That's like wasting my precious time. |

Politics › Re: LASG Signs MoU With Fintech Company, Etransact On Management Of Setbacks by Newyorkitis(m): 4:39pm On Mar 30, 2023 |
COMPAQ: As an urban planner, are setbacks meant to be for trading activities? Cos what i get from this initiative from LASG is that its mainly to organize and TAX economic activity on setbacks!!
Not sure that trading activities is the essence of the space we leave between roads and building!!
Having said that, I googled the definition and rationale for setbacks, and this came up!
A setback is used to create a buffer area which protects buildings or structures from the road by mitigating noise levels, by providing a safety zone and by improving aesthetics through landscaping or screening. Setbacks are a function of the area type, land use and the functional classification of the road. You are correct fellow Nairalander. I support the move because it talks about curbing unregulated development, setbacks, beautification amongst others. Except if they are trying to pull a wool over our faces. |

Truth be told, boko haram has really been weakened.
If a country like Ghana faced half of what Nigeria faced in the hands of boko haram and ipob, the country would have been overwhelmed and seize to exist. The war isn’t an easy war and Nigeria is fighting hard to keep the country safe from its enemies

Kobojunkie: There is no ideal marriage age for a woman neither is there one for a man. Marriage can be entered into for many different reasons other than childbearing. And if childbearing is part of the reason for marriage, women are able to bear kids even up to age 50-55—surrogacy after that —, so it does not behoove anyone to limit themselves to a certain age bracket. Can you marry a woman for the first time in your life at that age? Please advice on what you can accept. |
Romance › Re: Why Some Men Don't Want To Marry Women With Kids Or Babymamas by Newyorkitis(m): 6:45am On Mar 14, 2023 |
One reason most of us overlook is the economic aspect of marrying a single mother. This is because a newly wedded couple may decide not to have a child even after 2 years of their wedding, all in a bid to plan properly (This number is increasing daily)
But with a single mother, that plan is not feasible because a child is already in the equation. You get married today, work starts immediately. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Is It Right For A Company To Seize The Tips Given To Workers By Customers? by Newyorkitis(m): 7:35am On Feb 18, 2023 |
PrettyBolu: I want us to talk about employers and how they handle the tips given to their staffs. I was reading through a thread on front page that talked about dropping your phones before resuming work. In that thread I saw a comment that attracted my attention. The person said he/she works for GT plaza. He said it is a fast food. He said the company collects the tips given to staffs. I want us to talk about this.
Have you worked in a company where you are not allowed to accept tips?
Have you worked in a company where the company seize tips given to staffs and add it to their profit? (I think this is stealing and wickedness)
Let's talk about tips
nlfpmod In my experience as a manager in a fast food restaurant we had to temporarily withhold and redistribute the tips to those on that shift because some representatives practically started begging for tips from customers (some customers were not happy about it) Also, they started fighting for who should attend to a "sure" customer publicly, something which is portraying the company in a bad image. I can tell you for free that the company in question takes care of her staff even with payment of incentives cut across board. |

Withholding the worker's salary is the mainstay of a large percentage of them coupled with a toxic environment especially when it happens to be a one-man's or family business, everyone in that family becomes your oga or madam automatically.
