RomanceRe: Why Are Some Successful Sisters Not Married? by NiteAngel(m): 1:04am On Feb 06, 2007
So nice to read Idekson's response to Ontop (below you mean), I wonder on what side of the bed you rose from the day you wrote that.

Babawilms you got it all wrong; Seun was simply rubbing in his sarcasm in relation to your lame ideas.

Men want women to share responsibility but not authority. Have you asked why?

I know of a guy who fell in love with a lady from a rich home and simply because she is from a rich home (na her offence be that) he never mentioned his desire to her. Maybe the lady loved him too but 9ja culture forbids a female to initiate the relationship. Today she is unmarried and he is richer that she is but he consoles himself by being her confidant; I really wonder why she gives him that joy of tagging along.

Older men go for young successful women because they already have had their share of bossing a woman around and after all the oga game they realise they need more than a subservient woman; they realise the beauty should match the brain. Then they go all out to encourage whoever they meet to reach the very top.

PoliticsRe: Black President In America by NiteAngel(m): 12:01am On Feb 06, 2007
"Do anyone really see the possibilty of seen a black president in U.S anytime soon?"

"They have never had a white female president before and we are talking about a black president?"

Kenshin,

When U1 said black president I doubt if the question carried any egoistic consideration. How come black president in your own opinion meant black male president?

It may not be soon but the entire world is getting all mixed up such that the colour of your skin is no longer the determinant of your race/root. Years back no one would have imagined that the Secretary of State could be "coloured".
Nairaland GeneralRe: What's The Philosophy Behind Your Username? by NiteAngel(op): 5:26pm On Feb 05, 2007
Let look up some usernames:

“Clumzy” could actually be clumsy, “Cuteruth” may or may not be a cute ‘ab’oko ku’ Ruth, “Funfavour”, may be a funny person who asks for favour or a dry person who does all the errands or may have “Fun” as prefix to her name. I can almost bet that “SlimSikiru” is actually fat and consoling himself with the prefix slim, “Amaranysc” may actually still be serving or came up with the username during service year, “Bizzybitch” could be busy at bitching or could actually be a nice person who wish she could actually be a bitch to hunt some folks down and “Amii” could be a worthy friend. One that threw me off balance is “Xeled”…

Of course above is simply my opinion and those with these (and other) usernames could let us into the idea behind their names. No doubt knowing the brain behind the name will help us relate with you better on Nairaland cheesy.
PhonesRe: How Often Do You Charge Your Phone? by NiteAngel(m): 4:34pm On Feb 05, 2007
I seldom do… the “low battery” or complete blackout nudges me to charge. If there’s a phone one won’t have to charge for a week or more I’ll be up for it.

RomanceRe: Should I Marry This 40 Year Old Bachelor? by NiteAngel(m): 11:54pm On Feb 03, 2007
Lock yourself up in a room and ask "Do I really love him?" If you answer yes without missing a breath go for him. But before you leave the room make up your mind to face the challenge or battle ahead. It wasn't easy fro the manger boy to become the KING. When you leave the room you have to begin to ask questions; from asking him questions and encouraging discussions you'll begin to find solutions.

Maybe he has a 3rd class and he's always timid about applying jobs but Gani Fawehinmi made something out of his life. The older he gets the more difficult it is to get a job but where does his talent lie? Having a degree in law does not mean he has to be a lawyer. When he becomes linked to his calling you won't have to complain about the way he dresses etc

A friend met this girl who was a go getter, smart, pretty, Godfearing, The friend na drop out who always claim to have read a course he did not complete and 13 years older than the girl. But the love was sincere and the lady has helped him to discover his calling. Today they are happy (my guess) and laying a foundation for a bright future.

Another friend though intelligent and just landed a bank job dressed like a village boy, looking timid and reflecting all the values of SU. He met this pretty media girl in church and went for her. The babe saw what others did not see. She saw a diamond in the rock and went for it. At the time they met, the guy was squating with friends. Before you could say Onyali (must it always be Jack Robinson?) she encouraged (or lured) the guy to get his own apartment and change his wardrobe. Today village boy don become "oga" giving order as he cruises around the coal city with "madam".

Follow your heart and learn to pray things to reality.
Poems For ReviewRe: Women by NiteAngel(m): 11:06pm On Feb 03, 2007
, you simply can't do without them. Look around - if you don't have a female friend, you at least have a sister or female colleage and you may end up having all girls grin

Even if you live in the world of men only a woman brought you to be! Even if you be test-tube baby; it couldn't have been done without the female egg.

Learn the rules of coping with females and you'd be the better for it.
RomanceRe: In Love With Two Friends! by NiteAngel(m): 10:56pm On Feb 03, 2007
If you arent in love with your guy do him a favor; loose him and let go.

If you try to keep them both its a case of "eni l'eiye meji a p'ofo"; 0-0 goaless draw.

If you leave one and chase the other; there's no guarantee that your happiness won't go with the loss.

My candid opinion; leave the 2 both of 'em!

RomanceRe: Why are so many African marriages breaking up abroad?. by NiteAngel(m): 11:03pm On Feb 01, 2007
Should a man be worshipped when he brings you abroad just to satisfy his own selfish needs. Women no dey abroad? Why should a man return home just for the sole purpose of marrying someone who will be subservient.

