Yes, what else are you doing? You're not just giving, without an exchange (that would be gifting), you're selling what you have to get what you want, whether its bread or dollar. But I may be wrong in my understanding...

Masterviolence:
The digital world is here.

Nations around the world are either planning or are already implementing their CBDC.

But the down side of this is that the government have easy control over your money.

So get ready to be controlled.

Governments have always had easy control of your money: they issue it, they tax it, they (directly and indirectly) decide its value. The vast majority of currency is digital - existing only as bytes on computers in banks and treasury departments - and no actual paper circulates for most transactions around the world.

LordAdam16:

Tinubu met the rate at 460. The rate is currently 756. In only 3 weeks. Some would argue that is an early indictment of the so-called
Tinubunomics

Yes it has changed, but that rate was artificial, in the sense that only a very small segment of Nigerians could realistically access dollar at 460. The 756 you're seeing is the real - market supported rate - what it should have been all along, and indeed was closer to what most Nigerians were getting.

The rate that Naira becomes will be a weighted average of the old (subsidized) rate and the parallel rate (weighted by the number of people who could access either). JPM seems to think 600, I'm thinking it would get worse, even going as high as 800, as multinationals with money currently trapped pull out their gains. Painful in the short term, yes, but the reason the naira is devalued is because we want to buy more than we produce as a country.

Same thing with fuel. We were all paying the higher rate for petrol (it just didn't come out of our pocket, but we were paying it in the lack of service and infrastructure). Now the hope is now that we won't be subsidizing neighbours or smugglers, we will see the gains of paying more out-of-pocket.

The law governing Southern Nigeria (Criminal Code) provides that Adultery is NOT a crime.

However, the Penal Code predominantly used in Northern Nigeria makes Adultery a crime in their parts.

Ironic, because adultery is how one gets a second (or more) wife.

Ah ah!

This one I have to protest oh. Is this the same Okowa that built and rehabilitated roads all over Delta, including riverine areas where they said it couldn't be done? The same Okowa building universities polys and colleges? The same that gave us universal health insurance, youth business funding schemes, and built markets, agro processing industrial park, film village, etc?

Haba Baba Clark, you cant see white and call it blue nah.

The one thing people complained that
"Okowa di stingy" as in he doesn't give money freely and that you must account for disbursed funds. Maybe Baba didn't get any money hence this baseless outburst. Let him come out with solid evidence.

You're not wrong about Tinubu, but in this case the bill was announced last year, signed by Buhari (which surprised me), and made effective May 1.

Tinubu will not leave any stone unturned. Tinubu can turn waste to money, first class isn't something you can plug from a tree.

The difference between first class in accounting and 3rd class in one shitty course is like the difference between Albert Einstein and SS1 Physics students.

A practical case in point is Lagos and Anambra as a case study.

Every blessed day at any given roadblack or junction, thousands of Nigerians are being harassed and bullied, yet ony a couple officers are recorded, and we're lucky sef if they are called to book.

I see these people as heroes, but of course government and many others want to keep Nigerians docile. They won't address the issue of police brutality... until we do endsars pt 2

Nice. I remember Buhari wore Igbo outfit exactly once.

Then he went on to declare 5%.

In other words, these wearing outfits are a cynical attempt to fool the gullible few. Shettima is not even wearing Igbo clothing. A red cap and simulated ivory does not equal Igbo clothing, nor does it even signify you care about Igbo matters.

We want to hear solid plans for how you will improve life for Nigerians, not seeing you rock different outfits.

Dey waste ur time

For 4 years now, I don't need to buy tomatoes and peppers for 8-9 months. Some weeks I can get a basket of tomatoes and can't finish them all so I gift them to people.

To preserve without a fridge, I also grind, then fry them. Put in airtight jars and cover with oil.

Not a waste of time, and I started in a small box, like OP
Saves me a ton of money for 8 months.

Agriculture / Re: Gardening On My Balcony - Tomatoes, Pepper, Groundnut, Ugu, Snail and Catfish by nextstep(m): 6:42pm On Aug 29, 2022
For watering, get an old plastic water bottle, poke tiny holes along one side, then lay the bottle on that side to drip water to your tomatoes.

