So in 2020 some people are still going round saying that the British developed Africa. The British developed Ghana. The British developed Nigeria. The British developed LAGOS. Africans are saying this in the year 2020. No wonder this generation is still jumping from frying pan to fire. Your parents exchanged gold for mirrors for this "development" O. |
We must examine the myth of Traditional Medicine as we learn Chemistry, Biology and Physics from Primary schools to the University level. Africans are the only ones that still see Traditional Medicine as Fetish, Voodoo and Mystical. Other continents examine their Traditional or Natural Medicine not only in their countries but explore Africa to discover more. Africa must demystify and expose the mystery for facts and hypothesize about what works in reality. |

Never outgrow Ewa Agoyi. I visited a friend of mine once and we chatted late into the night. On our way out the following morning, we refused breakfast. Surprise, surprise. The driver went through the old neighborhood and stopped at an old joint to buy Ewa Agoyi to the office. If you know, you know. Old Lagos, not Western Region. |

Destabilize A Nation With Imported Food Some Africans have forgotten how to grow their own food. There used to be a time most Africans could not starve in the villages unless you are too lazy to farm. Today, families are selling the same farms that have sustained them for generations to buy plastic toys that can hardly last for five years. Think of what will happen this time in many African countries, as reported in some communities already, if this Covid-19 lockdown continues without enough food supplies in any Country. During Ebola Pandemic, some of the people that were quarantined in Liberia and Sierra Leone broke out of the camps looking for food because they were not supplied enough to eat. A hungry man is an angry man. One of the basic needs of man is food, apart from water, sex and shelter. The lack of each of these can disorient most of us. In East Africa, Governments are selling fertile land in the name of mechanized and industrialized farming to foreigners and relocating owners or turning them into daily paid laborers. What technology is available to foreigners that is not known in local universities? If food is available but replaced with imports, the absence of that replacement can also destabilize a nation. The same is true about acquired tastes, at least for those with exotic tendencies. Protests and riots have occurred as a result of what others may consider basic needs at the rationing centers or market places. The fear of Covid-19, a lesson we had many opportunities to learn from must strengthen our resolve to be food growers and producers with sufficient quantity and quality at home and to export. China went from food famine to food export during our lifetime. We have to be more careful than ever in this trying time. There used to be a popular saying; that anything thrown on the soil in Africa can grow. This is how far we have displaced our local food only to buy and beg for food assistance from foreign lands. Palm oil that used to be grown in many places in West Africa has now been replaced with import from Asia. Cassava is so widely grown in many African countries today it has become one of the staple foods. Yet, it was introduced into African countries from South America. Since cassava has become very adaptable in most tropical countries, most of us take it as our indigenous food native to our land. Our Corn and Cassava grow very well locally, we have been blessed. Wheat on the other hand is not so easily adaptable to most African countries. Even where wheat could be grown in Africa, highly genetically modified wheat grown in abundance and resistant to environmental blight are the most prevalent available seed. However, this wheat is only available from certain countries in the hands of highly mechanized farmers supported by big international corporations. There is no better way for a country that has wheat in abundance than to look for buyers in order to replace their staple food with Bread. Wheat, barley, rye, corn, cassava, millet and rice are grown in different places all over the world. The climate determines their natural habitats. Science has modified each of these to be resistant or adaptable to diseases, environments; increasing or decreasing yields. Each could be turned into bread. There is a price. Multinational companies sell the genetic modified seed each time farmers want to plant. Indian farmers that used their land as collateral to borrow money from banks to buy seed from international companies lost their land when they could not pay back. It was a suicide mission. Ordinary toilet paper can disorient a nation that has tropical forest for making paper or toilet paper. But if people are used to certain types of imported toilet paper, lack of supply can result in panic and a lucrative market for smugglers. We saw this in South America or Venezuela. The