Join me in thanking Baba God in heaven. Visa application for my wife and boy was successful. They got their visas today after 10 working days, just standard application.
Come oh, those people stamp no sportsman for my boy visa angry They are joking, tell them the Chelsea Messiah is coming, those Manchester people can't continue to do us anyhow.
Serious question, when can I start chopping that maintenance funds? I'm tired of looking at money in my account that I can't use, and I never buy pot.

Same thing happened to me, I didn't want anyone in my office to know so I told HR that I need a reference letter for an international program that I applied for and I specified the information I wanted them to include in the letter. I also told them to address it 'To whom it may concern'.
Unless your HR are aproko people, they shouldn't ask you for additional info.

Hello E-fam, not sure i have come across a link with work reference ( if you don't want your employer to know about your immigration plans more so its a new job). Requesting for work reference seems like a herculean task. what can i do in a situation like this. the only reference on page 1 is a prototype for work reference. i have my well detailed employment letter and tax deductions.

I don't have the file anymore o, here's what I did sha: I created a table with 4 columns - Date, Amount, Sender and Purpose. My parents are business people so they had many large deposits coming in from their customers. I went through each bank statement and typed in all deposits that were above 150k.
Hope this helps!

yes it should be adequate. Good luck with your application!
brideofchukky:
I would say the area of concern where I have seen people having issues is in proving that your relationship to your partner is genuine. You would need to submit joint account statements, birth certificate of children, screenshots of whatsapp messages, pictures, emails, flight tickets, etc.

@nomad26 we have most things covered except we don't run a joint account and I changed my WhatsApp phone number and deactivated the old line recently, now only have call logs and chat history from this month. We intend to use vacation pics, some of our wedding pics, pics with our child, emails and flight tickets, child's birthday cert. These should do right?

Maybe I am not understanding you properly o BUT I am still of the opinion that you don't need to explain anything. Application requirements for PBS visas are very precise unlike visitor visas. How or why you move money into your account doesn't matter. The exchange rate on your application submission date is what will be used to verify if you have kept the required amount of money for 90 days. If you had way more than that amount, even better. If you had less than that amount at any point in time during the 90 days, your application will be rejected regardless of if you attach a letter explaining why. There's no grey area, it is black and white.
brideofchukky:
I misunderstood the circumstances justwise. I see there's a difference between money movement and source. My main reason is in bold below, another reason is because after noticing a rise in the exchange rate on oanda.com in recent weeks and most likely get worse during the elections, we decided to add more funds so we don't fall short, just to be safe. your input will be appreciated @justwise

"can I say I don't keep money in the other personal account that I did the transfer from because I do not have ATM card for it and so when I get money, I just send to the one I presented so I can have access to it? Can I say the one my partner sent (300k) was for our upkeep? Since he was not been around? Please @justwise and thank you for your previous response"

No, explanation of money movement is not necessary for a tier 2 visa. She doesn't need to explain source of any deposit. What is mandatory is that she keeps the required amount in her or her husband's bank account for the stipulated 90 days. Check out posts by thonerow, he got his visa regardless.

justwise:

Yes you need to explain those money movement in your account either with a separate paper or within the application

No there's no issue IF your crs score is high enough to get ITA (>440) Go to this link and check your score without your spouse's eca/ielts. Don't forget to indicate if your spouse is accompanying or not as this also impacts your score

Yes you can, it is completely fine, so long as you have a full year experience as a teacher. It is not mandatory to have experience in the same field as your educational qualification. Please go ahead with peace of mind, good luck with IELTS!

The checklist is based on what you fill and will only be generated after you have filled all sections of the application. Check this link and you'll see a generic list of documents which should give you an idea.

