Because it is not the will of God that anyone remains in the snare and captivity of the devil. If so then Jesus's death would have been in vain. God's wish for everyone is that they are made free by his word and power and that we live our lives not just living in that freedom but also introducing others to Jesus so that they too will believe and be saved. You are also included my friend. Jesus loves you and can give you freedom and peace nothing in this whole universe can give. Like he did for me years ago. ....Good morning folks. Sure we are all good and managing the effects of pandemic well?. To God be the glory.

This is going to be long because I will want us to read and understand it very well before commenting. Reason is because any decision taken is going to affect both myself,my immediate family members, extended and the entire community.

I have been thinking about the way forward since December last year.

It happened that we lost our king (Eze) 5years ago and the community has been in turmoil due to the inability of the elders to select a new king.

Reason is that it is rotational between my village and the other village.

My village is now supposed to bring out the next king and my compound has been told to bring out somebody to be crowned as a king.

I never envisaged or dreamt of becoming a king in my life because.
(1) My father is still alive.
(2)I'm not the most senior in the entire family.

But then,the elders met me last December and told me that the diety in the community has selected me to become the next king and that I have to pick another wife from the community before I will be crowned.

I told them point and blank that the oracle is mistaken due to the reasons I mentioned above but they are not taking it.

Now everyone in my village is against me for refusing the offer and saying I'm doing it be cause I don't want to hurt my wife which is true.

Now my question is,What do I do?
Should I damn the consequence and pick another wife and be crowned a king in other to make my community happy or should I forget about the whole idea entirely and allow the community sort themselves out?

I'm confused here. N B. My wife is aware of all this.

Ok. I saw something here and decided to comment. The voice you pray with doesn't determine whether God will hear you or not. It's our faith. In Mark 11vs23-24 Jesus said that if we ask the Father anything we desire with faith and it will be done. The key to getting prayers is faith and faith is built on God's word. When you pray according to God's word/will as John said in 1Jn 5vs14, your prayers must be answered cuz God is a person of integrity and he always keeps to his words. Prayer failures are basically faith failure. But besides faith, issues of love/forgiveness can hinder answers to prayers. There's alot to be said on that but I'll stop here. As much as prayer voice has nothing to do with out faith, there are different kinds of prayer and each are approached with different attitudes. Prayers like supplication or when you are seeking God's face and making enquires from God.. just like your president, you don't come shouting and demanding something that he can decide not to tell or give you. In this case, you appeal or make know your desire for it. And then He answers cuz of his mercies, grace and love towards us. Our relationship with God is likened to a marriage. You don't shout at your spouse to know them or get somethings from them. You get on the basis of friendship and communion with them. That's how our relationship with God is. Here, you are humble and completely submissive. But there are prayers called petition. Here you are demanding all Jesus already supplied for you on earth using the authority we have in Christ as believers. Only Christian's have this right. Unbelievers don't. You are command as a king not a servant. Who are we commanding? The devil and his cohorts. Everything we need Jesus has provided on the cross but sometimes devil frustrates us. So we use our authority to command him to flee from our healings, provisions, blessings etc. You don't need a pastor to do that for you. The same Holy Spirit you have which is the symbol of that authority in us they also have. But we submit and honour them cuz they teach and admonish us how to use and maximize this authority. A man that is not under authority of a man of God can't function in that authority. Also, I believe what of the reasons Jesus prayed in a solitary place is cuz he didn't want to disturb his neighbors. I don't think it's right praying to the point where it begins to disturb you neighbor. That's not walking in love. Love considers others and puts them above itself cuz it is selfless. Even if it happens, it should be occasionally.
There are different kind of prayers with the best attitudes that follow them but beyond that, payer backed by faith in God's word will always be answered. Thank you.

Nigeria will rise again. This will be our story very soon.

I decided to post this topic here because this is the most visited page on Nairaland after the front page. I had some serious arguments with my friends because some of them were shaming me for slow progress in my musical career' mind you I started music since 2011 but I am yet to see a real breakthrough in my career though I have rejected some record deals in the past because they were suspicious to me.

One of my friends told me the reason I am yet to blow is because I didn't apply 'science' to my songs meaning I didn't apply juju to my career that all the big artists I know both local and international have some apply supernatural powers to their careers before they blew up that if I don't do the same that am going nowhere in music this got me thinking did Wizkid, Davido, Rema and Joeboy did all this blow or stay relevant because as for me I believe it's hardwork and opportunity but now am thinking otherwise.
