Here's how my partner and I do it: we have 3 joint accounts for expenses, savings and holidays. Because we don't earn the same amount of money, we decided that each person contribute the same percentage of their income to each account (30% each for expenses, 30% savings, 10% holidays) The remaining 30% left in our separate accounts is spending money for each person to spend however they like. This has been working for us. The key is to find a formula that works for you guys.

to help his application if its one of the sections on the online upload page he needs to add it.. let your brother attach (1)the tenancy agreement with (2)a letter from his colleague stating that they are colleagues and equally both bonafide occupants of the house and that they share the accommodation, (3)attaching also any of his colleague’s photo ID and then (4)rent receipt (5) maybe utility bills to further buttress the genuinety of his case
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by nomad26: 11:00pm On Jun 20, 2019
Hello house, pls is it necessary to include tenancy agreement for a visitor visa application? My brother is applying for a visa and in the application checklist, there's a section for 'Home address - documents showing where you live'. He currently shares a flat with his colleague and his name is not on the tenancy agreement. Has anyone successfully gotten visit visa without including tenancy agreement?

Hello FAM;

My family knew when i applied and how hopeful i was to get PPR by 3months as i arranged my documents carefully. and that theory " if you had if difficult post ITA... It will be faster for you post AOR" Lols... Bullshit... I wrote IELTS 3 times, i submitted LLb, BL, Msc for evaluation .. Didn't know at the time i only needed my masters... So imagine evaluation from 3 Nigerian institutions with WES. From the day i started this process till now .. 1 year 6 months. Lols.

See, not every one will get that 3 months timeline... Not everyone will get the before 6months timeline. Some like me ...will for whatever reason best known to CIC will be tested in patience... Be ready.
Hopefully soon i can complete it by saying " Be ready, though you pass through the furnace of patience the fire shall not burn thee because thou shall come out victorious"...

TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 8 by nomad26: 7:08pm On May 27, 2019
The fact that CIC requests that the letter contain 6 months average balance doesn't necessarily mean you have to keep complete POF for 6 months. I have a friend who built up his POF with his salary within 4 months. Basically he didn't touch his salary at all (wife was covering all bills) and his average monthly balance increased gradually until he had complete POF. He submitted his application shortly afterwards, without waiting 6 months, with bank letter + six months bank statement and he got PPR in December.
My point is that people should know the facts and then package their applications accordingly. All CIC want to know is that the money is readily available to you. They don't demand that your POF be in your account for 6 months.

ladymarshall:
If you read carefully that link you posted, you would see that the bank letter you provide as required by CIC is supposed to contain your average balance for the past 6 months. Most bank letters do not provide that detail and so people are advised to provide 6 months account statement to show that detail. People who use only savings accounts (not gift deeds) as POF are advised to provide 6 months bank statements as well.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 8 by nomad26: 12:39pm On May 26, 2019
I have not seen it stated anywhere on the official website that you must leave the money in your account for 6 months. I don't understand where people are getting this info from, read further here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/documents/proof-funds.html
I advise you to do extensive research on your own on the official website. Good luck.

Aigbemare:
I never said I couldn't wait for my family and it's not even sure that I'll be able to raise that money sef with them. I said I couldn't wait the 6mths for the money to stay in my account before I present it. And I only asked for other options of presenting a POF without using gift deeds as you have to be convincing enough with them.

Hi, see reply below:
ketutheo:
Good Morning house, pls I will like to find out if its possible for me to apply for the express entry as I am in Nigeria and my wife is in the United States. The Medicals, biometrics and all, can it be done separately (mine in Nigeria, hers in the US). Yes, this is possible. My spouse and I did them in different countries.

Secondly, for police report is scanned fingerprints allowed or it must have to be couriered. Yes, fingerprints can be scanned, several people have done this and received PCC.

Thank you.

I also wrote in the uk in December and had 6.5 in writing & 7.5 in speaking. If you're sure you met the required word limit in your essays and you structured your essays well, then please consider EOR.
In my case, I called the test center and they emailed the EOR form to me. I filled it (requested remarking for writing & speaking to increase chances of getting my money back) and scanned it back to then, then posted the result certificate back to them. They called me as soon as they received it and I paid the EOR fee of £70 over the phone.
About two weeks later, I was sent an email that EOR was successful (writing changed to 7, speaking to 8.5).
I hope this is useful for you. Don't give up, it will all end well!

Lol welcome to the world of insurance, unfortunately this is how it works, they are bloody thieves. Try and check comparison sites to see if you can get cheaper, also check Aviva. I pay less than £500 and I've only had my full UK licence for 1.5 yrs.
Please don't think about lying o, it will invalidate your insurance and you won't be covered if you are involved in an accident. All you can do is start building your no-claims history and in a few years, your insurance should reduce.

Mamatukwas:
Na Wa for this country oh! I thought that after I pass my driving test,my Insurance should go down. Instead our Providers are claiming that as a New driver I’m a high risk driver and want to add £400 to our existing insurance for our previous car and this one that we want to do, they are costing at over £900. So should we just kuku lie and keep renewing with Intl Driver’s license. I’m confused.

