Business › Re: Naira Dramatically Recovers To N405/$1 After MPC Decisions by nextstep(m): 3:20pm On Mar 22, 2017
Half the battle is psychological. If CBN can convince speculators that there's no money to be made from hoarding, then the dollar supply will ease. However, because of the high exchange, a lot of transactions were put on hold by importers, weakening demand. As the Naira gains, we should also see an increase in demand from pent-up orders. Where the equilibrium will be I don't know, but I hope it's around #330 - #370.

SO D YAM, EGUSI, BEANS N PLANTAINS I EAT R IMPORTED ABEI?.
No. But ironically, everything else (hoes, cutlass, tractor, pot, plate), and including the petrol to transport it, is imported. And the farmer and traders need to buy imported things, so their cost to you must increase.

Well said my brother.. What has the poor man got to do with dollar whether high or low. Some have never seen or touched it in real life self.
? Most things the poor man buys, from slippers to singlet to Vaseline is imported with dollars. Even plastic bucket - the pellets and machines are dollar based

The way snakes are being caught and killed in Naija, they will soon go extinct! grin
Until this recession, I didn't see so many people chopping snake.
Politics › Re: Nigeria's Economy Is Finally Out Of Recession - World Economics by nextstep(m): 5:02pm On Mar 21, 2017
"Overall, conditions in Nigeria have improved over the past month and managers are expressing optimism that the economy will continue to grow".

PMB left for 1 month, and the economy got better? Coincidence, or causality? Hmm? wink

See Delta collecting $365M. Upon that we have high unemployment, bad roads, and no light. Yet cost of living is so high. Who is eating this money? angry

Politics › Re: President Buhari Working In His Living Room Office (Photo) by nextstep(m): 5:29pm On Mar 20, 2017
President is paid whether at office or at home. He gets his salary, food, medical bills, transportation, and his residence paid for by the public. He'd better be working 24/7. angry

Civil servants don't get any of the benefits. They are even lucky to collect salary after 6 months. Why compare the two categories?

No! Devil did not creat the tree; but he caused the tragedy. By the way, are you in any way related to devil? If yes, let's be friends. I am just curious.
Devil cause rain, that washed away the soil, that caused the tree to lose its foundation, then fall? This must be a very busy character, planning so many things around the world and letting them unfold. So when a star explodes causing a supernova that wipes away planets, nah devil too abi?

Rip to the dead. If u investigate further you'll find out that the school didn't give permission to these students to go to the waterfall. They probably sneaked out of school. Obey ur teachers/parents so ur days may be long. God does not lie.
Whathuh? Things happen to innocent people all the time. I'm sorry they were at the waterfall at the wrong time. This can happen to anybody, and there's no "reason". RIP

I think its High time when history should be added back to Nigerian school curriculum ,show the weakness of the war, motive behind the war and why it didn't succed and also let young people know that nobody was the winner of the war as acclaimed ,this will go a long way in easing the uneding tribal wars and tribal hate .. we just Need love and trust as a nation .. whether Yoruba or IBO ,itsekiri and ijaw , Hausa and Fulani.. we are all one ,we have been living together since 1914 .. over 100yrs is that not enough time to love one another
Please tell the Europeans who finally found peace after centuries of war had decimated their numbers. It's not history books that teaches people about the futility of war, it's the suffering and casualities

If Biafra could not stand between 1967 and 1970,then I am afraid...
It took the overt effort of UK, and covert support of the US, Netherlands, and many others to join Nigeria in crushing Biafra. Don't forget that

And why did most of the West stay on Nigeria's side? Oil. From London to Amsterdam, they needed to protect their own commercial interests, nevermind the rhetoric about self-determination and democracy

Clap for them for parading necked men. This is laudable.
Its only through proper education that this kind of mentality would be eliminated from blacks ,if not Africans are going no where. Tell me the difficult thing in sending then to police station ?
Because in this Naija, police will also implicate and lock up the people who brought the thieves to the station. Forget who did what, police modus operandi is lock up all parties then collect money for pen and paper. Afterall bail is free. angry

As for me, I'm happy to see the community get involved in shaming them publicly. No need to involve police.

I knew some redundant charlatans would come open their gutter to call GEJ here. Sometimes I wonder, would these guys have allowed us use our phones in peace had the GSM revolution taken place under the era of the ineffectual buffoon? sad

What a crying shame.
It's because people refuse to see the good that GEJ did, that's why we have to remind them. God bless OBJ for planning the project, GEJ for starting it, PMB for completing it, and Biafra for funding it grin

The foolery of the average Naija guy's psyche.
When did the amount spent account for how wealthy you are?
Spend! spend! spend! and spend!
When are we going to start investing and creating jobs?

Too sad if you think about it deeply.
I get your point, but Davido directly and indirectly enables a lot of jobs: music producers, hype men, video vixens, radio personalities, luxury goods sellers, record sellers, etc.

He is the business. Just cuz he's not opening a factory doesn't mean he's not employing people.

Abi oh? But I don't blame the banks... There were not enough traffic to justify the expense of rolling out an ATM and people to supply and service them. Even now, the increased traffic will only last 6 weeks, so again, no point for them

Scatterscatter:
Nice move but the sad thing is that our youths won't take their time to analyse the move before calling PMB and his administration names.

The truth is, for security reasons things can't just fly over Abuja airspace as it is the seat of power and it houses the president and the country's representatives.

Nice move once again
Airplanes entering Abuja airspace apply for clearance. Airlines (including private jets) are vetted. Why not simply do the same for helicopter companies? The blanket ban simply makes no sense.

OP you forgot to add THE CAR SHOULD BE TRAINED TO ALSO AVOID VIO/LASTMA/FRSC/POLICE or better still taught how to bribe them
This is the most important thing, and yet OP left it out. grin

Functioning traffic lights? Better roads? In fact if those companies do their research in Nigeria, their cars will be of much higher quality because of dealing with naija factor.

The car should also be good at honking randomly for no reason, like my brothers in Delta, pressing horn like it's a toy.

God Bless Amechi And Buhari For Completing the project Jonathief abandon.
Because after Baba took his time before appointing his cabinet, or went slow to understand the situation on ground, he suddenly was able to complete this project in a few weeks ba?

They may have made some ceremony, but that line and its trains were in progress all the while. At least we thank God he didn't cancel them out of spite. The funny thing is even Baba himself is beginning to realize how well Jonathan delivered.

Not interested in propaganda, but the facts speak. It's unlikely any president will finish all the projects they start.
