Politics › Re: Why Can't A Revolution Work In Nigeria? by nitrogen(m): 4:20pm On Jun 17, 2012
Lets be frank with ourselves, revolution isnt possible in Nigeria, every single Nigerian is corrupt, just that the level differs, so, not in this generation nor in the next four generations to come.
We are no-where near a Nigeria free of corruption. We should just continue to pray and hope for the anticipated revolution.
God bless Nigeria.

bakila: With a name like nitrogeon one will expect some gud analysis from you. Alas your name should have been Otapiapia Nkpokuotu. What do you know about the topic Non-interest, profit/loss sharing banking, the shylock pound of flesh interest hidden in fine print banking or the Obiter Dictum of the Judge who having ruled that the man has no Personal Jurisdiction to come to Court went ahead o point out the Gabriel in his name in a ruling by ruling on a point that was not argued nor canvassed before him. In Breach of fair hearing to the parties.
The east where you come from dont they want to rule?
Hmmmmmmmm, a typical northerner, please defend yourself, it is normal, all i know is that you guys are desperados.

one who have asked what do you have agianst islamic banking angry. does islamic banking affect u ? this system of banking is being practiced in most of the developed country in the world. if you are not Ok with it establish christian banking also , we will be very happy about that. this has nothing to do with northern agenda. it for the good of our economy shocked
Oga, developed economies can only adopt the system, a developing economy cannot, so when our economy is okay(developed) then we can, but for now it will only mar and not make it.
Sanusi is a core northerner( and please dont forget that the north can do anything in a bid to rule,), that is why he would want their policies to be the main.

A very good planned stuffs by our so called government, all these happenings are according to scripts well written, these are distractions and believe me, our intelligence are being played upon, just watch out for more. I doubt the 'soon' cleansing of the corrupt system.

Btw, i just pity farouk, he was framed, but, not to worry, he'll soon be free from all these. Watch out.
Politics › Re: Islamic Banking Is Illegal - Court by nitrogen(m): 10:30am On Jun 16, 2012
Imagine an economy of a nation that is just evolving, and all its bank chief could do is to employ tactics that developed nations are using to maintain and not to bolster its economy. He even did this without an ammendment to the neccessary act, perhaps the federal constitution permits unconstitutional actions from him.
Islamic banking is not the way, it is a northern agenda, it shows how the north just want to be incharge of everything.

Education › Re: What Influenced Your Choice Of Course In School? by nitrogen(m): 3:33pm On Jun 12, 2012
Interesting thread, initially my parents wanted me to study medicine, so i filled it in the jamb form for the both options available, interestingly my jamb score wasnt o.k for the medicine thing, and i was offered FAA( Fine and applied arts).
Not wanting to sit at home, i went for the course hoping to cross to medicine in the second year, later i changed my mind, thanks to a brother that just graduated from accounting that year. So i opted for accounting(imagine a basic science student going for a commercial course) and am through now. Although, there were frowns from home but they had no choice cos i studied what i liked and still like.
Am glad that i changed my mind.

yamakuza: ^ I totally blame the supposed Course Advisers.

In all cases, not just yours.

I also think all universities should have a dedicated and functional Guidance & Counselling unit (since our secondary schools seem to lack that).

The idea of appointing busy (and sometimes frustrated) lecturers as course advisers is just so wrong.
You are completely right on this, most advisers doesnt do the job required of them, rather, they keep shunning students due to their busy schedules and at times unwillingness to attend to them.
Of course this is a very good topic where statistics could have been the judge. But in the absence of it, i have also heard things like Polytechnic graduates do well in the ICAN exam or also more particular to Yabatech graduates of Accountancy.

My aunt had her HND in Accountancy from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic with her ICAN PE whatever it is called exam in 1998.She was exempted from the National Diploma. She has worked in the Local Government all her life even before she started the HND. Unfortunately for financial reasons she did not finish the ICAN professional qualification ever since. This HND has hindered her chances of getting to the top her civil service work for a long time. Talking about 16years in the civil service.

In 2007 my aunts boss who had a Masters in Accounting from a top top University in Nigeria bought forms for herself and my aunt to partake in the Association of National Accountant of Nigeria professional exam. During these times my aunt could not study much because she was pregnant. She put to bed two weeks before the examination. When the results came out my aunt passed all her modules earning the qualification at one sitting while her boss did not pass hers.

Like i have said before Nigerian universities and polytechnic are the same. The difference is in the individual
Please forget ANAN, i dont think earning its qualification makes one chartered.

NYSC › Re: Ex corpers now in the real world. Welcome guys. Whats next? by nitrogen(m):
2sexy: Man, you may be right but not entirely. I tell you there is still untapped niches which you can break into and make more money for yourself. All you have to do is educate yourself more on business opportunities around you. As I type this, there are people who are involved in export of Nigeria's commodity and there are companies overseas that buy form them. You may decide to become a middle man and earn commission. You can connect the buyer and seller together and receive commission on both sides. I read about a guy called kenneth obi who earned thirty thousand dollars doing this from Nigeria. The guy has been doing this for over 6 years , so you may not have the same experience as him, but with a little research and persistence, you will get there.
e
What the said kenneth did was to find a buyer of sesame seed online and the man needed 30 containers of sesame seed. kenneth had to ask the Romanian that he would be paid one thousand dollars per container and the man agreed. Kenneth sourced for sellers of the seed, the man came to Nigeria and that was how they did business. he found the guy at www.alibaba.com at the forum on there.

If I wanted to do mine, I will simply help people design their website and help take their businesses online and of course, webdesign is not enough. If you have a skill and you do not have the marketing tools in place, then you are as good as dead. The basic principle of money is find a need and fill it, but with more value added to it than its widely available and you will always smile to the bank.

As I type now, there are over 3 systems and blueprint which I have built for myself that is guaranteed to make me good money when I am done with school work.

There are many more that I could share with people but that may be when I am at my NYSC camp.

So guys, find a need and fill it. Find a starving crowd and feed it. Find a problem and solve it. let you thinking do the work and take action.

Many Nigerian do not read books written by American because some think that whatever is written in such books may not work in Nigeria. Let me tell you, the owner of complete sport came from a poor family but he is a millionaire today just by reading books written by Americans. The first book that changed him waas Think and Grow Rich.

I on my part first got the a first touch of business/investor mind set after reading Rich Dad, Poor Dad, by Robert Kiyosaki. There after I read Rich Dad's Guide to Investment. The latter alone revealed how businesses think and act that is why most advert dont work on me any more. Adverts make people poor and investors richer. You wont understand what I mean till you read that book.

Read, develop your mentality, Take action and you will never be afraid of Nigeria's economy.

Improving your financial intelligence is all you need to do... and you will be invisible!
Whaoh! Nice one. You really took your time on this.

I do not, but from statistics and what is been heard. In nigeria 1 out of 100 masters grad with distinctions went through the part-time route while the rest were full timers.
P.S. Dont forget that 'distinction' is the take here, for other grades, it may be easy for a part time student.