I sponsored my folks on a visit visa last year, I'll try to answer based on my experience (see answers in bold below
Heritagee:
I'm on tier 2 visa and planning to apply for my mum as I'm expecting a child. I want her to come around for support. I've only spent 5 months in UK. I want to fully sponsor the trip.
I intend to submit these documents
*Coverletter that will explain our relationship and that I will fully sponsor the trip
*5 months bank statement (Can I print out the online statement or must it be stamped by the bank?) Yes, this was exactly what I submitted, with no stamp from the bank
*5 months payslip
*Tenancy agreement
*1 month utility bill (I've been staying in a shared apartment)
*Receipts of money sent to her since I came to UK
*Her bank statement (just stipends sent every month by children)
*My BRP and passport data page

Like how much should I have in my account as the closing balance? It's my salary account and I have less than 2k in it. Can I transfer more money into this account, will it raise an eyebrow? How much is your budget for her trip and how long is she staying. This will help to know if 2k is sufficient. In my case, my parents were staying for 2wks and I budgeted 3k for trip. I had total of ~5k in two separate accounts, one of which was my salary account and I submitted bank statements for both accounts. If you have another account with money in it, I'd advise submitting it as part of your application just to show that you can pay for your own upkeep and your mum's trip comfortably.
What other documents will I need? I attached my birth certificate as proof of relationship. Here's a complete list of what we submitted in case it's helpful https://www.nairaland.com/2655931/general-uk-visa-enquiries-part/477#69102322

Your responses will be greatly appreciated

Oga, enough of this faith/conviction ish, please provide proof to back up your statements or keep it to yourself. Stop discouraging people abeg. For many of us, every penny/kobo counts, money doesn't grow on trees.

To everyone who decides to go for EOR, follow COPR's advice - after submitting your application, send an email to the relevant exam body, that way you are sure that your result is sent to the appropriate parties for remark. Personally I have NOT seen any evidence to back up the claim that marking more than one section affects EOR outcome. Good luck everyone!
Blooit004:

I am a man of faith, and I believe if you need an upgrade in writing only but decide to include speaking when you don't really need it just for the possibility of refund then you lack conviction. And it's no way to exercise Faith.

Oya oooo...you people should gather round. It's my turn to testify. I've been reading people's testimony since part 3, now it's my turn grin

God has finally freed me from the shackles of IELTS (shudders at the mention of that test) after 3 attempts.

As a pharmacist, I've written extremely difficult exams
in pharmacy school and passed them all. Never have i imagined I'll be humbled by an examination in my lifetime.

Actually started preparation very early, around june, cause i wanted to "blast the test in one sitting ". Started with listening and was doing excellently in all my practices. I however concentrated more on writing, since almost all the 6.5 I've been seeing on this thread has always been on writing. Registered for November 10th with MOD after almost 5 months of practice, so you understand how high my confidence was. Well.....

1st attempt: LRSW 7,6.5,7.5,7.5.

The 7 in Listening was understandable cos somehow, mysteriously, i just panicked in the middle of the listening test and couldn't follow the conversation. There was this sudden urge to get all the answers right that made me panicked.

Reading, however, was a shock. shocked i could have sworn I'll get a 9 in it. If not for the listening score, i would have reqiested for a remark.

Surprisingly, writing turned out better than i had expected.

Well, i shook that one off and registered for the next one, this time with intense focus on listening.

2nd attempt, MOD, LRSW 7.5, 9, 8, 7.

this time i was completely devastated cos i was very sure of, at least, an 8 in the listening. I followed every part of the conversation and was totally calm throughout the test. This one so angered me that i applied for a remark. Still awaiting the outcome though. My 46k must return to me cheesy

I gathered all my life's savings and registered for the 3rd time. It was hell surviving without a single penny. By this time i was so used to the listening tests in the Cambridge series that i could predict the answers. So i delved into youtube and Practised all the tests i could download.
Went for the exam and....

3rd attempt: MOD, 19/1/19 LRSW 9,7.5,7.5,7.

Funny enough, during the test, the same panic that came over me in the first attempt came again, but this time, i heard the answers, just that i wasn't following the conversation the way i should, so i wasn't sure of about 7 answers. After the test i gave up, & started thinking of how I'll raise the money for the next attempt.

