Hi guys, compliment of the season to u all.Quick one, I got admitted into a uni. in Germany for master and am asked to pre-enroll through mail posting with so specified documents, which is not an issue but am asked to include an insurance certificate. Anyone with an info on how to get a student health insurance certificate should please give one. Trust in you guys for an info

Just tell dem u will get insurance upon ur arrival in Germany cus no naija insurance covers ur stay in Germany except if u av someone in Germany DAT will buy it for u which is a long thing considering DAT money will be deducted monthly from ur act to fund d insurance.

I told my SCH d same thing and dey waited. Wat is important is ur enrolment fees. Which SCH are u coming to

Wat dey are asking for is only for one year but if u av money surplus u can put excess, na ur money kill am

when i read some comments on social media, i cant but pity the mental faculty of some people. a rail project that has not even started and one company is calling it world class and some people are already using it as an avenue to start a pdp apc war. why dont we wait till the next 25 years wen it will be 'ready' before we start arguing abt if its world class or not.

if the whites and advanced country we want to be like rejoice in speculative news do u think they will be wia they are today? and in 25 yrs time wen that real system is eventually ready which i totally doubt, will the rail system of these advanced countries still be wia it is today?

i dont just understand y we keep falling for the cheap publicity stunt of this clueless administration. for ur info, i am a nigerian residing in germany so i know what a world class rail system looks like not one that have not even stated and youths are already abusing themsef ova

i do not usually write long stories but i really think i have to do it today. i met a nigerian lady recently here in frankfurt and i think i should share the story she told me yesterday cus we guys already here can learn a lot from it.

she came to germany for her masters two years ago with a sponsorship letter from her brother and her broda only paid her rent for 2 months and her insurance for 5 months so she had to struggle to survive by getting multiple jobs yle studying. the gist doe is not abt her cus she made a success of it as she has graduated now with good grades but abt a friend dey came together from OAU ife to the same sch here in fulda, germany.

the guy (an ibo guy) in question had a blocked acct and was being sponsored by his brother in nigeria so he was very relaxed and would not work but will go flexing and wasting money with another guy from nigeria who was on a monthly scholarship. he would also be sending money home from this same block acct to his gf in nigeria forming don and partying and buying things from expensive stores, dating german gals, moving with unserious people. you all know that 8000 euro in germany is really chicken change so the money burnt fast and he had to start begging his broda in nigeria for more money.

the broda pitied him and sent him around 2000 euro to renew his permit cus he got one year initially but during the process of his being broke and finding it had to survive, he lost focus and failed the semester exam woefully. so the visa office refused to extend his permit and he was asked to return home cus he could not cope with the rigours of the masters program. it was so bad for him that they had to send money for his flight back home from nigeria as he had wasted all money on him.

on getting back to nigeria with nothing to show for it after wasting close to 11000 euro, his gf back home that he was forming don for broke up with him and used the saving from all the guys foolishness to travel out herself. now the guy is back in Nigeria with no job and no certificate to show from his germany adventure and his brother have refused to spend a dime on him again.

moral of the story: we know the sacrifice we had to make to get here, the nights searching online for schs, the periods fine tuning our motivation letter, the trips to lagos and abuja to certify documents, the nights reading for IELTS and TOEFL and in some cases also preparing for german language proficiency exam. Most importantly, we know the biggest sacrifices some of our parents and sponsors had to make for us to be here in monetary terms. some parents (like mine) took loans with huge interest rates using a valuable asset as collateral. plz and plz, let us face wat we are here in germany to achieve cus the authorities here would not hesitate to send us back if we mess things up.

im not saying we cant flex once in a yle but we should remember the saying that dia is time for evrything under the sun. for those with a mindset of coming here to flex with german guys and ladies wo are already citizens, i would advise we do it with sense cus if things go wrong, they have a social system to fall back on but we will be left hanging out dry. if we dont av sex in a year we cant die and dia is a way we will prove oursefs that these gals will offer themself to us on a platter. i already have two german ladies in my class wo wants my dick but im running with sense not cus im impotent but cus i know say time neva reach.

and for us who have fiances back home in nigeria, dont let wateva pressure they pile(stuff like u av not called today, u dint send me a msg, u know i need attention and money) affect us cus they cant understand wat we are facing here. if he or she cant wait, then let him or her go, another person will come.

Eke40seven I really feel ur last post. Dis page dwells more on life before getting to Germany and less on after it bcus people WO got here b4 us are usually silent after getting here.

No one actually told us DAT u get to pay over 100€ for resident permit wen u get here until I raised d question. A lot of other issues like settling down here and getting a job are also not treated. I most confess DAT I av not bin finding things easy since I arrived cus I came here without knowing anybody and most of d tins I av done here were thru d grace of God WO made me meet a Nigerian guy DAT have bin so wonderful.