Since you studied computer science, have you considered the British Computer Society certification? Some people have confirmed that this has been positively evaluated as 2 or more degrees. Here's the WhatsApp link that was posted here a while ago, you should join and find out more about this option. https:///Fv1vy6tD7ng07oPlVtqh4K

Denerystormborn:
Hello house,I need advice.after simulating my crs score using the tool, even after maxing out my ielts scores, the points still stands at 436.I am single, will be 30 in August and have only a Bsc. With the trend of points being called for Ita,it looks like a long one with my score.i studied computer science and I am a data analyst. Here are my questions

1.are there any proffesional courses I can take that I can use to claim another degree as two or more degrees?

2.does this mean, even when I am done with the course, I have to re-evaluate it with my bsc again to claim 2 or more certificates, being that I am almost done with my wes evaluation.

3.I thought of pnp,but from what I read here,it's a really long route, what are my chances with pnp?does this mean I have to wait may e an extra year?

4.how easy is it to get a job from here, seeing that getting a job can also boost my points?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 8 by nomad26: 7:02am On May 24, 2019
This happened to me back in 2017, very frustrating something I tell you! My results were released after 2 weeks of waiting. Some people say that this happens if there's a band difference greater than two in your scores, not sure I believe that though. I'd advise you to give them a call, maybe they can give you more details.

Ekeh2016:
My Niece got this email today from British Council, that her result is withheld

Who has received such letter before and how long did it it take to release the result?

We refer to your IELTS test of 11/05/2019.
Strict quality control procedures are in place to protect the integrity and security of the IELTS test. As part of these procedures, test results are routinely analysed by the IELTS Test Partners before they are issued to candidates.

Nothing to worry about, counterfoil = visa. It just means that you will require a visa in your passport once you receive PPR since Nigeria is not a visa-exempt country for entry into Canada.

harry41:
Hello House,

I just got my gcms notes and I’m reviewing it. I noticed a section that states “counter foil required : yes”

Any idea what that means? I’m 2 days left to click 6 months

Delta is very notorious for this. Happened to a friend of mine 2 years ago, when he bought a ticket to the US for his sister coming from Nigeria. He was asked to go to the nearest airport to him and present the credit card to the Delta help desk for validation.

As for BA, I have used my credit card on two different occasions to buy tickets for my spouse flying from Nigeria to UK, but they never requested for the credit card at the airport, so I doubt anyone will pay attention to this in your case.
For your peace of mind sha, call them to find out what they suggest.
wengerly:
Good people,

I booked a flight for someone in naija and paid with my credit card, and BA has a clause on their website that if the payer is not among the travelling party then the credit card should be produced at the booking office before the traveller can be allowed to fly. How do I resolve this? Do I have to write a letter to BA or do I scan my Credit card and send to the traveller?

Anyone encountered such before?

Thanks in advance

TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by nomad26: 3:14pm On May 05, 2019
No I don't know any bank that offers such. However not every search affects your credit score. Try your current bank first, they may be able to give you the exact rate, based on how you manage your account, without running a hard credit check (affects credit score) first.

LLoyds and Barclays do a soft search (doesn't affect credit score) when you fill out their eligibility checker and they will tell you the true rate but it is not likely to be a low rate.

Wait for others to chip in, you will get more info as I have only attempted to get a loan once.

jedisco:
That's interesting... Never thought of that. And I was already making plans.. The thing is that I need the bulk sum. Do you know any bank that offers good true rates for new entrants? Also switching to another bank just after two months may not avail me such opportunity as yours. Also, I heard it goes into your record once you apply (even if its rejected) and thus may affect your credit rating in the future.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by nomad26: 12:43pm On May 05, 2019
It shouldn't affect your ILR application. Bank loan has nothing to do with Immigration.

One thing to note sha is that just because they told you 3.3% doesn't mean that they will offer you that rate. It is only after you apply, that they will tell you the true rate. Last year, I applied for HSBC loan of 10k after seeing the same 3.3% on their website, however they offered me a rate of 10.5% even though I have a good credit score and had been in the UK just over a year at the time. I told them no thanks and instead got a Barclays 0% credit card (balance transfer and purchases) for 28months with 11k credit limit.

jedisco:
Hello house

Just a quick question about personal loans and ILR.
I'm just a few months in the UK. want to apply for an HSBC personal loan of between 10-15k so as to settle some issues back home. The interest rate is about 3.3% which I think is relatively fair. Also, I may choose to pay back the loan within 1-5 years which I don't think would be an issue. My main worry is whether it would affect my ILR application in 5 years time. Also, from practical examples, how likely am I to get it seeing that I've just recently arrived Uk? I had called the banks customer care and they went through my profile and said I should be able to get it. Any opinions?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by nomad26: 3:51pm On May 03, 2019
I'm assuming you're not post-AOR. They don't actually request for SOA or payslips, the only mandatory requirement is the work reference letter. But if you receive an ADR later on for payslips/SOA, then will suggest attaching a letter from your employer and/or LOE written by you, explaining the reason for the discrepancy.
Progress2468:
Good morning Fam,

Please the amounts (monthly pay) on my payslip from my previous employer for which am claiming points are not exactly the same as what is on my SOA.

Please is it a source for concern?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by nomad26: 3:45pm On May 03, 2019
I remember someone here saying that emailing NIS or contacting them on social media helped. I'd suggest you try that, hopefully it works for you too.
Pabodan:
Please I need help regarding processing of passport at Alausa Passport Office, Ikeja.