same is true in preference for ordinary toothpicks and pencils. If toilet paper can lead to riots in Venezuela even before imported food has become scarce, we must wonder why we cannot flood local markets with ordinary paper, corn and cassava bread, when raw material comes from our land. Therefore, if our daily needs like what we eat and drink are replaced by imports, shortage can create hunger and riots leading to revolution. Okay, if imported food is the problem, what do we say about Middlemen that raise the price of local food above the price of import. If most of us have a choice between cassava bread and wheat bread, we would "rush" bleached white bread knowing full well it causes diabetes and obesity. We cannot be preaching Buy Africa when we know it is too expensive to fill our bellies. Only a hungry man knows the pinch of an empty belly or death. Money has never been an adequate replacement for Trade by Batter. Otherwise the amount of foreign currencies exchanged for gold, diamond, uranium, oil etc. could have made Africa the richest continent not the poorest. We can never make enough money to buy our basic needs like food or Daily Bread when the same people dictate what price to sell and buy our raw gold. https://www.thenigerianvoice.com/news/287089/destabilize-a-nation-with-imported-food.html Apr 16, 2020 | Farouk Martins Aresa |
Health Education is a very important factor in prevention of diseases. Most Africans have learnt from other countries. The fear of crowded cities like slums Lagos remains. Some Africans also called Covid-19 the disease of the Rich, International travelers, and Foreigners. Well, it will be counterproductive when they realize the same elites will infect their house-helps that will transfer the disease to their crowded and poor communities where it will explode like fire. Just as in African countries, some black people in Diaspora thought they were naturally Immune. |
Covid-19 Now A Black Disease In Survival Of The Fittest Community LISTEN Most scientists warned against population density, crowding, hygiene, diabetes, hypertension, asthma and emphysema exacerbated by environmental pollution in African countries and African American communities. We are not surprised that Covid-19 deaths are Seventy Percent disproportionally in black and minority communities in the United States. Alarming case study for African leaders if they care. The misinformation going round that Covid-19 could not infect black people because we only saw the faces of Asians, Europeans and American whites on televisions and social media infected and dying at alarming rates. It is the reason for urgent need and attention promoting treatment and palliative measures. All resources are being mobilized to arrest and reverse the deadly scourge. Lost or hidden in the real statistics of those dying especially in the United States of America for months, is that about Seventy percent of those deaths are African Americans and Hispanics. In the Southern States of America where Obamacare or Affordable (Health) Care Act has not been implemented based on ideology, the poor and more African Americans are dying of Covid-19 than any other group. The same is true in Louisiana where blacks make up 32%of the population but 70% of deaths. In Illinois' Chicago, 72% of city residents who have died from the virus are African Americans. https ://chicago.suntimes.com/coronavirus/2020/4/6/21209848/coronavirus-covid-19-deaths-racial-disparity-life-expectancy-arwady-lightfoot There are fears in some quarters that once Covid-19 becomes a black disease, World Presidents and Prime Ministers will lose interest in the daily briefing prompting urgency, prevention, immunization and cure. While the pessimistic view may be suspicious, research and cures are more likely tailored to self interest, recovery of cost and profit than to charity or Universal Care. Leaders of African countries cannot expect charity when their priorities are for vanities and "feferity" are more important than substance. Diseases, directed by the economics and health system, pick winners and losers, resulting in casualties by their input not by fate. Indeed, the system ridiculed and denied those that have struggled to survive against all odds. The selective treatment gained respectability by choosing a token few from the destitute for Free Care to demonstrate piteous magnanimity. In Africa those few are looters that can afford foreign hospitals. While it is true that more Africans are suffering from underlying diseases like hypertension, diabetes, obesity and live in highly congested cities where the spread of Coronavirus and Covid-19 in particular is easily spread, it does not justify denying black Americans prevention to susceptible diseases as Coronavirus. The problems ACA was trying to address before they occurred. Low plasma renin activity in hypertension is prevalent in Afro-Caribbean communities is not an excuse that nothing can be done about it. This reduced angiotensin