naijasexy]^^ It does not suck to come from such a family! It is called setting standards for oneself. If you are okay with marrying a woman who begs for alms on the street (nothing wrong with that!), not everyone is.
A lot of people with this your mentality marry at 48 and in such cases, the ladies pay their own dowry while the men are really "wifed" by their brides. @Op, So long I am comfortable with her and she understands my ability financially, It surely would get better, after all her family is not baptized with poverty. |
Phems: I think you are right, but what if it is a SERIOUS secret which you think your spouse might not be able to get over with.In such cases, i wd use someone to illustrate the gist. sweetie, hmm someone i know closely is having this issue, do u think she shd tell her spouse? I would watch his reaction first, if its the over my dead body response, ok oo tnks, if its no she can tell her husband, i think he should understand response, gud he would soon hear the the truth, if its she should tell her hubby lets see what he says first, ok till later date, na psyching i go use first ooo |
No matter how religious, truthful, we are, some secrets would die with us. Some partners are not even matured enough to handle hard core secrets. Any secret that would not hurt a union should be willingly divulged or kept so ![]() |
in those years in lagos anytime we saw cattle eaglets flying in the sky we would raise our hands to them and wave our fingers furiously while singing something like "se-ke-le-ke, se-ke-le-ke sometin sometin" and just like magic by the time the birds fly by we would have white streaks in most of our finger nails. se-ke-ke-le-ke nyem nbo ocha were nbo ojii ![]() My aunt once took us girls to a certain anthill and said we should dance and that after we wd have strech-marks on our waistlines that it adds to a woman's beauty. I refused cos i was so afraid of the name she called it. "EMUMO" then it sounded UMUMMO"(Spirit children) to me. My other cousins developed stretch marks with time but to me it was not beautiful as she made us believe |
Crown Prince: Wot concotion are you using now cos ur husband suppose to know before marrying you dat you are a bleeping possess hore. Its quite a pity u have access to the internet. |
Obiagu1: Oh really! It's interesting to know that those that serve in the East could not source enough fund to put up signposts.@ Bolded Life is what u make out of it. We all cannot be products of serve-your-self syndrome. What she did is noble and should be seen so. I am Igbo, I served in the North. lets be fair here Northerners revere Corps members to the extent that you would become so attached. Its unfortunate what politicians and religious bigots have reduced our feelings to our fatherland to. Down here in the east, even parents wd object to corps member teaching their children talkless of allowing medical corps members treat them. In the North as a corps member you are a mini God if not for the religious segregation. |
Obiagu1: In my opinion, she is naive or trying to be a "heroine". What about similar schools in Akwa Ibom or are there none like that?I think you are more naive than anyone can imagin. What do consider the essence of community Development (CD) in the NYSC scheme. See how myopic and insensitive most of us reason. Where is home and what is Charity? |
Very annoying! why killing her if what he wanted was money. Wasting her life, career and certificates. what a wicked world. |
Is this the new kidnapping uniform? |
^^ I alwyas voice my opinion against overspeeding when traveling with commercial vehicle. Me too but most times passengers see one as a bushman and someone who is not in a hurry then if one keeps quite too he dies like a chicken on a Christmas day. On some occasions i have disembarked to board another bus especially not too distant journeys. |
Oh God have mercy. May the soul of the departed rest in peace. Amen. Honestly I don't mind what the drivers think or other passenger once a driver is over speeding. I will keep cautioning him but the pain of it all is that sometime most passenger would even think he is doing them favour to get to their destination quick. |
In some issues let us reason the African way, sometimes all this oyinbo mentality wd only bring more problem. How can not dishing out food be a solution to a problem between husband and wife, i hope when the husband stops contributing to feeding allowance no one would call him names. |
Abu Qaga/Boko Haram 0-1 First 45 mins. Second half- I see Abu Qaga make some changes to accommodate SSS and I envisage a total win against Boko Boys by these changes |
kayzzy24: What we are saying here is not about having shrine, its is what they are usin it for.so u re saying using human being for rituals is nt a crime,or using dat to commit a crime. No tribe that doesn't hav a shrine. And they went there because of the information they gathered. Oga police, more power to ur elbow. Indeed, its more power to his brain cos he is working at very low voltage. He arrested two men and was not sure what they were doing in their shrine. According to him "either they perform rituals, defraud or do both" when has assumption turn to evidence. This is why we keep applauding dullards as dukes |
He said: "I gave them directives and they swung action that eventually led to the arrest of two people at the shrine. For now all we can say is that they are using this place for either rituals or to defraud people or both". And you want us to clap for you. When Boko Haram are killing innocent people u are busy visiting shrines. Show us evidence that they are ritualist before assumptions kills you. |
