B Y Mafit is the only institution i knew that register TOEFL @45k cos of their 5years aniversary promo, i think its now late to register with them now, cos today is the deadline but they still have just 5hrs left,i knew you cant go to Gtbank to pay now, if your reading my message now, try and check their site call any of the 4 number on their site if they can pick your call ontime ask them if you can transfer the money via Gtbank mobile transfer or token, if you can still meet up. I paid mine yesterday via Gtbank deposit slip then i call them to notify and they already got my transaction, then i have been given center , i got direct emails from ETs, if they said you can still meet up, you will see the account number that you will pay in via their website after payment try and fill in the online form for toefl in their website, they use that to get your information to proper register you on ets, or you can go to their office to do all that and collect your free kaplan texbook, and your entitle for free lecture as part of the promo if your chanced, i will see them to collect mine on monday .. kind of busy since wednesday.
Thanks, bro. Will you be studying on your own or you're gonna be attending their lectures?

As regards your questions to why the toefl is so cheap at some centres, I remember someone here once mentioned that ETS gives out vouchers to those registration centres.
My bro registered for 50k at myexamplanet. And its legit.
Cheers
Thank you very much!

You can do you it yourself, it's just like creating a Jumia account and finishing your order by checking out and making payment. visit the website, fill the required information, and make payment with your card. That's how I did mine, I don't know if anything has changed since then.

Also, does anybody have tutorial materials for the TOEFL; especially that aspect of Speaking and Listening, 'cos I find it very difficult due to my poor accent. Can I really pass this exam by studying all by myself?

You can pass by studying all by yourself. It is just as guaranteed as going for tutorials... I mean; it depends on YOU. It's not a very difficult test, and please don't worry about your accent. Just try to speak louder and pronounce words how they naturally come to you. They want to know how you're able to communicate your ideas to the other person, not primarily your accent.

Hint: if you have Cortana on your PC or Siri on your iPhone or google voice command/search... start using them. Keep speaking in a way that the software is going to understand what you're trying to say. keep practising and you'll get better.
Thanks, man. And thanks, Femi321.
Sureb0y, how about the current price? 180 dollars is over 70K. You have an idea about how much it is being registered for at those centres?

1) you dont need to register with an institution, you can do it yourself but since most banks are now reducing there dollar pos/online limit, you will have to look for an atm that works. You can pass (>100) the exam by studying for just 2weeks, toefl is not really a big deal.
Femi321, how much is the TOEFL now? I heard it'sas 180 dollars which is 72,000 naira at 400 per dollar. How come institutions are charging only N45K?

The reading and listening section are cheap..very very just dont lose concentration while listening, the part you will need to concentrate on is the speaking. if you had read this thread you would have seen where i posted materials for noteful toefl speaking just yesteday, they seem to be the best. So next time take your time to read the thread, people hate replying the same answers all over again but let me just post the link again for you, next time you might not be lucky, you will have to read the thread..infact i read this thread like a story book and it was interesting then

In a case and situation like this the university transcript is what the school will ask for..
He's going for undergraduate, not postgraduate.

happyday:
In that case, the way out is to contact the undergraduate admissions co-ordinator in the school. Prepare to keep sending emails till s/he replies. Cos they get a whole lot of emails.

In short, what you've done is what they call 'Home schooling.' You schooled yourself at home. Give a candid reason why you left school at the time you did. It may be that you felt the education in your school at the time was not up to par. May be the curriculum, the fees, or like you cited here, ill-health. Tell them the level at which you dropped, and show them the results up to that point. And that from there, you gathered materials and studied to stupor!

If anything, it shows you have initiative, took responsibility for your education and that you're mostly self-driven, which counts for something substantial in US undergrad admissions.

You might also want to search for the home school link on the school's website. Or Google "name of school + home school + admissions." You will get enough info on what you need, and you can take it up from there with the co-ordinator.
Thanks so much!

@skarlett, everyone is entitled to their opinion, so there is no need to insult anyone. Even the OP @zaynie did not insult anyone, but you're the first to insult someone on this thread. I think the OP should even be happy that people think her work is so good, that it must have been plagiarised.

And no one should be surprised because there are many plagiarised contents on NL, even professional writers have been accused of plagiarism at some point or the other. Criticism is important in even literary work, so the OP should be grateful that not everyone is singing her praise same way. So, I hope you, skarlett are not more pained that who should be pained which is the OP.

Anyway, like the person above me rightly said, I also need to check Google.

MODIFIED

Can't find it on Google. Thumbs up OP. I need a novel from you. Will gladly buy.
