Later these same soldiers will be drated to the creeks to go and kill innocent people, abi? Now they should learn from this point. Denying them of their entitlements will encourage them to aid oil bunkerers in oil bunkering business so that at the end of the day even if their entitlements are not paid to them they have gotten it already. shine your eyes our dear soldiers.

BusinessRe: Nigeria–Russia Set To Sign Nuclear Deal by Nezan(m): 5:51pm On Jun 29, 2009
manny4life:
A perfect metaphor for a future development in Nigeria. When it all begins to get down, lets just hope Nigeria would be able to break out at least or for the most part speak out. As much as I am not against development, this nuclear stuff ain't gonna go down well. This is what I call a total rip-off, Nigeria just signed her death warrant. If Nigeria seeks growth and development, it should first invest in its Education system, Healthcare Network, encourage Industrial Development, Defense and Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Transportation, and the whole nine yards.

In all, time would only tell if Nigeria benefits positively from all this trade agreements and take overs or the usual rip-off game. I believe Nigeria would be smart enough to rebuke her counterpart should they default per their agreement.

CrimeRe: Popular Masqurade Charged With Theft. by Nezan(m): 5:42pm On Jun 29, 2009
fuke:
Y ee pa Ara orun ti sewon, serves him right . I must add that masguerades in some paces are devoid of violence that characterises Ibadan festival ,especially this alapansanpa. Miscreants use it to steal and maim and in some cases, for vendeta. In some other climes, masquerades do entertain with drums and dance and they are said to have healing therapy. At last I can remember once, when I was small, the sound of the drums of our own alapansanpa, not Ibadan own o, sent my fever scampering. Now let me give a coupe of examples where masquerades do entertain. One, if you watch Aladunwo masquerade at Oke Imesi i nEkiti state, you will have a memory you wont forget for life. The crowd, the atmosphere can only be compared to Man U Versus Liverpool FA final minus the noise. Two, At Effon Alaye, the gate way to Ekiti State, their Alabalu masquerade is the acme of cultural entertainment. No cutlasses and sticks as you have in Ibadan. This masquerade will likely make an outing this year and i will keep interested nairalanders posted.

PoliticsRe: Adeboye Wins Living Legend Polls by Nezan(m): 4:11pm On Jun 29, 2009
arogbowei:
To me, my living legends are those market women, (mama kelechi, mama sikira, mama eno, mama tombra, mama hafsat). These women are up every morning, as early as 4.00 am to commute for more than 6 hours daily to and from the various markets in Lagos to buy wares for their kiosks. And they will remain standing from the time they return from that time till 10 . pm. And the next day, they are up repeating the same routine without any protestation. In most cases, these faceless women are the bread winners of their respective families, some of them are widows, others held forth for their husbands who have been rendered impotent by bad leaders some of whom we now parade as living legends.

These women are my living legends, their staying power has not cease to amaze me.
True, and you can see them in every town. I remember vividly the time my pappy died. Mum was up and doing then. Her strenght has turned me into what am I today. She is living legend, not some of thieving people who care only for themselves. angry

Christians in the house, Artificiality is evil and it is wickedness in the eye of God.U don't need to make urself attractive and appealing if u are a true believer.God is still in the business of giving a right spouse if u are a
faithful child of His.The real problem is that unbelieve and imorality has deaden the spiritual sensitivity of most christians this days.

Do u know the origin of these things u call makeup?they are from the pit of hell.Believe me many ladies who use this thing cannot stand the infiltration of demons.u see many of them having spirit husband and all sort of demonic manipulation.

I want u all to know(christians) no matter how widely acceptable these things are ,they don't have the approval of God almighty.Every thing that is not right is sin.And all sin is punishable in hell fire

FamilyRe: Ladies: Can You Be A Housewife? by Nezan(m): 2:15pm On Jun 29, 2009
Consultant:
It's interesting. I currently work full time, and my job involves a lot of travelling. Before I had kids, I would have said NEVER to being a house wife (stay-at-home mum, whatever). But now that I have two kids, the only reason why I still have this job is because my husband and I have a lot of responsibilities. My dream would be to have a job that I can do from home - maybe write, or run my own business, so that I can spend more time with my children. I feel so responsible for them, and I want to 'train them up in the way of the Lord', and that takes time and attention. That's why I admire Michelle Obama so much - giving up a high paying job and just being a mum - and looking like she's have a great time doing it.

