Romance / Re: So difficult to find a nigerian Girl you can take home to mama in London by NiteAngel(m): 1:10am On Apr 10, 2007
LondonCool, you are getting it all wrong. The fact that a girl is from the village does not mean she'll bend to the submission stuff; even the monkeys in Idanre now wear three-piece.

Sin; even your username na wa. It's either you are looking in the wrong places or you are simply the wrong person. Real love is difficult but not impossible to find. True love comes your way when you are ready to be true. It's however up to you if you want to accept the package in which it comes  - no papers, surviving on ori-olori, challenged, equally struggling, not as religious, different faith, irregular dentition, minus-minus facial beauty, not up for the submission lyrics, too short, too tall, not Behind or too Behind, too lepa you fear for AIDS, too orobo you fear for diabetes, too rich you fear she'll want to rule, too fine you fear her love is not genuine, grammatically error laden, ugly by your definifion, tom-boyish, from the North when your choice is South or West,

Odds are so much against our choices yet we are asked to choose only one! Maybe we should talk about the ones you've come across and why they don't fit your bill.

Dead? Who said that? Plague One is that you? Star, The Blind One Who Sees, The Lame One, where are you? Did you not say that I can only live out my dream in the land of the living?

Okanlawon screamed "I'm not d ead! I'm alive!"

His mother moved closer singing his praise; Okanlawon, Okanlomo, Okanlakinkanju n'igbo 'mole,

His sister, the one who returned from the city before he became unconscious moved closer "I'm the one who called you Fruit Spirit, you were so gentle, so calm, you loved that name more than your very own."

Monshege,
I'll be waiting; I spat on the floor, if it dries up before your response that means it's stolen identity. Anyway, I understand when you say everything is borrowed:

Grammar - na borrow, pidgin - na original of borrowed. We throway tribal marks come borrow tattoo, we trash pako (chewing stick) come borrow toothbrush/toothpaste, we condemn laali come adopt nail paint so tay some people throway dem name carry ori olori follow body.

I understand but that's not all we are all about, ghana must go na original; Louis Vuitton sef adopt am. Ikoko onirin na original, nothing cooks jollof better. Molue na original, u no fit see am anywhere else. Isale Eko na original; the communal life is worth researching. Idumota, Aba market, oyingbo; everyday brings new thrills. Our hospitality is original even if area boy go ask for egunje dem go still help you push your car.

I'm waiting.

Welcome Hugoboi. Are you all about Hugo (borrowed identity) or their's more to your name?
Religion / Re: Gombe Muslim Students Have Put Me In Sorrow By Killing My Friend by NiteAngel(m): 11:22pm On Apr 08, 2007
I commiserate with Oluwatoyin’s husband, family and friends. The One, accept my sympathy.

I guess we’ll have to return to the philosophy of an eye for an eye. No doubt the world will become blind but then violent faithfuls will have a more alert mind to understand that they don’t own the ace to violence. I read some nonsence about approving the death of anyone who touches the Quoran. So, I buy a Quoran with my money to do research and some silly faithfuls come after me? This woman did not even touch the Quoran, she picked a bag which contained a Quoran. I can't fathom it.

What rubbish. How can you protect your own right by trampling on other people’s right? How can you take the life of a human to protect a man’s legacy or a religion? Honestly, we Christians either have to pray this nonsense into extinction or return fire for fire; our silence is causing more harm than our retaliation will cause. Every Sikira and Shakiru not only touch but turn the pages of the Bible without reverence, a band names itself Naked Jesus and an insane sculptor goes ahead not only to sculpt what he depicted as naked Jesus but also scheduled an exhibition of “My Sweet Lord” to precede Easter. Can you imagine?

We begin to die the day we keep silent about things that matter (MLK). When we speak and act out loud the faithfuls will realize that though they may be trained to be more vicious they’ll not be spared when they go to town with alahu akbar. If Allah is great in deed, why do you continue to kill for him?