We really need those already here and settled to come back here to give to wia dey got from most especially in getting jobs as I most confess d 8040€ blocked is not actually enuf if u stay in a city like Frankfurt wia I am and I can't call home for money. U should also b aware that u av to pay enrolment fee again every semester and DAT was not calculated with d 8040 so if guys WO are already settled don't assist us just finding our feet won't d visa b a waste wen we loose our studentship?

I can Neva forget this forum cus its part of wat got me here and I hope others can help too

I just hav to comment on d issue of seal/stamp that has been lingering on here. I applied to various schools including uni-assist wit d certification below and it was accepted without any problem. U guys shld refrain frm all dis confusion abegi.

Nobody is confusing anybody here. I applied to uni-assist using the same format i.e stamp and signature only, as yours and dey mailed me back to tell me it was not acceptable and gave me the link to d post I shared eailer about a seal. I mailed them back that that is wat my school uses to certify since I certified mine then initially at d registrar office and my svhoo does not use a seal. They replied telling me that was dia rule and dey won't bend it for anybody as its my duty to read understand and follow it before I applied. I forgot about it only for them to mail me back later that they will process my document and till today I do not know d reason for their change of mind. They processed it and I got the admission.

If u follow the sequence of this my gist u will c that uni assist has a standard which is written clearly on their site for all to read and follow. Other schs av diff rules. I did not even eventually use d seal bearing certification for any German SCH but odas myt not b that lucky. So if ur SCH says seal give them seal if dey say stamp give them and if dey ask u to send them torn copies tear ur cert and send them. Chikena no need bin aggressive and using d word abegi for us here as if we dey disturb u

Copies of authenticated documents – regardless of whether they are provided in electronic or paper form – are mere copies, and themselves are not authenticated. A copy will only count as authenticated if it bears the original seal of authenticationn

STANDARD OFFICIAL AUTHENTICATION

Official authentications must always bear original copies of the seal and signature of the authenticator. The official seal can be round or oval and contains an emblem. Authentications that only have a stamp on them will not be accepted.

If the copy consists of several individual pages, then it must be shown that each page belongs to the same document. It is sufficient if just one page bears the authentication mark and signature, as long as all pages overlap one another (usually in the top-left corner) and are stapled and authenticated such that each page bears a part of the official seal.
On notary authentications (with string and a seal mark), the authentication mark only needs to appear on one of the pages of the copy or transcript.

Your documents may be authenticated by the following institutions:
the schools or universities who issued them, or the relevant Department of Education in your home country
the Diplomatic Missions to the Federal Republic of Germany
the Culture Department at the Embassy of the country the certificate was issued in
the authorities and notaries authorized to carry out official authentications in the country in question

That is d instruction as I just lifted it from uni assist site
http://www.uni-assist.de/standards_en.html

Eke40seven:

Hi nevilbot,
I didn't reply xketchDesigns based on the enquiries he made about the format in Abuja (I don't know what theirs look like) but my answer is in respect to previous strings of enquiries he made and I responded to. And even as a matter of fact, the authority he will eventually use in Abuja either court or ministry may have different materials for certification but either will be accepted if the requested formats are right.
Before now, he said he had done one in Nassarawa or one state in the north or middle belt and that it bore only a stamp and not an emblem. I was then trying to correct an impression that as far as the stamp forms a "coat of arm" of may be the local gov., state or Nigeria, it will be accepted that it will only be rejected if it only has "texts" I.e letters and not symbols.
Do you get my point now?
So in essence, it doesn't really matter what you used in making the emblem (symbol, sign, coat if arm, badge), whether stamp, seal, fire, thread or gold, what they want to see is the emblem. I hope you get the message I was trying to pass across.

And further, EXCEPT, the school specifically mentioned that you should use that of the ministry of education EXCLUSIVELY, I don't see why you should spend a fortune couple with the stress and procedure of going to the ministry of education when most German school will only ask you to use relevant AUTHORITIES like courts and notary public or even their embassies which is way way more cheaper and convenient.
My two cowries!

Eke, even uni assist told me back then that dey wanted a seal and not just a stamp. Dey specifically sent me a mail that my certification was not enuf cus it only bore a stamp and wat they accept is a seal. They sent me a link to somewhere on dia site wia it is expressly stated that wat they accept is a seal. As I said I went to abuja den cus the Italian embassy told me to go dia and dats d only one dey accept. I came back from my abuja trip after spending 12k to do it and Goethe sent me my admission letter so I dint eventually use it cus I decided to go to Germany instead.