converting enzyme 2 activity are reported in people with pre-hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus and chronic renal disease. https ://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7036504/ We saw this bias played out when AIDS became black disease, during Ebola or tropical diseases. But nobody would tag opium addiction that was not infectious, skin cancer or Alzheimer disease "genetic". Melatonin are not as much in whites and most blacks do not live that long enough for Alzheimer disease anyway. Physical distancing hardly works well in African crowded cities and can rarely work in low paying jobs that are essential services mostly occupied by minorities to keep the Countries in Europe and Americas going. Minorities are overly represented disproportionally in agricultural, fast food retail, grocery, health aides in Hospitals and Nursing homes service industries; many without health insurance. These folks need their salaries and the system makes it hard for them to get paid enough to stay home. What demonstrates Economic reality of the survival of the fittest? It is the adherence to a class system that creates cheap and surplus labor from which the privileged can pick and choose without working hard, as others work to death to shoulder the system. While preaching to workers to pull themselves up by the bootstraps, they reserve privileges for themselves and their families. They adhere to Religion to enforce the economic and healthcare disparity to justify the status quo. When law and order are established as a civilized society where no one is turned away from treatment in hospitals the same healthcare and justice eluded the oppressed as members in greater need of protection: letting you know it is a farce. Unfortunately, this same ideology that is used to deny African Americans in their own countries, is used by African politicians and elites as tactics to deny members of their local communities to maintain adequate healthcare. So a virgin could be enjoying anal sex? I was shocked the first time I learnt ladies enjoy anal sex. Some really do. I wasted many years! many girls have anal sex daily to maintain the hymen, but you have to see you cant class them as virgins anymore |
Now the nurses are protesting the disparity in salary between them and doctors. I do not know of any country with such disparity except you are highly skilled specialist. It is wrong for nurses to use doctors for comparison. The whole disparity is in the system itself where politicians pay themselves anyhow. The system is rigged. They should be paying skilled labor more instead of importing iron workers, plumbers, crane operators and carpenters from overseas and calling them engineers and experts based on the color of their skin. |
Is it not ironic that African women are owning monogamy culture that is not theirs more than the owners that practice serial monogamy. It is part of being civilized, I guess. |

Covid-19 Economics Must Spur Local Reliance Drugs, Goods And Services Listen to article This Coronavirus health crisis has tasked and overwhelmed our meager and robust healthcare system throughout the world. There are fears and some panic from the worst case scenario. Nevertheless, Coronavirus must be taken seriously and all orders from constituted authorities adhere to. Coronavirus (Covid-19) has sucked most of the living attention out of most of us, especially our international travelers. People moving from one Country to another have developed cold feet, most would rather die at home in their own country. So, most are flooding back home. Please quarantine them before they infect the poor they ridiculed and left behind. African countries are not cemeteries. While it is true that we have many infectious diseases like Lassa fever in poverty stricken areas, pulmonary diseases, diabetes and blood pressure killing more people in Africa that we must worry about. This Coronavirus is mythical because we do not know as much about it but more importantly, it infects those very health workers more as Ebola, and spreads so rapidly that coping with it requires draconian measures as in China. No, there are no lions and tigers in the streets of Moscow to enforce curfew but there are jail time for defying the law enforcement. There are cross safety advantages against other flu and diseases since measures taken against Coronavirus will keep many diseases abay. All the attention and Investments to combat this disease will produce preventive returns in Public Health generally. However, we cannot deny the additional economic, emotional and mental stress experienced in personal terms, seen in families and businesses globally. Covid-19 prevention is not compatible with free and democratic cultures most people around the world prefer. It has brought rationing of medical resources in the wealthy countries, some prioritizing care between the young and the old. Fighting for healthcare as a right is one thing, overwhelming the system is a