Meh, I don't want to marry somebody I don't love, nor can I marry someone who doesn't love me. |
Man is making money in a real business, and people are here pressing phone and abusing each other. The owners of Calendly, and all the banks are laughing having cocktails together. We uplift our brother from the West, it's very heartening and ecouraging. |
Another $20b gone be dat. This steel plan cannot be allowed to work by the West, since it will threaten their interests. You cannot give transformative industries to people who don't want you to succeed. I know I'll read about another $30b in 10 years time, maybe this time to the Chinese. Even with those obsolete Russian parts, Russians were doing something with it years ago. We don't need to upgrade... we just need to turn iron ore into flat steel. 1800's technology. |
Congratulations bae. I just wish you happiness in all you do Hopefully the "hanty go and marry" crew can rest now. ![]() For where? Na to go and disturb another person peacefully enjoying her life. Next up, we have the "hanty when u go born" crew. Oya over to una ![]() |
DaBogu:Forget sin. Have the married woman and the donor talked with the husband? The husband better be fully aware and accept. I mean, that's the man who would assume the role of father for the child. Otherwise that's parental fraud brewing. |
Seeing some real OGs on this 2013 thread. Wawu! ![]() |
This is a step in the right direction... hopefully this is sustainable. Give us your guns, and trust us to help you forge a meaningful living. So that Buhari and his brothers can slaughter them like goats, abi? Gov't should address the real concerns of IPOB and not coax members with false promises. |
Gospel2Day:From my point of view, they are the same thing: they are all foreign (non- West African) fashions, from the middle East, based on Abrahamic faiths. They are different takes on imposing modesty on women. The identity is already external, so why be picky about which external identity? My take is that somehow people don't want a Christian lady identifying (by dress) as a Muslim lady, and my complaint is: either way, these are both foreign identities/fashions, so why should we be up in arms over either one? She could dress up in a kimono for all I care, or wear akwa-ocha or a large iro and buba. Either we say she should not dress up as a middle-Eastern lady (whether from Israel or from Saudi Arabia), or we allow her to identify however she wishes. And BTW: the freedom to creatively fashion your own identity includes copying. That's what freedom is. |
You say wetin? Well 1/8 bread is better than none I suppose. ![]()

FullBlastLight: Zico5:Humans are funny sha... so piercing a baby girls ears (causing pain) is OK, as long as it's just one? But three and we're up in arms? Please explain why the same ouraged energy is not being visited on "apparently wholesome people" putting an earring on a toddler? And cutting up a child's face (in the name of tribal marks) was ok for a long while, though I'm glad to see that rubbish fizzle out. I personally don't care either way, but in fact my daughters' ears are not pierced, till maybe they are 18. |
Justpassingby45:Please realize that the "X" comes from the Greek word Khrīstós (Χριστός in Greek), and that this was how Christ was written way before the English adopted the religion and wrote it using Latin letters. If you really want to be pedantic, one could argue that using "X" instead of "Chri" is actually more correct and true to the original word. |
Kdon2: Gospel2Day:What's the fundamental difference between hijab and nun's habit (or should we call it habij?), which are almost anagrams of each other?
