I ordinarily wouldn't have commented on this thread but just so you know, Isreal defeated a coalition of powerful Muslim countries as at 1967 in what is famously known as "The Six-Day War" because it took six days to crush the united enemies.

Business / I Need Help To Be Nigeria's First True Tech Billionaire by NeuroBoss(m): 7:35am On Nov 26, 2017
Good morning , Nairalanders.

I have been ideating for quite sometime now and also reading on some of the world's most successful tech business people in the world and I discovered that their ideas were not really out-of-this-world. Some actually are but many just created products millions of people- the starving crowd, want.

Like Akin Alabi said in his bestselling book, Small Business Big Money: ''create what people would readily buy and you will become successful in no time''.

My idea is disruptive and will do just this. But there is a hitch!

I can't code!

Though, I have done my homework to know that it would be an instant hit and I am really getting my hands dirty on it but I need a team of equally young minds especially programmers to achieve it.

Like Akin Alabi did in 2008 when he listed some of the things he wanted to achieve in a few years then on Nairaland, I know many people will laugh at this but seeing what Otunba has become today, I don't mind following with this even if nothing came out of here.

Akin Alabi only wanted to win £1 million pounds in bet money but today, he controls a bet company, NairaBET that is worth much more.

His story and that of a few others like Richard Nyong motivate me.

So Nairalanders, please help me with a good tech incubator to go, advise me on how to go and general ''must-knows'' about the tech business ecosystem.

Ultimately, I also need co-founders who can code.

Sir/ma, if you can help with any of the above, don't see this post and scroll.

In a few years, you will be glad to have said, ''oh, that guy. I am glad to have helped him when he was just starting out. I am proud to be a part of S********T'' (The name of the Company.

Wealth isn't class,
Class is innate.

The Otedolas may have money; but they lack true class.

I lost all respect for Femi the moment Cuppy ridiculed him by dating a mere footballer.
Then the 'other one' worsened it by dating a scarecrow.

Politics / ...Lest Another Ilorin Happens To Lagos by NeuroBoss(m): 7:06pm On Oct 26, 2017
Over 200 years ago, the lush
green savannah grasses of the
stretch of land between
Ogbomosho and Jebba fed Yoruba herds. It was also a good
site for hunting expeditions and
that was from where Ilorin, a
then thriving and bustling
Yoruba town got its name, ''the
place where iron is sharpened''.
Alas, the Fulanis happened to it and it never remained the same!

True to type, these Fulanis, like the 21st Century Crusaders of ''No Man's Land'' Lagos, came draped in the pretentious garb of businessmen exploiting the
prosperity and ambience the
land offered. They gained
prominence and wealth. They bought lands and built houses and then they changed! They wanted more- dominance! The
patrimony, rulership and
suppression of the Yoruba
owners of Ilorin became their
obsession and they got it. They
deposed the Baale, the traditional head representing
the Alaafin and the interest of
the Oyo Empire and imposed an Emir, a representative of the
Caliph.

Once getting the dominance, they became demagogues. They lumped the over 70% of the Yoruba towns and villages with some Nupe and Fulani tribes and called it Kwara, the Hausa/Fulani name for the river Niger changing it from the ''Odo Oya'' that the Yorubas called it. They gave Ilorin and Kwara state a North-Central geopolitical bearing and despite the fact that everyone in Ilorin including the emir speaks Yoruba and answers a Yoruba name, they made it officially documented that ''Ilorin will neither be a Yoruba nor a Fulani town''.

If we would not stop being politically correct, if we would
fold our hands and watch some
strangers distort our history and steal our patrimony, if we
would not exert our rights and
responsibilities as custodians of the coveted space called Lagos now, another Ilorin will happen to it.
The next generation must come to meet this Eldorado, the
success story city still a Yorubaland with its language, traditions and institutions preserved and for this, more proactive measures like the YLL and other self-preserving legislations must be made lest these ''NOMANSLANDERS'' win.

Jack was placed in a cell 2×2 with one window at the top of the wall.

The window was big enough for him to go through it but too high for anyone to reach it.

The cell was empty.

It had nothing in it, except a shovel.

He had only two days to break out.

How will Jack escape?

You mentioned that he is in a 2x2 compartment. This means that his outstretched hands and legs would touch the parallel walls either way. Jack would simply use the shovel to make holes on the sides of the walls to support his hands and legs and he will do that upwardly till he reaches the top and escapes.

His excellency Oluwo Deinde Fernandez,he used to water his farm with helicopters,he was also a grandmaster of Ogboni confraternity till his death,he had yacht, island in USA and was involved in one of the biggest divorce settlement ever in UK.
MKO Abiola in the 90's,MKO was ruined by politics,Abacha destroyed his wealth and made sure he turn him to a poor man before he dies.

When lies are told more frequently, they tend to become statements of facts.

