yes the hanukkah or festival of the rededication is mentioned in both the old and new testaments.

It was mentioned in 1st and 2nd books of macabees as well as in the gospel of John 10:22,it is amazing to note that even Jesus attended this feast which means that he definitely recognised and honoured the accounts of the macabees.
I think your questions has been answered in the reply above ,it was definitely mentioned in both the OT and NT

- Apocrypha is an heretical collection of books hence it holds no value to me a Bible believing person  . . . am not suprised that Catholics hold dear to it cus it helps you justify your idolatory . . .

Hanukkah doesn't have to be written in the Torah to be celebrated by Jews and Messianic Jews. It is an ancient Jewish festival commemorating the miracle of the oil vessel and the victory of the Jews.
Funny enough the celebration of Hanukkah is recorded in the 1st and Second books of Maccabees which is in the Apocrypha which protestants reject but i don't reject. The celebration of the Jewish feast of Hanukkah thus gives credibility to the 1st and 2nd books of Maccabees and the entire Apocrypha.

- energy storage is a big problem hence providing cost effective and environmentally friendly storage solutions would be desirable.
- the technology sorrounding solar panels is improving constantly such that maybe in 10 years times the efficiency might actually be useful.
- Bringing the technology to a mass market like Nigeria and mass producing and selling as a consumer electronic and not as a luxury product would go a long way to make it common place. Such that generators gradually become phased out by sheer force of economic demand for cheap solar panels.

- I do not support people insulting another  (even though i have also ran foul of that sometimes).

- I don't have any problem with Seun censoring the use of certain words, because he does not want it on his forum.

- Howevr I am just not comfortable with a situation where a foreign body is indirectly censoring the language of Nigerians on a Nigerian forum, by indirectly influencing Seun to censor the use of certain words. Is that language colonialism or what ?

- If Seun chooses to abide by google's request, the fact remains that there is nothing that can be done about it, cus at the end of the day, he owns the forum and hence the choice is his alone to make.

- From the little I understand about Website and Forum administration and ownership, I beleive google adds provide a particular kind of revenue stream for a forum/website in which they are being displayed (e.g. nairaland). Hence in reality, what Seun chooses to do with his forum is not really any of our business.

- Nevertheless, that still does not mean that Google's intention is completely justified, even though the moral intentions are good. Even the Messiah did not force people to change by force, even though the moral and spiritual benefits of changing are also good. Hence i see it like its as if Google is trying to indirectly trying to arm-twist Seun to do a particular thing.

- Another worry is that Censorship can be a slippery slope.

i always wondered, how does it feel to live without hope?

It feels horrible and bad . . .I am not an atheist and I have been in situations where it feels like there is no hope and trust me . . . it is horrible.

That is why you see that the issue of suicides is rampant in the West cus . . .the sense of hopelessness and purposelessness becomes so overwhelming that death seems to be the only way out.

Unfortunately, suicide is not the way out cus killing yourself itself is also not permitted cus you do not own yourself hence you are not even permitted to kill yourself . . . hence its double jeopardy for those that comitt suicide.