|
mu2sa2:Please don't be like that. What makes you say that? I can't afford a new car but when used IVM cars become available, I will buy one for sure. We buy products from each other (Dangote's cement and sugar, Otedola's oil, Adenuga's wireless, Uzodike's wires, Innoson's car, Hassan's onions and tomatoes, Adelakun's yams, Osagie's garri). It's all good... don't let misguided hatred keep you from supporting your own during your time on Earth. |
COMPAQ:So like SARS. Except they will abandon their mandate and instead extort innocent people. I wish what you said was possible in this country, my brother. Nigeria where police ask you for petrol money before going to do their jobs. |
I hope they realize the train was not on the express road ![]() |
saphiere:Yes he was. And yet, tens of millions of Nigerians who are gainfully employed commit no crimes. If you cut down employment, those same people *will* resort to crime (either in order to eat, or just because there's nothing else to do) "Idle hands are the devil's workshop" is not just idle talk (forgive the pun) |
Commendable, but this is not what we should be celebrating. Clean up should be part of our character... how many times will the governor participate in clean up exercise when we are the ones littering like fowl? We need consistent sanitation services, not these one-offs, and our people have to be sensitized the the fact that they are the ones who should keep their own environment clean. Gov Soludo should take things easy... otherwise he will get exhausted trying to do everything. |
Nicholaspepe:And the OP is not hustling? Precisely because jobs are scarce, it makes sense to be exact with your chosen words. People lose appointments over trivial things like grammar. |
saphiere:One of the best ways to stop rape is to have people gainfully employed. Idle minds and all that... besides we have more than enough threads on negative news, so it's quite refreshing to read something lightweight and positive. saphiere:Staff is not a singular verb. You don't say "a staff", unless you mean the stick; you'd say "a member of staff", or even "one of the staff". Similarly, "an admin staff" is out of place because it tries to make staff singular. |
Both these forms are correct: Request for the redesignation of my appointment to administrative staff Request for the redesignation of my appointment as administrative staff In the first, redesignation is a verb. I prefer it because it emphasizes change from-to In the second, redesignation is a state of being. It doesn't really emphasize the change. It can be ambiguous: redesignate (to what?) as administrative staff. You also won't use the form with "an administrative staff", because staff is plural. (e.g. a member of staff; a staff member; but not a staff) |
Ghana, Senegal, and Cameroon Even if Nigeria had made it I would still support the above. They are about the game, unlike our Eagles only about the fame. |
siofra:You sey wetin? Mistakenly? LWKMD The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior... a word is enough for the wise. |
When I was single, I didn't like dating my neighbors because they would always be in my business. - I want to have the freedom to go and come without answering to monitoring spirit. - I want to date other ladies, and having a neighbor as an ex would cramp my style. - I don't want to see the girl I'm dating all the damn time... familiarity breeds contempt. Don't date at work, don't date the neighbor, and if possible avoid the ones at your church. |
IamCeazer:And if the guy dey dash 750k anyhow, you think he will have 4 million? Abeg, let the guy pay what he borrowed. Since I was small, my mama told me: "never lend, but dash what you can afford". Great words to prevent stories that touch. |
ChristineC:Just like English is an oyinbo thing (i.e. not my language, even though I use it to communicate), I can make a distinction between my religion and oyinbo religion. Where did this particular story (Christianity) originate? Israel. Then the Europeans (and Ethiopians) took that story and made it their way of life for nearly two millennia. Finally they brought their own story to West Africa when they came looking for territories to conquer. It's not my story, nor the story of my predecessors. That's why it's an oyinbo thing. What makes it more special than the ones we have about Olodumare and Chineke and Boorii? Same premise: there's a supreme being, who typically always existed and created the world; there are spiritual beings that can manifest in the physical world for good and bad; there are intercessors that help humans get closer with the supreme. Why is one particular version of this premise more "correct" than mine? |
harmargedon:Right... he is the clueless one. Upon all the advice from members of the Department Of Energy, and multiple other agencies and departments. No, it's you who sees more clearly than all the people in charge of the strategic reserves. |
kiddkash:Oyinbos taught you everything you know about Christianity. They are changing their minds about religion, and soon you (or if not, the next generation of Africans), will follow suit. Christianity is barely 100 years old in West Africa, and before it we lived happily without some externally-imposed version of "righteousness" |
Uprightness100:So it's Nigeria that will survive God's wrath? ![]() Sofry sofry... oh... the Europeans that brought you Jesus will drag you into the modern age, don't worry. No be oyinbo wey teach you this scripture? Now oyinbo dey tell you sey the scripture na passé |
Campaign things... Oga Dino, please save your tears. We already know our President is ineffective, and the only time he does anything is to clamp down on those who seek self-determination or those who protest against injustice and incompetence. |
Amerengues2:As you've realized, star studded (as in individuals) is not the same thing as a team playing cohesively. I even commend them for drawing, I was predicting the game to be 0:1 Black Stars |
I'm impressed to see so many young and well-qualified people. Jisie ike and do us proud - your brother from across Orimiri |
No no oh! Let him fulfill his term jejely. 8 full years, so nobody will start talking about "his grand plan to save Nigeria was interrupted", or "power should remain in North because he didn't finish" It's not when you get to the tail, you tell me you don't like eating lizard. |