Your assumption that Harry Akande was that rich was the same election lie told that Osinbajo was the number 4 man in RCCG.

Listen to yourself, if Akande was that rich, how much do you think would have been too much to wreck him on an electioneering campaign?

With Deinde Fernandez, I agree.

Programs like the AU/YVC give life-changing opportunities. Though, I am also an applicant this year, I have been part of equally prestigious international programs in the past i.e. YALI, AU/YALDA Agenda 2063 to mention but a few.

I write articles for a living and I have 60-70 percent success rates guiding people on applying for programs like this.

If you would like to beat the deadline and its attendant worries, I can help you with your application for a token.
I will guide you or help you write top-notch motivation letters and other essays as may be required in any of the AU/UN languages of your choice. Yes! I speak them all!

And hopefully, with prayers, we shall succeed together.

Politics / 19 Years Of Abacha's Death: The Man On Whose Death Nigeria Rejoiced by NeuroBoss(m): 9:44am On Jun 08, 2017
On Sunday, June 7, 1998, General Sani Abacha was at the airport to welcome Palestinian leader Yassir Arafat. Sauntering in his traditional babaringa, he was full of life taking greetings from people who were around but 24 hours later, the man whom many believed to be a tyrant was pronounced dead following a cardiovascular attack. He was to travel to Burkina Faso the day he died for a meeting at the then Organization for African Unity, O.A.U .
Abacha is being touted today as the first Nigerian president to die of natural cause but many Nigerians still belief till today that his death is far from being natural. Abacha was reportedly randy and this might be the the flame which led to the fire of rumor in Nigeria today that he died of poisoned apple by some of his many Indian mistresses.
The day Abacha died is debatably the happiest day in the life of the nation; and may be only Independence Day on October 1st, 1960 could compete with it.
I remember that day on June 8, 1998. I just came back from school and I saw elderly men gathered in round their radio set and whispering in hush tone.
There was tension in the polity, local newspapers had gone to press before his death and the electronic media could not broadcast his passing away without official confirmation. News of his death first reached us from foreign sources: CNN, the BBC and VOA.
While there was a general belief and relief in the air that he might be truly dead because of the credibility of the News Agencies that aired it, people still exercised restraint in the way they rejoice.
After a wait that seemed to be eternal, the Radio Nigeria came on air to announce the broadcast of a very important information. And then, General Abdulsalam Abubakar came on air to make this announcement which threw many Nigerians into a frenzy.
These were his exact words on that history-making, June 8, 1998 evening:
”The Head of State, Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces, General Sani Abacha (GCON), passed away in the early hours of this morning (Monday). General Sani Abacha was born in Kano on September 20, 1943. He enlisted into the Nigerian Army in December 1962 and trained at the Nigerian Military College, Jaji, and Mons Officers Cadet College, United Kingdom.
He was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in 1963 and promoted to full Lieutenant in1966; Captain in 1967; Major in 1970; Lieutenant-Colonel in 1972; Colonel in 1975; Brigadier-General in 1980; Major-General in 1984, Lieutenant-General in 1987; and General in 1990.
General Abacha held many command positions in the Nigerian Army, including Commander 2nd Division Training Depot; Commander Support Wing and Chief Instructor, Nigerian Army Schoolof Infantry Brigade, 1975-1978. He was the Commander, 9 Mechanised Brigade, 1981-1983; and became the General Officer Commanding 2 Mechanised Division, 1984-1985.
General Abacha was the Chief of Army Staff from August 1985 to April, 1990 and later (was ) Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, from December 29, 1989 to September 1, 1990.
He was Chief of Defence Staff and Minister of Defence from September 3.1990 to November, 1992. He was secretary for Defence Chief of Defence Staff, from December, 1992-November 16, 1993.
General Abacha assumed the office of Head of State, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, on November 17, 1993 and served till June 8, 1998 on a national rescue mission.
He was highly decorated and had, in his lifetime, earned the following honours: Grand Commander of the Niger (GCON), Order of the Federal Republic (OFR), Defence Service Medal (DSM), National Service Medal (NSM), General Service Medal (GSM), Republic Medal (RM), Silver Jubilee Medal (SJM), Force Service Medal (FSS), Distinguished Service Star (DSS), Meritorious Service Star (MSS), Member, National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos (mni)”.
Hardly had Abubakar finished the news that the streets went agog. People were seen hugging, dancing and performing different stunt on their motorcycles and bicycles.
I first wondered why people were happy at the death of a man then, I remembered Kudirat Abiola and host of others that were killed at the behest of Abacha, the imprisonment of Obasanjo, Diya , Adisa etc, economic hardship, political tensions, exiles of some prominent Nigerians and I was relieved myself. Sani Abacha will always live in our hearts as a tyrant at whose death Nigera rejoiced.