What happens when a woman brings a man abroad and he ends up ordering her around instead of working his head out to pay the bills and give the woman and children a good life.
RomanceRe: Why are so many African marriages breaking up abroad?. by NiteAngel(m): 10:59pm On Feb 01, 2007
For the man and the woman - the rules change!

Isn't it fair that the woman who shares your responsibility as breadwinner should enjoy similar equality in respect and affection. Anyway for 9ja we get customary or traditional law, this is non-existent in the western world. The soil in which you sow determines the harvest.

As long as there's mutual love and respect, your relationship/marriage will survive anywhere. Otherwise be ready to dance to the music when the location changes.

, in life you'd always find people who rock your boat so if you can deal with Sharetroll then you can handle some real life argument.

Everyone will not always see things from your side of the mirror.

Angels are spirit beings. They guide and counsel us. We may not feel their presence during the day because of the hustle and bustle of life but we sense their presence during not just the night but dark times of our lives.

A friend in deed will be true to you and will be there in time of need. The name appeals to me because I counsel and my life has benefited from great counsel from friends and angels.

Apart from that, names mean different things to different people especially in reference to language, take “edobabe” a babe from edo but how would this be translated by a Yoruba speaking guy. “Thiefof Heart” posts mails that lead others to lash and curse and you wonder dem thief her heart abi she wan thief person heart and “Mamaput”… her posts fits the name perfectly… you get the measure you ask for… leave out the phishing business and keep this going if you will.
Nairaland GeneralRe: What's The Philosophy Behind Your Username? by NiteAngel(op): 6:44pm On Jan 31, 2007
Phishing ke! But why? Na username we dey talk no be password. I don’t think there’s a big deal with the usernames. It just amazes me that as complex as some usernames are the profiles give a direct info. If you want to be anonymous be anonymous, what’s the sense in coining a pseudo name when your picture, name and web link gives out your identity. My opinion…

Even if it's a simple name it's better to let people guess and then decode.

I know that literally Phoenix could come from different ideas:

State capital and largest city in Arizona that is today reaping the benefits of irrigation.
Operating system
Mass producer of PC

So my guess is you either live in or like Arizona or you are into I.T. or,

Nairaland GeneralWhat's The Philosophy Behind Your Username? by NiteAngel(op): 1:09am On Jan 31, 2007
Some user names are simple, few are complex while others are confusing. With some names you immediately have an idea of where its comming from others simply throw you off balance and you begin to wonder "what's the philosophy behind that name".

Yorubas talk say "ile la'wo k'ato s'omo l'oruko", As you shed light on your username, you may wish to mention others and guess the idea behind it.

Wetin be ya job? Sample manager abi monitoring officer? I sure say if you apply to Slave Trade Co. ya suitability for post of recruiter no go be in doubt.

Egbon, won gbe si yin l'eti ni, pe ko de s'obo (monkey) n'Idanre mo. Awon obo (monkey) Idanre de ti'nwo leather.

I'm really amazed. I'm sure a similar advice is what a friend's toaster may have received that led him to send a mail which says "This friendship may not necessarily lead to marriage". Unknown to this naive guy, the lady is one of the most disciplined, Christian woman I've ever come across; too principled for my liking which explains why she remains ochara at 30. The guy in question likes her but after throwing such a bomb from Jandon which led her to withdraw in 9ja he has not been able to re-present his case.

My philosophy is that you make mistake when you are too careful. If you had a bad experience, it no doubt has made you a better person but adopting those strategies you designed will only drag you down. Abeg no drag others down with you.
RomanceWith A Glimpse Of The Future, Would It Still Be No Or Yes? by NiteAngel(op): 12:17am On Jan 31, 2007
"A friend opted for an abortion for fear that her parents will disown her, today she is yet to have a child but now lives with the knowledge that her parents actually brought in and pamper a school girl impregnated by her younger brother."

"His dad was a Christian before converting to win his mum's hand in marriage. He is a Christian. A major clash we had before we parted ways was about the fact that I wouldn't consent to Islamic naming ceremony when we do have children. Today he is married but yet to have a child. When I look back I wonder if it was worth it trying to cross a bridge before getting there."

Looking back at a previous relationship would you have acted otherwise with a glimpse of the future.

Oh my God!

Na "Lagos 4 Show" you know now you don c say "Jandon na Showbiz!"

If you have money to spend you could tow the tourists' line. If you don't; schedule your time between watching movies, browsing for important information, reading magazines, praying for family members (as you do that God will take care of your own list), emailing friends,

If you are good with scripting you could send your story to willowsmagazine@hotmail.com The editor could use it in the "Stories from Yonder" column.

You could also spend the time playing nice to your host at least na money dem go spend buy you baffs to continue the showbiz.
TravelRe: Your First Day On A Plane by NiteAngel(m): 1:09am On Jan 29, 2007
Toni Tone,

When you know too much about the workings of anything, it becomes difficult to trust.

Since I don't know jack about flying, I simply cast my cares on God and put him in charge of the faculty of the machine and man. Shikenah!

The most turbulent flight I experienced is from NY-CMH, I prayed till I was away from the landing area.

On another occasion the pilot announced while I was starring 9ja in the face "We'd have to remain in the air because the weather is bad and other planes are waiting ahead of us". Go slow even for 9ja air!, I trusted God but subconsciously began to calculate the distance between the aircraft and the ground.
