Olaonipekun11: I don’t know yorubas who can defend because one Yoruba woman marry Igbo. We will just shake our heads in remorse for that woman. In our mind, what an insult. It's not that serious, people just consider the issues associated with marrying or dating outside your own culture, that's all. But most would still be negative anyway, regardless if you marry within or outside your zone. |

udoekere: Hi Nairalanders Please what's a smooth way to get talking to someone you're interested in but don't see on a regular basis? Don't. Focus on other things besides relationships or hooking up. |

I didn't check the link, it looks fake.
Post something more authentic. |

FrLukas: I find it interesting that Nairaland features stories from Twitter and Instagram yet those two never feature stories from Nairaland.
Is Nairaland now a dumping ground? Twitter (ie Nigerian twitterers) featured Nairaland once or twice I think. Something about is Nairaland a site for basket cases. Instagram doesn't bother with Nairaland to the best of my knowledge ( I could be wrong). Except for this clearly fake page: https://www.instagram.com/nairalandforum/?hl=enI think the Nigerians there want to keep it classy perhaps. |

One of the political/psychological questions I've long pursued is why it's so hard for good to triumph over evil. Ironically, one of the problems may be the victims, who are often too "good" to fight back. Interesting pov. Perhaps too naive you mean? does karma work? If it does, karma is not "being rewarded for good and punished for bad" because to ensure balance, karma would be good/bad, bad/good. Reward for good, punishment for bad would be something else, not karma, I should think. |

People who perform good deeds are certainly rewarded with the good feelings that come from doing good deeds. They are also likely to be esteemed and supported by the community. No good deed goes unpunished, as they say. I find it interesting that evil seems to ordinarily prevail over good So, you answered your own question. |

LoveThemChubby: The person in question is not from there but wants to marry someone from there. Unfortunately the lady too isnt staying there and didn't grow up there and as such can't help him with the preliminary info. He needs the preliminary info to help me prepare before going to collect the list officially. So basically the info needed is on the marriage list not intricacies on their culture so to say. Sorry if my post was misinforming Usually her relatives are supposed to be in charge of such matters (marriage traditions, etc), but perhaps there's an online group similar to the one mentioned on the other thread with the same question? |
