Quality20: Yes u heard me well. Many of these ladies while still in their teens or early twenties could b found engaging in masturbation using various objects, which unknowingly may tamper with their hymen. Other girls engage in romance n MouthAction with their male friends by allowing d guys caress their private parts, one thing then leads to another and d guys may convince them that they only gonna insert d tip of d penile organ and won't penetrate, and gbam u have it by mistake, unprepared or whatever d Virgina is fully penetrated and the girls are in regrets. From just wanting romance, they now got their virginity lost , how are they gonna communicate this to a future husband, who is gonna believe them? How many guys are ever gonna trust them? It's the girl's decision to keep her virginity or not. You can tell her from a religious viewpoint, not to engage in casual sex. You could mention the risks involved with sex before marriage. She can decide on her own, for reasons best known to her, to stay away from boys (most likely with parental instruction). These reasons might include waiting until she achieves certain educational goals, especially if she's Nigerian, so she can be self sufficient and also make her parents' sufferings and deprivations worthwhile . But not many young girls can resist temptations of boys, so the boys also should help them by not putting them in certain situations. Teenagers in particular, pass through this phase as they become more emotionally independent of their parents. |

Iamgrey5: Ife had a state. I have seen a map before.
Modified:
Hope you can see the ife state written in capital letters and the old Oyo area written in capital letters. The boundaries are not as clearly defined as you think. Where is the link to the original map? |

Iamgrey5: I understand your point
I meant ife state before the arrival of Europeans ok. Ife did not have a state per se, though, (unless perhaps Benin, since they seem to share some history). Ife's role was administrative, as in, rulership mostly. I could be wrong on this. |

DeOTR: Ignorance, they say, is a disease. When Hugh Clapperton in his second expedition to Africa asked Sultan Bello about a people he encountered. The Sultan told him that they're called Yarba... that they're said to be the remnants of the descendants of Canaan. This is Sultan Bello telling Clapperton what he knows about the Yorubas, not that the Fulanis are the ones that gave us the name. FFK of all people should know better. Since Nairalanders decided to separate Hausa from Fulani, it's been confusion throughout. [s]They don't even know if they're coming or going[/s]. |

Iamgrey5: Oyo Yorubas does not include Ife
Ife was like the spiritual home of Yoruba land.
Ile Ife (meaning house of love) housed many Yoruba clans and non Yoruba clans like Ewe (Gun or Egun in Nigeria) at different times in its history.
People from Ife were referred to as ife,
FFK is from ife.
Hence, those that migrated to Togo via central Benin republic of today before the Europeans arrived were referred to as Ife as they were known before a Yoruba identity was formed in Nigeria by Bishop Samuel Ajayi Crowther. You said Osun was referred to as Ife, that is incorrect. Ife is a town in Osun state, Osun used to be part of Oyo state. Osun as a state is a modern concept, Ife predates the state itself. |

majority of the mentally unstable people parading the streets of Akure were imported from other states in the country and were dumped in neighbouring towns, A negative effect of being accommodating. The deluge of mentally ill people who are mainly youths parading the streets of Akure in the recent time has been causing some disquiet. smh. God. the number of destitute pouring into Akure is not only alarming but increasing almost on weekly basis. wow |

the name Yoruba was derived from “Yoruba” and that it means “shady and unreliable”. It might, who knows. Not a big deal in my opinion. |

Osun was never referred to as Nago, they were referred to as Ife. Osun was formerly part of Oyo state, Oyo is different from Ife. Hence, Ife hunters who found themselves in Togo today are referred to as Ana-ife or ife-Togo, not Anago or Yoruba Obviously because they're Ife hunters from Ile Ife? |

OladimejiRufai: Portray Nigerians in a very bad light??
But I'm sorry 'light' in Nigeria isn't good before. No power everywhere except in few places.
So Nigerians are 'in very bad light' before nah It's getting worse, or it's gotten worse. This is really not good, I don't know why you folks seem to think it's ok. |

Olaonipekun11: I think it’s because igbos have been taught to hate yorubas from the beginning and to see how we respond in love to them makes them jubilant whereas most yorubas were never taught to hate any person and marrying outside has never been a big deal to Yorubas All that has changed, Yorubas are also hating in the same manner. After the civil war, there might have been a temporary cessation of hostilities but it's building up again, at a fast pace. Marrying outside is not that big a deal to Yorubas normally, true. |