deshclones: You are right bro..but am basing my argument on what transpired btwn him and the osha traders during his gubernatorial campaign...they told him to decamp from acn if he wants their votes..Ngige is well loved by all and sundry..but his party affiliation is a complete no noyou are abjectly wrong. people were voting based on the personality during the last election. Ngige won basically on his name and personality so even he was running on QQQ party he wd have still won. Go to villages some people voted out their candidate because the just wanted to vote Ngiges party AZIZA. Obi was rigged into office. Ngige wd floor him and soludo with any party of his choice. |
I also noticed that after the incidence of shooting in Onitsha yesterday along Awka road, some police men have used that opportunity to return to some junctions. I am yet to ascertain if they are collecting roja but people have been wondering their stay there. |
One cannot say exactly how much they were carrying. The lady cashier i gathered died this morning too while the said filling station is still under lock and key. I presume it must be turnover of Friday, Saturday and Sunday they were going to deposit. I said this because of the time of the incident. The shooting happened just a stone throw from my office. |
He is unelectable. period! For political offices, he is not fit here or there. Its good he understands he is already cancelled like a mistake on a rough paper. |
neyostica: Am in my first year, and it has been hell on earth so far, i married her cos of her beauty, but she has been a pain in d butt, the fact that she hasn't conceived after 7mnths doesn't help d situation either, am thinking of running awayAs much as one may say, u married for the wrong reason, i must say you can still make the marriage work especially if she too is ready. To control a beautiful woman who also understands that u adore her beauty requires strong will. Stand in and be the man without maltreating her. Pull yourself together and believe in yourself and never make her a God in your inner sense but always care for her needs. When she knows that you are not afraid to loose her she will brace up. As for children God is faithful but remember you need a good environment to bring up children so concentrate on building your home so that when the children come, they would experience love as it ought to be. God bless you. |
ZUBY77: Week 12 and 13 - We went to a native (medical) doctor to confirm that the period was actually lost. The first doctor encouraged us to have hope because we will find it after nine months. The second doctor also said the same, so we resigned to waiting (we are still waiting even now). My concern is that her belly is swelling and that makes the waiting a one sided affair for me. The downside is that the whole blame of loosing the period is on me. I couldnt disagree because she made me understand that she had been seeing the period monthly for the past 12 years and that it couldnt just have disappeared less than three months after she came to live in my house without me having a hand in the disappearance. Come to think of it, i think she was right. no thief shall go unpunished. period or cash! |
I love this thread for sure. My first year was the best, we were living in different states and visits every two weeks alternatively. I loved the suspense, the gifts, the tears of pains of living each other for the next two weeks, the hunger and the waits. Then the second year, i had to join him and hell was let loose. so much quarrels over dos and don"ts, habits and finances. Thank God we are better today, giving up our excesses and understanding our differences, respecting our strength and building each others weakness. Honey,In All your I AM THE MAN, I cherish your honesty, readiness to makeup and commitment to our union. You are the man ![]() |
yup I think that one at the left was the real governors office
They hv been deceiving us for long. Burn documents in a batcher house to kill evidence and they call press to blind us.And who are those standing out there, Government house staff? yeye |
Let him manage the office by the left hand side there. At least he was lucky there is still a structure left. Can anyone see that mansion at the left hand side. |

WETIN DO OLU JACOBS FOR HAND? |
op. Sometimes it could be frustrating trying to handle a very disobedient child. I must tell you it requires very stern measure. I once visited a friend who has a girl of about 4yrs with wild wild attitude and i advised the mother to allow me stay with the girl for sometimes. First she would never go back on whatever she wanted eg. she must open d door for visitors and where it was opened by someone else, the visitor wd either go out and come in or there wont be peace. And i said no! the first day i dealt with her, i opened the door for my visitor and she cried like hell, throwing everything away and i got angry and she got the smacking of her life. I insisted she should never open door for a visitor without my permission. Within 1 month, her mother was asking how i was able to get her right and today she is my foster daughter. You can take him to a trusted friend for sometime and believe me he wd come back better, sometimes such children undermine parents cos of initial over pampering. 2. Don't let your child get used to one pattern of punishment or your reaction. Above all I dont know your religion but take him to children's fellowship and insist he participate fully. |
Thats the problem of Over-nite-rich illiterates. treating their wards as if they were delivered at 3 months |
There are many pretenders on nairaland. I am sure more than 80% of people felt this way one time or the other when there is trouble in their present relationship. @ Poster, Your Ex is ur Past and can never become your future. Only you can say why you people separated in the first place. Find something about your husband that makes u happy and hold on to it. spice up your marriage and be free to tell your husband things that make you happy and wanted. Stop comparing your husband and your ex rather focus on bringing new love to your marriage and uphold the values you have ever dreamt in your marriage. wishing u all the best. |
