How did IPOB stop court from jailing her?

Did IPOB also stop the jailing of IBB, Obsanjo, Jonnathan, Atiku, Saraki and other corrupt politicians?

Instead of blaming the endemic corruption in Nigeria mostly caused by the north and their yoruba minions who have been in power for decades, you're blaming IPOB!

If you can't argue intelligently don't start an argument!

Religion / Re: Is Masturbation A Sin?. by NobleG1(m): 3:09am On Dec 24, 2016
redon12:
Tis been a wild practice for me ..
though ashamed of it ...
But

you guys got to answer me cause am really getting confused here...

Pls IS MASTURBATION A SIN??.

You asked if masturbation is a "sin", while you religious people conduct massive fornication in your churches! No group or cult is more hypocritical than religious people!

Masturbation is actually good. In fact, it is healthy! It is a great stress reducer - there's evidence that having sex or masturbating can reduce our resting heart rate for up to 12 hours. Plus, it does our sex lives the world of good to learn our sexual rhythms. We connect through masturbation to the types of action that we see in erotic or pornographic visual stimuli. This feeds our sexual fantasies, which is an enrichment of our creative process.

Its not just the men who enjoy the benefits of masturbating; it is the women too who gain a lot out of it. It is good for women's health to do so. The only thing that should be taken care of is that it should not become an obsessive disorder. If you are able to control that, then there is no harm in doing it.

In fact, many sexologists and clinicians believe that when a woman masturbates, it helps her know a lot more about her sexual behaviour and responses. During masturbation the fluid from the sexual glands help in increased circulation in these organs. Some women prefer to masturbate to ease their menstrual cramps. Over 70 per cent of women have reported to have experienced better orgasm while masturbating, rather than having sex. So, that may imply women having a better time off with themselves than with men. The health benefit is that it prevents cervical infection and urinary tract infection.

For men, apart from it being a release, it helps them get rid of their old sperm. After masturbation, the old sperm is released making way for new ones. Also, the risk of having prostate cancer is also reduced.

Apart from the medical benefits, masturbation has emotional and psychological benefits. It is a good mood elevator and an excellent stress buster. It also helps improve sexual relationship with yourself as well as your partner. It is important to not view masturbation as something immature, bad and shameful. It is something very normal which sexually active people do. It is not a bad thing and should not be viewed as a taboo. Masturbation has good effects on your body and mind. But the main catch in it is not to be doing it like a neurotic fixation. If that part is under control, just go ahead and do it.

Nigerians have made awards worthless and useless! There are too many award ceremonies just like too many worthless beauty contests.

Nigerians love any kind of award show no matter how useless and irrelevant they're!

Nigerians should stop this awards ceremony madness!!

Business / Re: Starting Up A Night Club In Nigeria by NobleG1(m): 12:36am On Dec 23, 2016
Razorr:
Sweetheart, listen very carefully to what I'm about to say: -

First of all, the most important thing that has to be put into consideration when setting up a club is its location. Make sure that you create the night club in an area with a lot of activity. An area that also has other night clubs. This makes people feel safe. Besides, clubbers love to cruise from club to club on club nights and do not like to take long drives just to locate a club, no matter how good the club is. Ikoyi and V/I are very good examples of this. Clubbers know that if they want to have a good time, all they have to do is drive down to Ikoyi or V/I and then they can have a huge list of clubs to choose from. Their choise then comes down to what club(s) provides the most fun.

To set up a very good night club, you have two options: - One, you might buy out an already existing club (which I think is the best idea), renovate it, and change its name. There are so many dwindling night clubs you can choose from. The amount you'll would spend on this would depend on the quality of the former club. It might cost you an average of 40 million naira. And secondly, you might decide to build your own club from the scratch, which would gulp a lot of money. To build a high-end club from the scratch, like you want to do, you need to put aside at least sixty million naira( 60,000,000). This amount would comfortably cover all your expenses, and would create an averagely decent night club, with VIP sitting and one or two nice bars.

Like I said before, all this would depend on the location.

You should only create a night club in a high brow area, where the rich and famous live, as I am sure they are the ones you want to patronize you. I'm sure you want to make your money back, after your investment.

Not necessarily true. A good product or service location does matter but not as much as in the 80s and 90s. Social media makes it easier for people to know about where good businesses are located.

If you establish a great club in a village or ANYWHERE that offers better services than the ones at the "rich" estates, people (like me) will travel to have a good time at the club!

When you have something good like a good products or services, people will come to patronize you wherever you are, as long as the location is easily accessible by car.

I'm not saying having your business in the town or at rich peoples estate or street is the same as in the village. My point is that, a successful business will work at any location but better in the city.

Nigeria is abysmally terrible with maintenance of anything.

A nuclear station that lacks good and steady maintenance can release radioactive materials which could wipe out everyone in a town.

Nuclear power is great but it's not for Nigeria of today.

Religion / Best Christmas Music Ever! by NobleG1(m): 7:59am On Dec 20, 2016
I'm not religious but I love good Christmas music. And this particular song is so emotional and makes me shed tears always.

The Wexford Carol is a traditional religious Irish Christmas carol originating from County Wexford and, specifically, Enniscorthy (whence its other name), dating to the 12th century. One of the oldest Christmas music. The subject of the song is that of the nativity of Jesus Christ.