The girl who cried out is not a little girl she’s simply a tool; trained to achieve the evil of the faithfuls. Beware who your child plays with hence you become dead meat. Its either terrorists learn to live with other humans or they find their own community. Christians should no longer accept such hatred.
Religion / Re: Different Vows For Groom And Bride In Some Churches by NiteAngel(m): 10:24pm On Apr 08, 2007
If you say man love, woman obey; how come men scream wolf when their wives don't love them?

How come nobody ever talk about honour. The Bible did ask men to honour their wives. The last time I checked my dico honour meant "higher kind of respect". Submission, reverence, respect etc is mutual.

I still think vows should be the same; what is good for the goose is good for the gander.

About being serious with the vows; maybe it should be said from the heart instead of read from a book or may be as some people suggested have horns and axes or better still lace it with blessings and curses in Deuteronomy then both parties will know its no joke.

Okanlawon, wondered for a while, How long have I been dead? Which of these women is my mother? How many brothers and sisters do I have? If Fruit Spirit is the name I used in the land of the dead then I need to learn a lot of things about myself, my family, my friends,

Okanlawon broke down crying then he screamed; "Oh my God! Am I dead or alive?"

Now I have a problem with that, Monshege.

If you don't know the right answer, saying someone is wrong becomes an assumption. You'll need to crack your head to figure out what your username is all about otherwise it becomes a borrowed (or stolen) identity. Oh maybe you simply don't want to share it.

Ronke 2811.

You quoted a Bible verse but your comment did not substantiate your quote. The Bible asked the man to leave and cleave; how come the world we live in today ask women to leave and cleave not just to the man but his name (even if it is Sangogbemi) and his ideology (even if it is whimsical)?

Ndipe, Pash,

Did Jesus Christ not give up His name, personality etc for love? How come we now believe some things are unheard of in the name of love?

Family / Re: Would You Marry Someone On A Wheelchair? by NiteAngel(m): 2:34am On Apr 07, 2007
Everybody wants to go to heaven, no body wants to die.

Look into your family, there's always someone on a wheel chair, with a cane, earring aid etc. If you had a brother on a wheel chair would you be fair to make a case for him when you know deep down that you would prevent falling in love with someone on wheels?

After losing his wife, a Pastor who was besieged by a number of women decided to marry a woman on wheels. In his opinion, he just wanted to do her a favor; since he didn't need more children he felt it was a good option. But God is wise! This woman not only warmed his heart, she brought forth and is still bringing forth children that will help him keep active for more years.

Don't deny love a place because the guy/gal is in wheels; the only person you hurt is you.
Family / Re: Shouldn’t A Woman Who Made You King Be Given An Equal Level Of Respect? by NiteAngel(m): 2:25am On Apr 07, 2007
Men who have had some form of education try not to force women directly, they lure or re-direct them in a seemingly civil way only charging out loud is the woman does not comply. Surprisingly a number of women grow up believeing it is right to be directed.

Seun, I appreciate your response and I really think a number of men should learn to respect the views of women and simply take on a friendly and supportive role instead of assuming the status of boss.

And you reading; what's your view on this?

Lalaboi.

Your username has a lot of sensual bad mind to it; but since you gave the history I'm wondering why you get hailed, femi-femo-femola-femolala-lala-lalaboi, hailing of such length usually connotes escapades.
Nairaland / General / Re: What's The Philosophy Behind Your Username? by NiteAngel(m): 2:07am On Apr 07, 2007
Monshege.

Your name comes across as man shege from man Segun from Mr Segun. The mon part could be from local yoruba dailaect or could be an interest in French (mon). It could also be shege as in hausa exclamation. I'm not privy to your tribe but it could be mon-se-shege.

Its a username that's not immediately apparent. Please throw some light on it and bring up other interesting usernames you come across.

Gals and guys; this is not just about me; you could give me the hard job of breaking the ice but we all need to contribute, that way we can keep it flowing, thanks for the interesting discussion so far.

Oops! I guess I got more than I asked for. Okay lets start with ThiefOfHearts.

