JustinSlayer69:Heh heh, but it is the leaders from another tribe that made the conditions for crayfish to bend. Think about it ![]() |
And who is taking all these drugs? No be Asians? Abeg they should clear their own people with drug-free certificates, then my industrious brothers will be forced to find other means of making money ![]() |
Amarabae:Heh heh. I just provided historical context. Look up the origins of Onitsha. But to keep it real, I'm proud of my industrious brothers in Onitsha and everywhere. I just want to see successful black countries TBH. That's all that matters. |
Probz:La la la... I'm not in any mood to listen. Biafra is the 5 Igbo states. Any long story is not going to change that. ![]() But you're right though about current ethnic identity. Things change over time. I really don't care, really, I just want successful black countries |
I know I will get insulted for this, but I will say it anyway. If Ndi-Igbo want their own country, it should be limited to Anambra (minus Onitsha*), Enugu, Imo, Abia, and Ebonyi. Yes, people will say: what of Anioma in Delta (from Ika to Aniocha, Oshimili down to Ndokwa)? Igbos are not indigenous to these areas, though there has been migration and settlement over the last 2 centuries. Sadly, I know some misguided Anioma people who consider themselves Igbo (they are in for a rude surprise when they are labeled as non-core-Igbo). What about Rivers and Akwa-Ibom? Cross River and Bayelsa nko? Well, Igbos are not indigenous to these states either, so how can they be dragged into Biafra just like that? *Onitsha has its origins from Bini people, but like Lagos, and Asaba, Igbos are claiming it as theirs (or at best, no-man's land**). Claiming where you migrated to as your own is bad form, especially when those you met are still around. What of all the industry built in Onitsha? Because we don't want to fight too much, we'll let you keep Onitsha since Benin hasn't exerted its influence or developed it since time immemorial. **At the rate Igbos are in China, I won't be surprised if in 50 years, they start claiming parts of China as no-man's land! And worse is trying to misguide people on their heritage so they will be the critical mass for your purposes. Fire away, I wore my flame-retardent underwear today ![]() |
kingzizzy:We tried to resist, but Lord Lugard, the British Crown, Royal Niger Company, and co. sent soldiers, spies, mercenaries, implanted traitors; they brought gunships, cannons, rifles, and overwhelmed us with their superior firepower. Then they corrupted the minds of our youngsters with their religion and technology. |
So, after you comot high heels, push-up bra, hair, nails, eyelash, contacts, makeup, butt pad, waist control, and now cameltoe, wetin remain? Nothing like the original package. This is getting out of hand. Triple smh. ![]() |
Na wao... Na so recession reach? Even dogs are killing snakes now ![]() Soon, we'll see all those street dogs carrying snakes for sale ![]() |
We already have second, third, N-wives... so what's the big deal in marrying them at once, instead of every few years? |
All wonderful... with their unique beauty "I play em like vitamins and take a chick a day" ![]() |
modelmike7:Since we're speculating wildly, according to the trend before PMB took over, the rate if GEJ remained would have been around 290-320. PMB's policies helped stoke panic and pushed it to 500. It's now returning to where it should have been. At any rate, it is always good news when the Naira strengthens. I must give credit to the CBN governor, the acting president during last month, and to PMB. My concern is if it's sustainable. A lot of people halted their demand for dollar, and with the decreased price, they will be back, adding pressure |
The code is 042 738 eliminates 7,3, and 8 780 guarantees that 0 is one of the numbers 682 and 206 mutually eliminate 6, also fix 2 at left, and make 0 in the wrong place 206 and 614 eliminate 1, and select 4 206 now resolves 0 to be at left, and 4 in middle |
Wait, u can't disclose how you're spending our money? Wow |
They tried... |
spartan117:This is good for our democracy. The different arms should flex their muscles as provided by the constitution, and realize where their own limits are. |
So, former classmates now qualify as degree ba? Let me go and sit inside Lagos Business School classrooms for one week, then I will also be a "graduate". If you doubt me, I will invite my classmates too. Smh ![]() |
Kondomatic:Name 3 instances. |
od501:I agree... as to the honourable Senator's talent... I'm yet to see the compelling talent he was hired for leadership. |
mattmobis:I understand and agree completely. A 3rd class may be better suited for organizing a company, and the 1st class better suited for execution. In fact it would be a waste to have a brilliant scientist working on administration/CEO when she could be inventing new drugs. |