I guess all women can't be the same, so I don't expect that all women should share my sentiments. If I did stay at home, though, I would have to be doing a lot more than housework, because God gave me these brains for a reason, and it's not just to vacuum!
This reply I think, is from a 'real woman' different from the ones claiming to be 'real' on this thread angry
IslamRe: Islam And My Profession - I Need Help by Nezan(m): 2:06pm On Jun 29, 2009
Bashbaba:
Just as we have jobless non muslims whose unclothedness have not been able to provide jobs. This buttresses the point earlier made by Olabowale that even NUDITY could not provide a job that Allah refuses to will.Ofcourse if one of the prequisites for getting a job even in a corporate world is unclothedness, then you will agree with me that conscious muslims would have remained unemployed throughout their lives while no non muslims will cry for jobs.BUT THIS IS NOT SO.It Is by HIS will. And because of this, muslims put thier trust in Allah and Allah alone.Whatever He wills for them,NOBODY can go against it.Whatever He denies us,No SOUL can give them unto us.And this is supposed to be the watchwords of all muslims.

true. Foriegn fim makers are looking for cheap sites but the cheap sites MUST have standard equipments. You certainly dont expect them to fly all their equipments to New zealand? Do You know what it'll cost?? They come with some, but definitely need many other stuff to be on location
Do you know that the opening scenes of Mummy 2 were shot in Morocco? Universal studios just flew in Crew members, The Rock and cast local actors as his soldiers. Then brought in their props, and hired some equipments from a Studio in Morocco and took the shots they wanted.

Before we see foriegn investors, we MUST have at least one or two standard Movie studios in Nigeria
we r back to this again?

EducationRe: Why Is The English Language Skill Of Nigerian Graduate So Appalling? by Nezan(m): 1:22pm On Jun 29, 2009
omar22:
Having a distinction in English Language doesn’t mean you are more equipped to be a speaker in the house of parliament, and then you mentioned pronunciation; well know so practically you’re saying that an Indian with an Indian accent would be at disadvantage because he/she couldn’t pronounce a word with the queens accent. This is another draw back on the Nigerian economy and an increase of unemployment. Tell me which role does English language play when securing an engineering position, or an analyst or an accountant?

I live in England, the best person gets the Job and not the person who could waffle his way through a job interview, they are so many people working in Europe, in high powered roles but their English is hideous but as time goes on they learn or improve but these people are valuable to their organisation because of their skills to carry out their job is important to the other than who good their English is. Indians, Asians, Eastern Europeans etc.
That is wat I want us all to understand.

vigasimple:
I have no obsession with YAR A'CLUELESS other than that I am so angry that NIGERIA IS NOT MOVING. our so called first graduate President, he said he will be servant leader, rule of law , 7 point agenda , vision 2020, honest government etc.

1. Now, let us start with his graduate, does he fare better that a failed GCSE student?.

2. Servant leadership- what exactly is he leading ? - OBJ may be a grarrison commander but at least he lead in a way. He assemble some technocrat to solve the banking situation etc

3. Rule of law,- really?, when he cladestinely removed Ribadu from EFCC sending him to college under a false pretence and appointing someone else to his office while at college.

4. 7 point agenda- once comedian start to make something a joke, it is indeed a joke. The joke in town is now let him do 1 point agenda. Do you know the whole 7 point agenda, if you do, please name them, if you finish naming them, please tell me after 2 years in office which of them has he carried out.

5. Vision 2020 - Nigeria is presently about 40 or 50 leading economy in the world, 2020 is barely 11 years from here and having wasted 2 years, election campaign to start next year, you sincerely think that we will not move southwise rather upward to 30something

6. When the guy was campaigning in April 2007 before the election he said that ' he will declare emergency on power within 100 days of assuming office' , we are now well over 750 days he still hasn't done so, on the most important problem of our times.

7. HONESTY. The guy is very sick, and obvious, and he is in denial. If one is very fit mentally but unfit physically it will affect productivity. I am not a doctor but I am connvinced that he is not fit physically and mentally (like most of our former President who are not fit mentally). The first attribute of a leader or a good one is to be honest with people as much as possible. If he is doing his job he may succeed in masking his illness BUT one brought the question about the other.

If Nigeria is YAR A'DO NOTHING father's business he will never employ someone like himself.

I hope you understand my anger now rather than obsession,
YAR A'DO NOTHING and the PDP are just bunch of a A DO NOTHING PARTY.

Borrowing your signature, these guys are agrressive minority who imposed themselves upon us through family and military connections. Anyone can take that to the bank and cash it.

Can't stop laughing off the petiness of some people. I don't know why this post should turn to Ghana Vs Nigeria. I hear people say 'You are 419' and the other reply 'You are jealous of us' and stuff. I read the posts and I'm like wow! How can some people be petty? We are not looking for who is better than who for Christ sake because both countries should be ashamed that Malaysia who once borrowed from both countries is better than both now. The argument should rather be 'How can we make this useless ECOWAS work' so the every nation in the block can grow and be happy. After all what is the benefit in being the richest amongst the most poorests?

I'm really glad that its just a few who are making this fuss and not the majority of the people of both countries. Is about time that we expecially the youth, take up the mantle of leadership and change the destiny of this continent because believe me is in our own hands.

God bless Nigeria, God bless Ghana, God bless Ecowas, God bless the whole Africa and God bless the Black race.

Good day