Edit: I see you already solved that problem. Nice.

As for the flies, I just put small gauze (find one with small holes) or mosquito netting. Should be ok since the garden is small

BTW you will likely need to build a bigger box for your plants. Ideally keep it off the floor so you don't invite mold or ruin the tiles.

Righteousness2:
Prostitution under any guise is evil . It is Sin against GOD and against your body.

Whether secret, private or open prostitution or whether in Europe, Africa, America, space or wherever. It is Evil. It is unGodly.

Sex outside the confines of Marriage is not dating. Neither is it Business or Job. It is Fornication. It is Evil and it will guarantee you Hell Fire.

No Matter the temptation, stick to righteousness, stick to Holiness, stick to Purity. Stick to JESUS Christ.

What about those who lived before Christ, and before Abraham? Or those who will live 1000 years after Christianity is no more? Same hell fire? grin Buddy, your religion is one of but many that have come and gone, all self-confident that theirs was the true way.

But back to the matter at hand: it seems she quit - not because she didn't like it - but because the house was cheating her and giving only 10 euros per client. Prostitution is work. To make good money, one has to work really hard to be a desired escort that people will call on demand. Jesus Christ has never gone to the market to buy food for anyone or pay for medicines for a sick child. What I would rather self-righteous people do is fix the problems in their own lives, and their own churches. Where was all the indignation when pastors were molesting peoples' wives and small children? Where's the indignation when a pastor uses tithes to buy a jet when the children in their hometown lack basic things?

Wow. Just wow. Not just a subset, or a particular neighborhood, but all of Yoruba? I wish you didn't harbor this kind of sentiment. Have you travelled or just repeating some tribophobic statements you've heard?

I've been to many places in Nigeria, and nobody holds a monipoly on cleanliness or dirty environment.

As for my folks close to the Niger river, our favorite hobby is to bring out the trash on rainy days, so it all washes downstream and clogs up drainage, stinking up the place. And really, are we going to ignore the reeking delights of parts of Aba or Owerri?

We all feel overwhelmed with work, and the various stresses of life.

We both need to be understanding and sensitive, but we also need to aim to satisfy our partner.

Ladies: how do you feel if a man always says that he is too tired to listen to your daily news broadcast? It's the same way men feel when ladies say they're too tired.

BTW I don't know why women like to share so much detail, when all I want is a 2-minute summary. grin

Your mindset is worrisome, and what kind of society do you want to raise your children in, if what happens in your immediate environs is no concern of yours, then kidnapers, Ritualist and Robbers too can have a field day for all you care abi... continue

I think you misunderstood me: a person's choice of dressing is of no concern to me. It does not feed my children, nor does it harm them.

This does not automatically translate that I don't care about my environs. I care that we don't litter (it affects their health; I care that we have jobs so people don't resort to the crimes you mentioned (since my children can be harmed by these).

In fact, if we didn't spend so much time caring about things that don't matter, we can better deal with the things that do. The same people abusing a cross dresser will turn mute when a policeman is whipping an innocent person; or they will hail a known kidnapper because he dashes people 2k.

How you can make the leap from not caring about dressing, to not caring about ritualists is quite surprising to me

Fashion / Re: Crossdresser Challenges Market Men Who Harassed Him For Dressing Like A Lady by nextstep(m): 10:55pm On Aug 23, 2022
People just like to harass others for no reason... they are all looking for an excuse to vent their frustrations. If they're not harassing women for wearing trousers (the reigning form of women cross-dressing early last century), they are harassing men for wearing dresses in this century.

The same arguments: it's immoral, it's against nature, or against God's teaching, are always the same, used to justify prejudice. God did not give anybody any clothes when He made them, yet somehow people think He would be upset that somebody chose to wear a piece of cotton in a particular way. Just as most people currently have no issue with women in jeans , they will also have no problem with men in dresses in the near future.

As for me, that is not my concern in life. My focus is how to feed my children, enjoy life with my wife, and have a happy time while on this Earth. What somebody wears is not going to give me any kind of stress abeg.
