No you don't need to fill anything there. Your ECA will be shared with IRCC regardless, because it is for immigration.

No I didn't show proof of funds. However, my employer gave me a separate letter confirming maintenance for my dependant, even though maintenance was ticked on my CoS.
Mamatukwas:

Thanks for clarifying. Just to be clear, you also didn’t have to show any proof of funds for your partner? Just the confirmation of maintenance for dependents on the COS sufficed?

Yes I am very sure, I was speaking from experience. My partner joined me many months after my CoS had arrived and we submitted it like that. The CoS is issued for the sponsored person NOT for the dependants so it doesn't have to be valid for the dependant's application.

Mamatukwas:

Sir are you sure about this please? The COS is only valid for 3 months from date of issue after which if appying for dependents you can’t use the number of an expired COS and you will be like asked.

@Heritagee what I believe most people who do not apply at the same time for their dependents do is they save up the money requirement and apply using that. Else you get a valid COS and that might cost you. Cheers.
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by nomad26: 2:55pm On Jan 26, 2019
I'll answer the first part of your question: the expiry date on your CoS doesn't matter for your dependants' application. The CoS is just proof of your sponsorship.
As for the second part, I think it should be ok since it is stated on your CoS, but maybe try to verify from your colleagues who have gone through similar process.

Heritagee:
The expiry date on my CoS is 11 October. I came into UK in September, can I still use it for my dependants application? I have requested for maintenance letter fron my employer but they said they have not been giving maintenance letters to others who have been bringing in their dependants, that they've been using only CoS since it's already written on the CoS that they would provide maintenance.

Hmmm I know somebody too, pushing 40 with only Bsc. His agent is telling him that he doesn't need to write IELTS and that PPR will definitely come. Me I am tired of talking because he is not listening. He is hell bent on wasting money so make I siddon look to see how this 'miracle' will happen.

You're welcome. Good luck with the application!

Thanks for all the responses. I intend inviting someone and I will be scanning all the necessary documents including the invitation letter to her.

Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by nomad26: 2:27pm On Jan 22, 2019
I sent to my parentd and they printed them. I did not send anything to the home office.
MollyBank:

Thanks for the swift response.

You sent them to your parents and they printed them off or you sent them to the home office?

I'm asking because someone said the person you are inviting must take the original copies to the biometric venue, that means I will have to send the copies through DHL or something?
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by nomad26: 11:49am On Jan 22, 2019
I had electronic copies of the documents, which I sent via email. For the cover letter, I typed it and just inserted a scanned copy of my signature, which was then sent via email too.
MollyBank:

How did you send these documents to your parents? Did you scan them through or you sent the original through courier?

Are you moving within the same town? If yes, search for 'man and van' on gumtree and call them to make enquiries. They are usually self-employed guys looking to make extra cash with their vans. Try look for ones that have had their gumtree profile for a while, so you don't fall for scammers.
This is what I did when I moved last year. I spoke to 5 guys I saw on gumtree and eventually settled for one that was available on the day I wanted. It cost me £60 (£30/hr, might be different for your area sha). I had already packed my things and I wasn't moving far away so it only took two hours. He also helped with loading into the van and unloading at my new place.

fatima04:

Yes, it was paid to the DP scheme, however our letting agent did not want to release the last occupier (who was a Nigerian), even gave her a bill to pay them, she challenged it though but not 100%certain she got it back.

Didn't know one could rent van dt cheap..will explore the option. Thank you.

Sorry I couldn't locate the exact copy. I'll try and describe it here. I created a table with 4 columns - Date, Amount, Sender and Purpose. My parents are business people so they had many large deposits coming in from their customers. I went through each bank statement and typed in all deposits that were above 150k.

cc: lovesavvi, sorry I don't have access to the email do can't reply to PMs.

I've searched my PC, unfortunately I couldn't find it anymore. Let me try and summarise what I wrote. In the invitation letter for my parents' visitor visa, I wrote that I was inviting them on holiday for xx amount of days, that they will be staying with me at my address, that I will be fully sponsoring their trip. I also mentioned the trip budget and the bank account that the money was in. I mentioned my job and the company I work for and my tier 2 visa expiry date. I wrote a bit about what my parents do for a living and that they will return back to Nigeria after their vacation to continue running their businesses.

For my partner's tier 2 dependent visa, I wrote a short cover letter stating how long we had been married and that I support his application to join me in the UK. I mentioned when we started dating and that we have attached photos and whatsapp messages to prove that our relationship is genuine. I think that was all.

Heritagee:

I'm in the process of applying for my husband and son as dependants and my mum as a visitor. Can you please share a sample of the cover letters for both?
Thank you in anticipation of your kind gesture

Don't panick o, my school also requested for a form from ICES. I downloaded it from ICES website, filld it out with my details and sent to the school. Check this link and download this document 'Request for Academic Records Authorization'.

Denov:
I submitted my online application. It reads submitted. I didn't get a print out before submission, but when I went to my University, they asked for the ices form to apply for my transcript. I'm really worried. Please help, those who used ICES for ECA Evaluation. Thanks.

Naiobi:
Hello all,

Does anyone know the fee for priority tier 2 dependent visa? I have searched on the website but all i get is the one which says is only available if you're applying from the UK; and then I think I also saw something about it no longer being available (if you're applying from outside the UK).

Thanks.

No need to worry, it won't affect your application. For tier 2 application, all they want to see is that you have had the maintenance requirement for the required number of days.

Naiobi:
I just came across a thread where someone mentioned cash/money lodgment as grounds for visa refusal.

Thing is, my tier 2 dependent Visa was refused late last year because we didn't present a satisfactory maintenance letter to cover for my family (I am the dependent), we resorted to using a bank statement to support my next application.

Now, because my partner won't be applying with us (+child), we decided to use my own personal account which has my name in full as seen on my passport (we didn't use my other account which is more active because it has just my first and last name).

After reading about cash lodgment now, I am a little afraid that the ECO will likely have issues with the fact that the account didn't always have funds in it, just a few thousands here and there (prior to the commencement of the 90days).

We paid in the the total sum of the required maintenance cost for my child and I (plus a little extra to allow for fluctuating exchange rate), and are just waiting for the total of 90 days to be up before we reapply.

I just need to know if the cash lodgment will be a problem, so we don't go wasting money and time again and find another alternative.

Kindly advice.

Many thanks.
Cc @justwise

Since you're the PA, I suggest moving everything to personal history to simplify this matter. Contrary to what Swansy10 said, there is NO additional points for spouse's work experience.

Swansy10:

He doesn’t need reference letters from all 10 years, 3 years and above is what is needed. The rest should go to personal history. You’re good to go. Goodluck