The Wexford Carol, sometimes known by its first verse Good people all this Christmas time, is one of the oldest extant Christmas carols in the European tradition. The song achieved a renewed popularity due to the work of William Grattan Flood (1859-1928), who was organist and musical director at St. Aidan's Cathedral in Enniscorthy. He transcribed the carol from a local singer and had it published in the Oxford Book of Carols, putting Enniscorthy into most carol books around the world.

The Lyrics for the video below

Good people all, this Christmas time,
Consider well and bear in mind
What our good God for us has done
In sending his beloved son

With Mary holy we should pray,
To God with love this Christmas Day

In Bethlehem upon that morn,
There was a blessed Messiah born.
--
Near Bethlehem did shepherds keep
Their flocks of lambs and feeding sheep
To whom God's angel did appear
Which put the shepherds in great fear

Prepare and go, the angels said
To Bethlehem, be not afraid

For there you'll find, this happy morn
A princely babe, sweet Jesus, born.
--
With thankful heart and joyful mind
The shepherds went the babe to find
And as God's angel had foretold
They did our Saviour Christ behold

Within a manger he was laid
And by his side a virgin maid

Attending on the Lord of Life
Who came on earth to end all strife.
---
Good people all, this Christmas time,
Consider well and bear in mind
What our good God for us has done
In sending his beloved son

With Mary holy we should pray,
To God with love this Christmas Day

In Bethlehem upon that morn,

Original full version Lyrics

Good people all, this Christmas time,
Consider well and bear in mind
What our good God for us has done
In sending his beloved son

With Mary holy we should pray,
To God with love this Christmas Day

In Bethlehem upon that morn,
There was a blessed Messiah born.

The night before that happy tide,
The noble Virgin and her guide
Were long time seeking up and down
To find a lodging in the town.

But mark right well what came to pass
From every door repelled, alas,

As was foretold, their refuge all
Was but a humble ox's stall.
---
Near Bethlehem did shepherds keep
Their flocks of lambs and feeding sheep
To whom God's angel did appear
Which put the shepherds in great fear

Arise and go, the angels said
To Bethlehem, be not afraid

For there you'll find, this happy morn
A princely babe, sweet Jesus, born.
--
With thankful heart and joyful mind
The shepherds went the babe to find
And as God's angel had foretold
They did our Saviour Christ behold

Within a manger he was laid
And by his side a virgin maid

Attending on the Lord of Life
Who came on earth to end all strife.
--
There were three wise men from afar
Directed by a glorious star
And on they wandered night and day
Until they came where Jesus lay

And when they came unto that place
Where our beloved Messiah lay

They humbly cast them at his feet
With gifts of gold and incense sweet.

Nairaland / General / Re: What Is Your Greatest Fear? by NobleG1(m): 10:28pm On Dec 19, 2016
Two things that scare the hell out of me;

1. Poverty. I worked very hard to be where I'm today. I'm not poor, I've a wonderful family of my own. I helped my extended family members to succeed. In fact, I love my life and I've put everything in place to not go broke! A life lived in poverty is a wasted life.

2. What would kill me. I'm not scared death itself because when you die you cease to exist. But what scares me is what would kill me. I want a peaceful and painless death (like dying while in deep sleep), not a painful one (like in car crash or disease).

Family / Re: Who Will You Take Sides With, Me Or My Wife? by NobleG1(m): 10:01pm On Dec 19, 2016
Ruleboi:
My mum's retirement party was yesterday. So me, my wife, and our three months old daughter had to travel down home to celebrate with her. Me and my siblings are all graduates except for the last born,as expected we've all left home to chase our different dreams in different lands. So occasions like this now feels like family reunion IYKWIM. May I add that I'm the first born and the only married one out of her five children? So the occasion was the first one with the nuclear family finally getting extended.

To the real issue; It was time to take pictures.Several shots with various categories of people had been taken. So a picture of mum with her children was called. My siblings were already set. I was called on to join in. Soon as I joined, my wife, seeing another picture was about to be taken hurried along to join, and she was told by one of my siblings that it's a children alone with mum picture. I signalled to her to let us take the picture, but she refused. Immediately asking what I meant by that, she jokingly insisted she must join in the shot as she is now a child too. Others pleaded to let us take the shot first as we had taken several other shots earlier on. She insisted, and the picture was taken with her. No issues about it as it was just a picture, and we were in a merry mood.

Afterwards on our way back home, my wife started giving me some attitude. She had taken offense that I agreed to take the picture without her. I tried to make her see that such pictures could be good for memoirs. I cited an instance of dead elderly people's burial programme booklets, where such pictures could be labelled "mum with her children" during retirement party. She never saw reasons still. She had to seek her mum's opinion about it, and her mum opined that she was right. That's what got me confused. Was I really wrong, or were they just being African? What's your stance on this?

You didn't do anything wrong! She was at fault for not respecting the concept of that particular photograph! And that's a selfish behavior!

She wasn't your sibling and had no right to force herself into that picture! Her attitude could make your extended family hate her! My family won't tolerate that attitude and they won't allow her to be in the picture!

You need to be careful. You've a selfish wife who's controlled by her mother.
