To add to what jogojogo has said when applying for your spouse did your by chance submit any nigerian job or claim to get a study leave from your work place in nigeria? If yes they might want to see that. If no then submit the pay slips of your part time job in canada. But sincerely something must have trigered or waranted that request so think well and be careful in responding. It will end in praise
Just went through my documents i submitted in 2019, I attached a study leave letter with pay from my office in Nigeria. Does this mean I have to source for pay slips and include them? This quite confusing. Spoke with some people this morning and they advised that this request letter is specifically for spouses already on PGWP. |

my program is two years and started in 2020 to end in May 2022 I am still a student and not eligible for PGWP yet. The study permit expires AUGUST 27TH 2022 In additon to others' comments, may I ask: 1. Was your program supposed to be for a year? 2. Were you 'ideally' expected to have had a post-graduation work permit already? 3. The study permit you used to support your spouse's application expires/expired when? It is very unlikely they will ask you for payslips when you are not expected to have a full-time work.
|

DeeWan: If really you think you can discredit my name, kindly upload your proof that I am up to tricks. I know how many people have used the same man I gave you his contact. There's only one place to get that authentication and it's Abuja. Ask anyone on nairaland. If you are really serious call me on video so I can show you mine. I don't have time for kid games. |

Please for those that have applied using this new portal, do children under 5 years require IRCC written authorization? |

oreafe: Yes, I have sent an email and webform to Nairobi this morning stating that the purpose of travel is strictly for reunification of family via open work permit and not with any intention of visiting. I also attached the gcms notes, proof of relationship, letter of application for authorization which was submitted earlier, spouse TRV, study permit, and passport data page. This afternoon, I as the spouse in Canada has contacted the MP office in my area and they have requested for information on the application so as to ask IRCC the status of my wife's application. |

Good day house. I am currently trying to figure out the exact meaning of this Gcms notes because its very confusing and I am also consulting with other people on it. NOTE: In the application letter, there was never any mention of my spouse coming to VISIT me, however, there was clear indication of her applying for SOWP and the main purpose was family reunification.

I received this reply for my wife's SOWP: Based on our assessment of your recent enquiry, we cannot process your request as you have not provided sufficient evidence that you meet an exemption criterion and/or that your travel to Canada is non-discretionary, per the travel restrictions implemented to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID‑19) in Canada. Even though you do not meet an exemption criterion and/or your travel has not been deemed non-discretionary, your application will now be put on hold until after the travel restriction pause has been lifted. Thank you for your interest in visiting Canada. Sincerely, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada MC24468 does it mean that people are not receiving this exemption and has anybody here been given the exemption to travel? |

Tonyodg: What many applicants don't understand is the power of research and reading constantly. This nairaland platform is gold and full of knowledge. I was refused may last year and I was hungry to get my next app approved. I took time to read as far back as part 11 to part 16, between May and November last year with full dedication and it paid off big time. I wrote what I would not have written on a normal day. I just used alot of combined advice and suggestions plus God's grace. Canada will be full of challenges and you need to write assigments, projects among other things. Let your study permit application be your foundation for what is to come. Peace 7 Likes |

Ijeanwuli: @YemmyPOG In addition to any other suggestions that will be given to you by the more experienced people, I advise you should also show funds that would be used to carter for your family in your absence. This was one of the refusal reasons in my first application: "Personal assets and financial status". Eventually, in my 2nd application, I had to show around 3.5 million and state clearly in my SOP that its for my family while am away. You might use a lesser amount, it depends on what you have. Good luck 1 Like |

ron5ke: I would advise you draft an LOE that would come first before the SOP. This LOE would state the refusal reasons and clarifications on how the refusals were addressed in detail; one by one with their individual sub-headings. How has your current situation has changed? Have you added new documents to support your statements? Did u forget to add any vital documents and you have now added it? State all of it. Good luck |

Lekiboboe: My brother, @NwanyiOkpa One very important advice, upload all the documents you feel that will be vital to your application. Don't remove docs because someone said it is too much. In total, I uploaded 24 documents and still got approval. It all depends on your situation. Goodluck 2 Likes |

xprimate: Bro, I believe that some dedicated people took time to write out an SOP structure at the beginning of this thread. You can find how to use subheadings to explain and link your documents in your SOP. Secondly, your personal account, what is the source of that money ? Do you have a freelance job or side hustle apart from your main job? Finally, since your job is not closely related with your intended course? What was your previous bsc and your current job description ? 1 Like |
