Politics / Re: FFK Reacts To Appointment Of Saratu Atta By Ghanaian President-Elect by NeuroBoss(m): 5:08am On Jan 06, 2017
laudate:

Yes!! Saratu Atta is a nice, cultured, easy-going lady. She is also the daughter of former Governor of old Kwara State, the late Alhaji Adamu Attah. Her mother is a Ghanaian, though. She had one daughter for FFK, named Folake who is a graduate of a British university. Her younger sister Nana, is Femi Otedola's wife.

Some of her uncles and aunts include the late Alhaji Abdulaziz Atta, Nigeria’s first Head of Service and Secretary to the Federal Military Government during Gowon's regime. He is also the late father of Sefi Atta, the published novelist, prize-winning Nigerian author and playwright who is married to Gboyega Ransome-Kuti, one of the sons of the late Minister of health, Professor Olikoye Ransome-Kuti;

One of her uncles is Alhaji Mahmud Atta, who was once the Protocol Officer to the former Premier of the old Northern region. He later became Chairman of First Bank Plc, Nigeria.

Another uncle of hers' is Dr. AbdulMumini Atta, the second qualified medical doctor in Northern Nigeria while her paternal aunt is Judith Sefi Atta, first female Chief Education Officer in the North who later became an Ambassador to Italy and the first Minister for Federal Ministry of Women Affairs. Judith Sefinat Atta was the wife of the late poet Christopher Okigbo, who fought in the civil war.

This is good family pedigree.....thanks for the info on Nana Otedola. So, Saratu is DJ Cuppy's Aunt, this people just get leg everywhere. God, my siblings and I must be great.

Please, I need a software or keyboard built directly to solve this problem. Thanks!

Politics / Re: Pauline Tallen Rejects Ambassadorial Nomination Due To Her Sick Husband by NeuroBoss(m): 11:00am On Oct 23, 2016
Who are those abusing this woman second-guessing why she didn't accept the appointment? Where were they when Bianca Ojukwu left the most important Igbo man ever to die alone while she took ambassadorial post given (against the wish of a people who laid their lives for his husband failed quest just) to curry regional and tribal political favour?
Ojukwu loved Bianchi dearly that even in death, he asked that "Ojukwu, the man who loved Bianca" be written on his epitaph but unfortunately, Bianca loved position and influence more!

Whatever the underlying reason for turning it down, she made a good showing by using his husband failing health state as an excuse.
Wherever the names of woman who preferred their homes to any other thing how be it grandiose or great, your name will be mentioned. You did well.

Kudos madam!

You know this is 5 years of leaving Unilorin and its experience is still incomparable to what I have seen in O.A.U and Unilag, twi other schools I have to deal with after my Unilorin Odyssey. These your points are so true and they brought to mind those sweet, Unilorin years. When next you see "Professor" Ojo, tell him an alumnus and erstwhile loyal school bus customer on nairaland says "howdy".
I love my Unilorin!

Romance / Re: Ladies: Can You Marry A Man Who Is Currently Earning N50,000 Monthly As Salary? by NeuroBoss(m): 10:25pm On Oct 20, 2016
Most ladies are undergraduates who still fantasize about that young, successful, handsome millionaire as husband. While a few people are lucky getting them, an unfortunately larger number will have to start the marital odyssey with an upcoming, struggling guy whose financial fortunes may change for the better or not. Sadly, that is the reality of life. Everybody will not become millionaires.
A guy who earns 50k today can marry if as bad as Nigeria's economy is. They will still survive if they know how to manage. Reality is how many people in Nigeria earn 50k?

When will you people stop circulating falsehood because of unbankable likes and momentary fame?
What is German in this piece , this mere conjecture?

Well, I don't have time to start translating.
98% of the German here is a joke.
For example, this is the German translation of the last paragraph:
"Und nach dem funfte jahre, wife werden Deutsch sprechen wie erste mal wollten Sie".

Stop misinforming people!

Anger is a destroyer.... now, all her past benevolence towards the young lady will be forgotten and she will be maliciously talked about.
God help us to be the master of our emotions as all the mudslinging, insults and harassment that would arise from her missing would have been prevented if Eucharia had told her gently but firmly to leave without seizing her phones.
That is the part she will be regretting the most....

I know a friend that got to the last stage...Unfortunately, he graduated from a Nigerian university so they dropped him.

Sister, everyone on that list schooled in Nigeria. The YALI/MWF is a very competitive program. Your friend lost out at the interview stage to fiercer applicants. Not because he attended a Nigerian University. The University in front of their names is where they will be trained for the 6-week stay in the US

The only thing this politicized list proves is that Yorubas are really influential in this Buhari government, and that their support for Buhari is marginally paying off.

Nothing more and nothing less.

JAMB, WAEC and unity school, stats are non politicized stats and give a better picture of the real state of things. cool

Ariani, you are ignorant on this topic. Even a fool is thought wise when he kept quiet. YALI is so strict that they don't consult with even themselves. YALI Nigeria runs its own show independent of YALI Ghana. Many of us have been there. We've benefitted from the program and don't know where your Conspiracy Theory is springing from!
Education / Re: Nigerians Selected For 2016 Mandela Washington Fellowship by NeuroBoss(m): 10:28pm On May 08, 2016
Ariani:
"Nah let me simplify it for you cause I know how comprehension is your problem.

Your government as I mentioned earlier approve the list before it gets to the receiving government. Since APC is filed with North and yorubas, knowing how much the North aren't all up in the western education this eliminate their hands on the approval. Since the president is busy flying left and right all over the world, that eliminates his hand in the list approval. So that's left to the APC lick ass who comes when north doesn't want the bone aka yoruba. In that APC group, the main yoruba heads are theVP, Tinubu and Fashola.

Do you get it now, or do I have to find an infant to simplify it some more?"

See this guy pontificating in ignorance! I was part of a similar program by YALI. The government knows nothing about it. If it was about political, social and financial connections, almost all the people on that list wouldn't have been there. Stop saying what is beyond you as is you know. YALI is meritocratic and Yoruba has always been on the highside since inception in 2014 and even in the newly created YALI RLC WEST AFRICA!

This is active brain drain in action. 80% of this young guys and gals will end up living and helping to further develop the USA.

Nigeria, meanwhile, would have lost some of its best young brains.

Who gains - USA and the immediate family of these young fellowship winners. Who loses - Nigeria!

Don't blame the Awardees. They'll be fools not to take the opportunity especially when their Country has none to offer. Good luck to you guys as you embark on this life-changing journey.

The most important part of the program is their coming back. The investment on them is to come back and use it for the development of Africa. The aim of YALI is to raise the next generation of African Leaders who will save us from the doldrums we currently are in. Not Africans who want to flee. These are young men who are already doing great things by themselves with little or no support. Google and read about them