Later in the evening, i decided to visit the IELTS chat room on telegram where the answers are usually discussed after a test. Infact i almost had a heart attack when over 6 answers i wrote did not match what majority were sharing. To make matters worse, the majority were unanimous about the answers.
Well, since i got a 9 in my listening, i guess i was the only one that got the correct answers among the bunch then. cheesy

ECA: was completed since December with PEBC. Thanks to baba Salford1 who came to my rescue at the dying minute. God bless you sir.
Current CRS score sits at 450.

POF: Absolutely no hope for this one yet. Just going blindingly on. But I'll rather get that ITA then decline it for lack of funds than sit idly by while this rare opportunity passes by. At least, in years to come, when my children ask why i didnt migrate when everyone was doing so, I'll show them my ITA as proof that i did tried my best to give them a better life.

Thanks to @Bellniki and @Reemefolaks for their wonderful support especially at those times when it mattered most.

I think I am now a banafide member of this thread cheesy and will be open to any questions about the process, especially for Pharmacists.
I hope to do a detailed breakdown of the ECA steps with PEBC too so others can learn.

And as for those of you who think this testimony is trivial, i used to think like you: "is it not just IELTS?". well, here we are after 3 humiliating attempts.
may you never experience this nightmare of multiple IELTS attempt. grin

I know many are still battling with the test, don't give up please. Keep pushing, and the next one will be definitely yours. Last last, it will end in praise for all of us.

Why do you advise to mark only writing? I was in this situation weeks ago and I marked both to increase chances of at least getting a refund on the fee. My EOR came back positive and in fact, both writing and speaking scores increased.

Mark only writing
Don't rush to apply for EOR next week, apply for it upper week

I would say put the date that you filled in your legal proceedings. I did a search on canadavisa website (see below) and I would suggest including LOE explaining that your divorce is not finalised yet to avoid unnecessary ADR. Check out this thread for similar cases.

Hi Guys, I am new here and not sure how to post on Naira Land... but here goes.

first I want to thank you for the wealth of knowledge shared here so far. I have received an ITA for express entry and I have a few more days to go before my time to apply is up (been gathering my requirements). However, I am unsure about how to fill my marital status in the form. In the initial EE profile, I put Legally Separated because, officially, I am going through a divorce process that has not been finalized. I have the legal documents following the proceedings of the divorce so far and plan to share it with my application.

However, at the PR profile level, there is a compulsory field that says I should state when the marriage ended and I am not sure what to out there is the Divorce is still pending. should I just wait the divorce is over. I have seen online that people have applied even while going through a divorce so i know there is a solution for this. I just don't know what to do here. Please see the photo attached.

Can I put the date of the last time I saw him as the End date?

Thanks in advance

This part is just for research purposes, it doesn't affect your application in any way. They just want to know if your field requires a licence to practice and if you've done anything towards that e.g for engineers, have you started the APEGS process, etc.
If you haven't done anything, answer 'No' to the previous question and move on.

I don't why it is asking you for $20 extra. I evaluated one degree and two copies were sent to me at no extra cost. Check your application again to see that you've not included anything extra. What postage option did you select - normal or courier? And are you sending to a Canadian address or overseas?

Thank you.

I tried paying for both evaluation (Bsc and PGD) which $400 but $20 was also included in the summary for an additional copy. Please, how do i exempt it from the payment.

Please, if you are evaluating for B.sc and PGD with ices

1. Will I have to pay the $200 for each of the degree which will be $400 for both because I want both as two or more certificates. Yes, $200 per degree

2. If no, how do create my profile so that both Certificates can be evaluated and my payment will be $200 With ICES, this is not possible

3. I want to send the Bsc via posting and the PGD via email. Hope it is ok, because they are both different schools.Yes you can do this but please follow through regularly with ICES so that you will know if there's any additional verification needed (some people have reported this).
