Nigeria Vice Presidential Debate: My Observation- U.S. Ikelebe. The Just Concluded Nigeria Vice-Presidential Debate, what passing-bells for the ears of those who watched the Debate? The stuttering syntaxes of the debaters’ that most voters can't comprehend. Here are my observations: KHADIJAH ABDULLAHI-IYA is a woman with management insight but stuttering to air her ideas. Unquestionably, she is not a good orator nor good for the public symbol as VP. GANIYU GALADIMA: He has in-depth knowledge of the problems bedeviling Nigeria. However, he lacks the basic economic knowledge, skills, and techniques to heal the wound. UMMA GETSO: An intelligent lad, with a growing head but trying to put a hat bigger than her head. YEMI OSINBAJO: I thought Osinbajo was just a pastor and a lawyer, he is more than that. He had multi-facets skills; politics, law, economics, religion, and business. In all measured, he demonstrated not just having the skills of identifying problems but also, a genetical problem solver. We’ve done these…, we will do this…., and if that is done, we will get here. These assertions are what separates a wheat from the chaffs. What separates an inner reality from the outer realities. As stated by Prof. Abu Abdurrahman, Professor Osinbajo appeared in the debate only as a mark of respect for Nigerians. It is obvious it’s an “unfair match”, the stutters standing on the platform are nowhere close to the smooth talker. What Professor Osinbajo is seeing in his bedroom, even when his co-debaters climb a mountain, they can’t see it. MR. PETER OBI: Proved to be an emotional intelligence leader who understands what people want to hear. He is an outpourer of political- economics terminologies, parroting figures that lack sources and empirical validity. No doubt, Obi read extensively. Unfortunately, a search engine optimization cannot make a pig fly to places. Until he embodies them into action, they’re nothing but outsourcing words from the pith of lies. How can Nigeria near look like China when money and corruption are ruining the land, crooked politicians betray the working people, pocketing the profits and treating them like sheep? Attitude to solve the problem makes the difference. If Nigeria must near look like China, we must bring corruption to a minimal level. A country which continuously experienced massive looting to the bone marrow can never overcome from her wounds nor appear like China. |
SolutionMee:Self illusion. Osinbajo demolished Obi at the debate.Go view it again. Is it by quoting fake statistics that you win debate? |
After this debate,Nigeria is moving to the next level. Clearly Osinbajo is a better economic team leader. A professor of law teaching Obi economics! Labour is not the only factor of production :DAfter this debate,Nigeria is moving to the next level. Clearly Osinbajo is a better economic team leader. A professor of law teaching Obi economics! Labour is not the only factor of production |
tesppidd:The simple truth. I am more comfortable with PYO. handling our economy, than Obi. Imaging him teaching Obi economics, that labour is not the only factor of production! |
LieDetector:Your own lack of comprehension is very odious! How on earth can you suggest that a policy to curb an economic and financial crime, is not an economic policy? Political affiliations have diminished so many people's sense of reasoning.... What a shame! |

Jones4190:hmmmm.... |
Mrblaster:Exactly! As a matter of fact,If I were to present a seminar paper on the top ten economic policies that will transform Nigeria's economy, a more systematic and technologically driven fight against corruption, would top my list. Sadly many political mumus will clap for Peter Obi. Which other economic policy can work with monumental corruption? |
corruption is an economic and financial crime. Anti-corruption is a major economic policy. How do you develop the economy without preventing corruption. And Peter Obi supposed to have attended Harvard executive training program? |
duroc:Seems you need your brains more than others. There is an existing electoral law . What the President is saying is that the law should be applied prospectively and not retrospectively. The game has already begun, too late to change the rules. |
2black1:It is not when it was passed but when it was accented to by the president that matters. Unfortunately, primaries have been held under the old law .. This is common sense na! |
Good point from the President. You do not change the rules when the game had started. Cases are already in court concerning 2018 primaries . The law should be applied prospectively and not retrospectively . |
Wow! As head of state? Integrity is in the blood! |
don4real18:Thank you. I am beginning to wonder the real objective of the owner of Nairaland for always allowing this type of fake headlines that diminish us as a people. This is not about Buhari, but the dignity of Nigeria, home and abroad. 2019 will come and go,but we shall be left With the consequences of stupidity. |
GoodGovernance: GoodGovernance:This is a good eye opener for those who think only so much money can change a life. How many graduates earn N96k. I even find it hard to fault the practicality of this story. |
The OP has no shame. The issue is the reason why Atiku cannot go to USA: CORRUPTION Atiku Abubakar had been indicted for CORRUPTION in USA. He has been playing his politics well in Nigeria,by always aligning with the ruling party, unless anytime he wants to contest for presidency,by which time witch hunting could be deduced, for any attempt to probe him. |

