No you don't need a credit card, I used a debit card and it was accepted.
No you don't need to evaluate WAEC, just your highest degree - MSc.
For future queries, try and search on the thread first, most questions have already been answered multiple times.
Nicole995:
Good morning All. Please I am using ICES to evaluate my credentials.
1. Is it compulsory to use a credit card?
2. Would I still need to evaluate my WAEC certificate? My highest degree is MSC.

Thanks.

The MOT test is done once a year so the history may or may not reveal that information but you should definitely check it. Also, I'd advise to inspect the car before you buy it, especially if you're buying from a private seller. When I bought mine, I went with a mechanic friend who inspected the car and we did a test drive before completing the deal.

Yinkzy03:
Hello all,

Please guys can one use the history of a car's MOT to know if the car had had major issues in the past?

I know of a fact that used car na used car, anything can happen at anytime, just trying to play as safely as possible.

Many Thanks

Yes you can complete medicals at different centres, different times, even different countries sef.
mizGene:

Great! Thank you. I'm sure of ITA once I dive in. Just waiting on wes.
Anyone know the closest date for IOM? I believe IOM and qlife are the only centers in Lagos. What are my chances if I go in really early without a prior appointment tomorrow?
Also I read that unaccompanying spouse needs to undergo medicals as well, can ds be done at different times at same or different centers since we are not together always and spouse cd be in any part of the country..?

I am assuming that Nigeria is your country of residence and that at some point in time, you have lived there more than six months in a row. If this is correct, then you need PCC from Nigeria. For your work country, you are not required to submit PCC since you've never stayed there 6 months in a row. However there is a possibility that you may be asked to submit it later on, at the discretion of your case officer. So if you can, I'd advise getting PCC from there too.
I also worked on rotation in a french country and this is what I plan to do.
nonsam1:
What PCC is required for someone is been working outside Nigeria for about 3 years but on a rotation of 2 months in the work country and 1 month Nigeria for vacation?
Will it be PCC from Nigeria or from the Work Country?or both?
Secondly If PCC is in French , Does it need to be translated to English or can it be submitted in French alongside other documents which are English.

Mine arrived 2 weeks after the stipulated date. I'd say wait a bit and call the post office regularly to find out if it has arrived to save the stress of going there physically multiple times. Alternatively, you can report via this link if it is more than 10 days late.

This is incorrect o. IELTS scores are locked when your post-ITA application has been received (AOR) NOT when you get ITA.

I'd still advise speaking to wakanow, Egypt air is part of star alliance and there might be a codeshare flight to Calgary. If you decide to book a separate flight from Toronto to Calgary sha, then it is better to book it in advance but give yourself plenty time to get your bags, clear immigration and check-in again.
Guitarlife:

Thank you. I bookee Egypt air to Toronto and it was dirt cheap NGN 200K I am not sure egypt air flies to calgary.

Maybe I will just hitch a local flight to Calgary.
Will it be wise to book a flight when I land or I should have someone do that for me before I land in Toronto ?

Not necessarily. The primary applicant must write IELTS but it is not compulsory for the spouse. If you have enough points to get ITA, then the spouse does not need to write IELTS. First thing to do is check your points without spouse IELTS, if it is more than 460, then your spouse may not need to write the exam. Current ITA trend has been 440-445.
Check your points here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp
Also read page 1of this thread, you will need the very useful information there.

Rbae:
Is there another way couple can migrate to Canada without writing IELTS? I was told the husband and wife must write the exam together to increase their points.

What airline are you flying? Some airlines will let you change your ticket online yourself for a fee (Delta, KLM, AF). I suggest you try this first. OR call wakanow and find out how much it'll cost to change the ticket. Landing in Toronto and then taking bus to Alberta is a long journey o and might not be your best option Alternatively, you may consider flying to Alberta (Calgary is 4hrs+ by flight and there's direct flight for 500 CAD). In summary, do more research, find out the cost and time of all options before you decide.
Guitarlife:
hi guys I need some help and advise.
I have gotten ticket for Toronto early next year.
I got the ticket via wakanow.

Now for some reasons I have decided not to settle in Ontario but Alberta, how should I handle my travelling now ?

Should I land in Toronto, do my documentation and after head to Alberta ?
Would there be any consequences to this ?

If I am to cancel my tickets with wakanow, would they oblige ?

please advise me, mind you I dont have any money to throw around o. Every single kobo counts.