The process in MOE takes officially two weeks but trust IBO boys WO hang around d ministry as agents. I gave d guy 1k per document instead of d official 250 and my certification was ready d next day. Den at d ministry of foreign affairs, dey don't accept documents on Thursdays but my IBO guy just waka inside and came out 30 mins later with d job done even doe it was a Thursday.

So my guy this is how it is done. Go to education ministry ist . make two copies of each of d document u wantvto certify. Submit it with a waec scratch card if waec cert is among and dey will certify it with a seal and a signature no stamps on d original and photocopies. Den forward match to d foreign affairs ministry and submit only the photocopies as dey do not sign original educational documents dia saying its d jurisdiction of education ministry. Dey will den put dia own seal and sign. Dats all. I will upload pics of it later

Please has anybody certified their documents in Abuja before? Please if you have, did it carry the emblem? Thanks

Yes it had an emblem of the Nigerian coat of arm like a seal engraved into the paper from d back but it was not in colours. The ministry of education will ist apply their seal on d original and two photocopies yle foreign affairs ministry will put their own seal on d photocopies only after they av seen d seal from d MOE.

To reply d person DAT ist replied u, the certification in abuja is not just an ordinary ink stamped thing ooo. No ink will even appear on the paper. Its a seal and den a signature of the person who puts d seal that will be on d certified documents and based on what I heard and made to believe wen I went dia for d process only 4 people can sign it in d whole of d ministry and if u take d documents to foreign affairs ministry with a diff signature from d four dey already know it will be rejected. All embassies accept this certification without exception cus it carrys d seal of d forieng affairs ministry. Na even Italian embassy even asked me to go do it dia cus that's d only certification dey accept as na uni of Trieste in Italy I ist get admission before baba God come say na germo I most come.

Thanks for your response, I actually read d last 2 pages u talked about but still have question.
Its my university that will send the transcript directly, they only invite someone using courier to come over to pay for it , and in d process he will have the tracking number, but as for Nipost, the school just send it like that, student will not have opportunity to register it. That's y I asked how reliable is Nipost on unregistered mail.

My school did the same (Lautech) and I was even sending to Finland then.I checked d price for FedEx and it was 12k told them abeg send it through nipost of 500 naira.12 days later, I got a mail from Finland DAT my transcript Don land. So Bros let dem send it with nipost. Dey av a tracking for it cus na registered dey use. I sincerely do not want the issue of nipost to appear on this thread again cus at present nipost is the only federal govt parastatal that has been rebranded and working effectively. If I have to send any document ten times over, nipost all the way. Even stuffs that I bought from China got to me through nipost not one of them was tampered with.

This question is for those already in Germany to answer plz and it's about extending the 3 months visa to a 2 year resident permit before d 3 months visa expires.

My question are what's the procedure?
Do we need to pay for it cus my classmate from turkey said she was asked to pay 100 euro for a year extension cus her dad scholarship was only for a year so she got extension only for a year.
My last statement now brings me to d last and most important question.

A Nigeria guy I met here WO is a bsc student but married to a German told me I will still av to provided prove of fund for my second year to extend my permit for two years and considering wat my Turkish mate told me that she got a year extension cus her daad scholarship was for one year and she will av to go back after year one to show prov DAT she got it extended based on her performance before she gets permit for year two.

All these things dey rack my brains so plz all dos already in Germany who av experience in all des stuffs I tink we need to discuss this.

All those asking about TOEFL, the thing is u can't register it by ursef u most use an agent WO might stress u in d end like we av heard here. I don't know y u guys don't just register for ielts DAT u can register by ursef and get ur result wen u need it

As for emirates luggage of 30kg, I took Turkish and dey allowed 2 diff luggage's of 23kg each so if u do d maths DAT is more Dan emirates single luggage of 30kg and I still carry hand luggage join. And the advantage of Turkish over emirate is d distance of d second flight to Germany. The first flight from Lagos to Istanbul or Dubai is roughly d same but na d second leg u go which u av taken a shorter route cus u will b tired already. Turkish will b like 3 hrs to Germany while emirates will be anoda agonizing 7 hrs or dia about. I would av died if I took emirate cus 2hrs into my second flight I was already finding it difficult to breath in d plane. So my advice will b to take an airline with a shorter second flight to ur destination.

As per d cold, oh boy d tin Don wan kill me so Tay I Don go buy hand gloves Eskimo hoodie e.t.c even my jeans no thick reach. Guys don't waste money buying all does flat soles naija shoes called knock about, buy correct tennis with lace and ankle shoes with big soles cus d cold no b beans o.its 6 degrees today in Frankfurt if u know wat that means.

My main problem now is accommodation so if anyone has any link in Frankfurt that can assist me with that plz holla me asap cus I most leave wia I'm staying by 30 of dis month so if u no want make a naija broda sleep under bridge wen he has money in Deutsche bank plz help me.