Literally she steals people's hearts, do a lot of show off only to give you the 6-inch nail. If we move away from the literal or immediate translation, we could take about the game known as Thief. But even as a game we see someone who is playing pranks, being witty etc all to get you to lose. There's also a 1984 film by Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer known as Thief of Hearts; I'll try to watch to really get the flow but the plot brif says its about a woman who got bored with her marriage and began a worthwhile affair. There's also a book by Katherine Stone with that title. Her user name could be from either the film or book.

If its from either the film or book then she probably loves literary works and that supports the fact that she's intelligent enough to play games with the minds of silly unassuming men.

End of story, ThiefOfHearts, what's your take on this? Wormedup, if my version aint right throw some light on your username and the name of others we have discussed.
Travel / Re: How Not To Get A Wife In Nigeria If You Live Abroad by NiteAngel(m): 1:20am On Apr 07, 2007
Not done with my response to poster,

Love cannot be posted, telescope no dey test feelings, binoculars no go fit check character, scale no sabi weigh sexual competence, To make matters worse, you put TLC (tender love and care) under lock and key; so how the woman go fit run a similar check on you?

The only way you'd get to the level of checking her up and down - oshodi oke and bakassi - is if you establish a level of interest and then back down after approving or disapproving her alignment, highly deceptive undecided

Being abroad does not put you in any special class or change the colour of your skin. A guy that was hovering over a lady did what "bros" usually do. He had his eyes abroad and on a lady who could help him change location. Since he wasn't sure of outcome and he couldn't stop the calendar from revealing his age, he used a 9ja "sis" as back-up. He eventually travelled on the away bill without informing his 9ja "sis". As God would have it the 9ja "sis" travelled to Yankee on study and while there visited Jand. When the "bro" saw her, he tried to fix a return match unfortunately the red card couldn't be waived.

Today you are abroad. Tomorrow you may be in Somalia or Afghanistan or Iran and she may be in the so called greener pastures and be the one using your sample method on you. How well will you accept the same parameters you have set?

, as he moved towards his sister, she moved back and he said "I'm Fruit Spirit, have you forgotten me so soon?" His sister shook her head and said "Oh my God! You've been there for so long, you've even forgotten your name or maybe you are just someone else."

He stood transfixed thinking; now I'm really going to be taken for a ghost. "Please don't run away, I'm your brother and, " "Okanlawon" the sister said, "Are you sure you are not a messenger from the land of the dead?" So that's my name, Okanlawon thought and said "No, I have returned to live and give wings to my dream"

Great! McDoe.
The essence is not to have a post or thread go on forever (people simply end up repeating themselves and carry on with lame arguments). The idea is also not for you to agree 100% with other people's opinion. Once there's been a great discussion and opinions have been shared we can go ahead and make our world better by acting out what works for us.

Wormedup,
Sorry, about the Kirikiri stuff. Of course I know great people live there but tell me when you here Kirikiri or Mushin Olosa, what is the first thought that cross your mind?

I am not a professor in decoding usernames. We should bring up names we’ve come across and try to make meaning of it.

Wormedup is somewhat strange it may have been written backwards or scrambled but I could give some insight if I break it up to any of the following “wordup” “worm” “up” “warm” but in all these the worm double-faced (sly) definition is what just keeps rearing its head. Some refer to their penis as worm while others refer to their hair as worm. Some use it to refer to outcasts or uncircumcised folks while others use it in the sense of subtle, sluggish and/or pitiable. It is also used in the sense of being filled with gas hence needing some de-worming.

This is my attempt at making meaning of your username within the limits of my knowledge so simply lead us to the correct meaning.

I grumbled about the reason behind the inscription for years. I hope some dumb governors will not reverse this when power changes hands. I was thrilled by the use of the 3 major languages; that in my opinion fosters unity.

Fadal, you need to learn how to contribute to public discourse. At your age you need to step aside to pick up some manners. Wallahi, you will need it!