sinisters:The irony is that organisations are caring less about the certificate, because so many - like in the case of the Senator in question - are dubious. What's the point in trusting what the certificate says, if it doesn't really mean anything. I agree that the certificate is not end all be all. But I still think that the chances of finding good lawyers/accountants/whatever is higher from a pool of those who understand their field of study enough to get 1st class. If you don't understand the theory of what you're doing, can you ever be as good as somebody who does? Of course you can learn in the field, and experience is the best teacher, but given a pool candidates - who are all brilliant in their own way, why handicap your organization with people who have to learn on the job, when you can have people who already understand the job, and can go further? |
tensazangetsu20:You're right, doing well in school is not 100% correlation, and we have data points of individuals who have excelled despite their bad grades. However, doing well in school is a very good indicator that you are suited for what you are doing, and that you understand the theory. There are people who don't test well (meaning they understand better than they can articulate on paper, yet excel at practicals or under stress), and organizations need to be proactive about that. So, in summary, we're not after outliers, we're after a higher average. And if we have a higher average in our leadership pool, chances are we'll have a better country than what we have at the moment. |
Saao:They were aristocrats. As children, they were taught at home by the best teachers/governesses of the time. They spent many years studying in their own private libraries, going on excursions to other countries to learn the sciences, politics, philosophy, finances, and languages. Most were very lucky: born into a family of means so one could study without worrying about making a living. Some of them were also brilliant: establishing private laboratories, clinics, libraries, etc. These were the kinds of people who started universities, since you asked. |
od501:Try applying to Google, Facebook, Apple, Microsoft without a degree, and watch your resume get dropped like a hot potato. It's a nice story, and we even have examples of people succeeding without a degree... still I'd rather have somebody who understands theory to be in charge of practicals "Hi, I'm your doctor in charge of your surgery today. I studied accounting, 3rd class, but don't worry, I'm not one of those certificate fever people" |
tensazangetsu20:This is very true. But I hope you'll agree that the chances of civil engineers building a good bridge are higher if they all understood their schoolwork. |
Toscoas2:And how many of our leaders have attained his heights? You're using the example of one exceptional person to prove a fallacy. For example, Bill Gates and Mark Z. dropped out of college to concentrate on their companies. Yet Microsoft and Facebook hire the best college graduates. I don't even think they'd look at your resume if you were 3rd class. How many college dropouts does Google have? How many 3rd class graduates does Dangote hire for critical and high-level operations? Why is that? |
Delarosa:For the same reason a bank hires top graduates when it can: not all first class graduates are fit, but the chances of finding good leadership is much higher among those who were able to study hard, understand the material, apply the material. It speaks of mental capacity and discipline. The chances of having a leader who understands finance is much higher if you pick from a pool of first-class graduates, than if you pick from a pool of those whose certificates are dubious, at best. I also would rather have a first class engineer in charge of our industry, than somebody who didn't understand Newton's laws. |
Doriana2:Very good writeup... If we started screening our leaders the way we screen employees, the country would be much better off. |
Vicboi1:Gov't? Or Owerri traders? ![]() Can't remember the last time I bought a bag of rice. Na eba and amala these days. But I'm sure if I stroll down to Ogbe ogonogo abi wetin dem dey call am, it will be like 22k. Nor be Delta? |

This is good sha... as Nigerians will find ways to avoid paying.Furthermore, the charges will be applied on the cumulative withdrawal/deposit on all customer accounts per bank, regardless of the channel of deposit/withdrawal and will be implemented accordingly in the following states of the Federation:Can someone please explain the above? The less cash, the better. Just hope a company will come and make anonymous payments possible, so I don't have to give all by details to everybody I need to transact with. |