2019 will come and go. Buhari will win We shall have peace from those using insurgency to play politics, exactly the way the terrorists want it for publicity . What is the big deal if govt decides to play down the effectiveness of terrorists? |
Everything for 2019. Shioor. |
ogunsbanjul:Don't be too disappointed. It is a very deceitful political propaganda that is meant for only fools. And Iam very sure you are not a fool. |
Is terrorism a good news that should be reported always? Anyway, it is good news for some ![]() |
Sammyblaq:I can only but pity you. I had rather a ''failed'' Buhari repeat the class than admit Atiku. After all many successful and great men went through series of failures in life.Their integrity made the difference. So you want to compare Buhari's integrity,no matter how ''low'', with that of Atiku? |
AnyoneButAtiku:End of Discussion. Nairaland is full of regularly paid wailers.Their job is to hijack every commentary section on the internet. If you know you know. #IStandWithBuhari |
kahal29:Did Buhari tell you he wrote his WAEC in Ghana? Only mischief makers will show a fake WAEC Ghana correspondence, when the exam involved was written in Nigeria. WAEC Nigeria and Cambridge itself, are the only authentic source of confirmation. http://dailypost.ng/2015/01/28/cambridge-assessment-publishes-details-confirming-buharis-wasc-results/ |
cute9ja:Don't mind him. It is what they are paid to do. Continual and aggressive spreading of fake information, just to discredit the man of integrity They have tried very hard and failed woefully! Sane people know that our president indeed has certificates. |
Keyamo informed all Buhari support groups to get in touch with the campaign headquarters of President Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organisation at Plot 718 Herbert Macaulay Way, Central Business District, Abuja, in order for their activities to be streamlined. “We shall not tolerate any individual or groups, purporting to act on behalf of the President, going round ministries, corporate bodies or individuals to raise funds for the campaign,” he said. President Muhammadbu Buhari has disowned a campaign organization with the name ‘Buhari Campaign organisation’. Festus Keyamo (SAN), Director, Strategic Communications of the President Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organisation, made the announcement on Friday evening. BCO had written the Ministry of Power, Works and Housing soliciting jobs for certain named companies in order to “cushion the financial pressure on the organisation”. However, according to Keyamo, the said organisation does not have the authority or mandate of the President to solicit or raise funds from public institutions, corporate bodies or individuals for any campaign activity whatsoever. “The attention of President Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organisation has been drawn to a letter making the rounds by one self-styled ‘Buhari Campaign Organisation,” said Keyamo. “The letter is addressed to the Ministry of Power, Works and Housing soliciting for jobs for certain named companies in order to ‘cushion the financial pressure on the organisation’. The letter was signed by three named individuals. “Let it be known to the general public and all unsuspecting individuals and organizations that the said letter DID NOT emanate from President Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organisation nor was it authorized by it. The said ‘Buhari Campaign Organisation’ does not have the authority or mandate of President Muhammadu Buhari to solicit or raise funds from public institutions, corporate bodies or individuals for any campaign activity whatsoever. This is also a notice to all such public institutions not to honour any such requests as the one from the amorphous ‘Buhari Campaign Organisation’. “As previously announced, the ONLY approved campaign organisation of the President is the President Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organisation headed by His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi as the Director-General. A Campaign Council would also be announced in due course. “We also wish to re-iterate for the umpteenth time that President Muhammadu Buhari and his campaign organisation WILL NOT have recourse to the public coffers or public funds to run the campaign. We intend to make a complete departure from past practices of the main opposition where they looted the public treasury to run their campaigns.” Keyamo informed all Buhari support groups to get in touch with the campaign headquarters of President Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organisation at Plot 718 Herbert Macaulay Way, Central Business District, Abuja, in order for their activities to be streamlined. “We shall not tolerate any individual or groups, purporting to act on behalf of the President, going round ministries, corporate bodies or individuals to raise funds for the campaign,” the statement maintained, adding that “such individual or groups would be handed over to law-enforcement agencies”. http://saharareporters.com/2018/11/02/breaking-buhari-disowns-campaign-organisation |
Doyin2:What APC dominated Kano house of assembly is doing is quite commendable. It can only boost the image of the party. Buhari fighting corruption does not mean a 100% corruption free society. |