different situation experienced only in a few cases. If Africans cannot learn self-reliance from Coronavirus Economics, nothing will change the sorry situation of our foreign dependency. Coronavirus has become the disease of the elites, well traveled and sophisticated class that are now reassessing their exposure to the so called civilized world in general and foreign delicacies in particular. Coronavirus Economics has changed the game and opened the eyes, hears and brains of those Africans willing to learn. The Chinese are capable of transporting medical supplies that prevent and ameliorate Coronavirus in Europe, America and Africa as the most efficient and cheaper manufacturers. The advantage China has in welding its power today did not start today. China exports most of what is needed to prevent Covid-19 from masks to sanitizers. Trust Nigerians and other African countries to duplicate each of these locally by popular demand. We have Akpeteshie, black soap and whatever it takes. There are reasons China became the manufacturing capital of the world. Americans shunned brand names realizing that quality can come from Japan in automobiles or from China into Walmart stores. American corporate world including Microsoft, Google, Apple, General Motors, Ford and Chrysler opened factories outside the United States. However, African countries were stuck on brand names from Britain and America even after realizing that their favorite products of new and used goods were made in China and other Asian countries that were poorer than Nigerian, Ghana, Zimbabwe and South Africa until recently. Most of the trade between these African countries, as much as 70% were with European and American companies that subcontract their finished goods to Developing countries in Asia while the African countries import them. Closing the Airports turns out to be money saver for some countries but money loser for international airlines. Well, some African Presidents have more and better equipped Presidential planes in their fleet than their countries' Airlines. While some Countries after 60 years cannot maintain Airline, Present Buhari Airline is more useful to him than an efficient Nigerian Airline. Potential Coronavirus cures are springing up including some old medication to stabilize it and may become effective. One of the most interesting drugs is Hydroxychloroquine, or. Chloroquine is widely available in African countries as medication for malaria. However, some Africans are rushing to the Drug stores while Americans and Europeans are besieging their doctors for prescriptions for "prevention"! Hydroxychloroquine has not been approved for Coronavirus as cure or for prevention. While people's anxiety is understandable, fear leads to irrational behavior. Covid-19 as Coronavirus, does not need a Visa to cross from one continent or country to another. Fake Pastors and Imams with their business centers on every street getting little traffic, have been exposed by the forces of Coronavirus. They are being creative, switching to online congregations and twisting their predictions to the prediction of Covid-19 to raise their profile and value. One of them had to be arrested in Accra for defying limited gathering. Others were banned and closed in Lagos. These are trying times and Coronavirus Economics forced countries and people to re-calibrate their attitude to life. The empty branding and inferiority complex that fuel foreign brands over local made are gradually blown out from the bottom 24 March 2020 | Opinion/Feature By Farouk Martins Aresa https://m.thenigerianvoice.com/news/286327/covid-19-economics-must-spur-local-reliance-drugs-goods-and.html |
Coronavirus has done what common sense refused to do out of greed and mental slavery. Oyinbo countries, we are waking up. |
Vanities do not make you rich if those around you are poorer than ever. Vanities depreciate and the high you get from it is temporary until you get another one. Vanities makes you the only king on the hill while those around you worship you until they wake up and lock you up. Vanities drain your resources and talents Leaving you poorer than ever. As Vanity depreciates Character appreciates. However, if vanities makes people around you richer by producing local jobs, build people up, educating and teaching younger generation, vanity can create value. Consumers of vanities and producers of nothing are fools on drugs. |
Here we go again. Not all Africans, eh? Name the ones that were not or affected by the legacy and vestiges of slavery up today today. Abi slavery na lielie sef. RamessesIV:Africans Are Still White And Foreigners' Slaves Mentally - Politics - Nairaland. Nairaland Forum / Nairaland / General |
I wonder why this did not make the front page. This is just a tip of the iceberg of what they did to all Africans. Keep on kissing up to them as your saviors that gave you religion and civilization out of "shithole" countries. When is the next trip through the deserts, ships or planes? |
