looking, I did not care about anything, even when he brought home the car I could not even be bothered to go down and look at it immediately. Just looked out of the window and said it was okay. Bukittes you can learn from yodiyokins words, I would advice you to learn them like a little prayer and keep repeating it to yourself. You crave to be emancipated but are not yet there. After years of marriage, with kids and responsibilities do you want to hold a conference over every trivial issue? I think you insult Uju by saying that women see guys as a means to fulfil their needs. I did not access her for one moment in such a way. She seems totally independent , just a little scared of getting caged in. Are you educated enough to appreciate the real role of a woman. Do you know that equality is actually detrimental to women in some cases. This emancipation thing !! Some women enslave themselves without even knowing it. We work hard, come home do the house chores, have children etc. Then take on the typical men`s chores. That is over tasking. All because we want to prove to one man that we are equal. That is stupidity. Let my husband think he is King kong, so far he does the work assigned to King kong. The other day I asked my husband to give one of the children's room a fresh coat of paint and he told me I could do it myself. Women in Europe do such things with great pleasure. I told him I was an African woman and not emancipated, he should please do it himself. Fancy trying to transfer the workload on me. I would have been a fool to fall for that cheap bait. When my car breaks down, I step out and make my way home, the rest is left to him. The other day he commented that I just step into my car, turn the key and drive off, not caring about any checks, not even petrol. I blew him a kiss and told him that`s why I married him. How silly can one get. Take care of the kids, cook etc and then also doing the man`s job. Even when I make silly mistakes and he wants to blame me, I turn the tables and blame him. He is the man, the wiser one, he should have guided me right, that is his duty as my husband. The poor man just scratches his head at a complete loss of words. An emancipated woman knows how to appreciate her qualities as a woman and make use of them to make life easier for her. What a wonderful feeling it is to think to ones self, " let him come back and take care of it, he is the man," When the kids get older to be able to say,"sorry papa`s words are final, clear it with him." You can even play at being real sympathetic, "okay I will try and talk to him," That for me is true emancipation. Emancipated from over work ad over stress at the home front. you're mean o. . .rotflmao |

Coming here to shout and insult people wont make things any easier. what if like tokunbo said, german is able to provide a car(of similar standard) and driver during your stay in nigeria, you can simply tell everyone that asks that there was a delay as regards the shipping and the person bringing the car in for you hooked you up with an interim car and driver(kinda like what AA does). . .that's some papas sturvs o. . .not the kind of things small boys have access to.(that alone should even tell you how professional the dude is) You should realise that you are dealing with a person of integrity in here(german007). You need to ignore the people that are feeding you false info off NL. P.S. he said he has been trying to get in contact with you for a while, so in essence, it looks like you're avoiding him only to come online and be posting stuff, dont you think that gives him reason to suspect that you just want to make him look bad? |

@Chapi During my time HND holders wrote the NSE graduation Exams (a two-part exam run annualy). it had the similar sylabus with most PGD in Engineering in Nigerian University, only that it was an external exam model and lot of people then hardly scaled through. On succesful completeion, one is awarded 'graduate engineer' then you apply for corporate membership, take the oral and written tests and if sucessful, you are taken in as a member. However, Iam aware the NSEGE has been stopped, so you will need a PGD before applying for corporate membership of NSE and to be a Registered Engineer with Coren @Dave07 morning. . .how's work? when did you start your program? they say they designed it to take 3- 4 years, do you plan to finish it faster? johndoe200: To the extent that the communist ideology provides for the poor it is alright. There must be 2 tariffs, one normal tariff and one subsidized. However even the normal tariff must be based on the rational that in a country with a minimum wage of 18,000 you cannot ask people to pay 10,000 for electricity alone. govt plans to introduce an inclined sliding block tariff next year. . . means, people that consume more electricity will pay higher prices, that's how the 'poor' are going to be taken care of. . . |