I think both of you need to start working. If she is not having serious seizures, she can get a job even if it is part-time. You also need a job in Nigeria. Both of you need money. Moving to UK is not cheap, work for a couple of years in Nigeria and plan properly towards moving to UK, it should be a long term plan for both of you. You can visit each other from time to time until then. Good luck.

According to the application guidelines, when you are filling your post-ITA application, the system will not ask you for a PCC from China because you didn't stay 6 months in a row at any time.
However, based on past experiences from some people, there is a high likelihood that your case officer will request that you provide the PCC from China.
Now you have two options: if you want to be proactive, you can go ahead, get the PCC now and submit it with your post-ITA application OR you can wait until/if you receive ADR to submit it later.

Yes, you can combine two NOCs as long as they fall within 0, A or B skill level. By the way, if I remember correctly, I think you get maximum experience points with 3 years experience so alternatively you can consider only using one to claim points.

From my own experience, I am on tier 2 work visa and my partner applied for dependant visa, even though there was no plan for him to move permanently to UK, because he has a business to run in Nigeria.
If you plan to study in the UK for a long period (>1 year), then I would advice going for the dependant visa, he will be given permit to enter and leave UK as he wishes and it will have the same validity as your tier 4 visa.

Good morning everyone.

Please I need help and advice.

I applied for a UK standard visa for the first time this year, was issued, used it for what was intended and it expired this September. Have another training in the UK this week and I applied last week Monday for my visa. I emailed the international call centre to track my application and was told my visa status was decided Sunday midnight. The issue is that I am yet to receive a pick up email from the visa application centre at Ikeja and my training is due to start on Wednesday. Please what do you advice I do?

Any suggestion will help.

Thank you so much.

If you're using ICES, you don't need to evaluate WAEC, it won't give you any additional points.

Thanks Nlanders for always helping out. Do I also need to evaluate my WAEC Certificate as I am evaluating my Bachelors degree with ices? If I do will it give more points for EE selection? @smslive2, of course it won't be valid but that would also apply to a stay in any country regardless of the length of the visit. Somebody can commit a crime on their first day in a country they didn't live in for 6 months or more.
However according to the guidance on this PCC requirement, they haven't specifically requested for PCC from every country visited, just countries you stayed 6 months or more in a row.
It would be good to hear from people with similar experiences who got PPR.

smslive2:
What if he enters the UK after getting the PCC and then commits a crime, will the PCC still remain valid?
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by nomad26: 7:18am On Oct 17, 2018
@glowberry,
I completely agree with you. My interpretation of this sentence also was that his UK PCC should still be valid as he did not stay 6 months in a row this time i.e. he wasn't resident anymore but just visiting.

glowberry:

You can use it, this is what the website says

'For any other country from which you need a police certificate: the police certificate must have been issued after the last time you stayed in the country for 6 months or more in a row.'

You can also check for yourself here ; https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/apply-permanent-residence/police-certificates.html

You don't need any of these for a tier 4 dependent visa. What you need to present mainly is proof of maintenance fund and proof of your relationship to your wife. Check out the link below and do more research before you waste your money.

Good day @justwise and everyone,

I am applying for a Tier 4 dependent visa, my wife is on a Tier 4 student visa currently. I worked in a bank till last month (resigned). We run a cleaning service company which she was managing till she left.

I want to inquire if:

1. I can submit a Power of attorney authorizing someone else to manage our company in our absence?
2. I have no TCC - would the statement showing payments from clients suffice (though I am using a personal account statement to apply)?
3. Do I need a cover letter to explain all these?

To be honest, I can't really advice which order to do it.
In my case, I wasn't too confident that my school (foreign university) would respond so I didn't pay intially. What I did was that I created an account on the ICES portal, then I contacted my school with the ICES reference number. I only made payment after my school had confirmed that my transcripts had been sent to ICES.

Thanks. Do i make payment before contacting my school? i wont be free till Early January

Long post alert
Very Silent reader
Had been planning to write here but very busy.
So just a few pointers as someone might need them.
PRE ITA TO COPR STAGE
Wrote IELTS and evaluated my M.Sc certificate + IELTS only from spouse
PCC Nigeria + Uk
Scanned each document and saved in individual folder for me,spouse and child
Funds in Savings account UK,just stamped statement of account + Oanda exchange + table for the conversion etc as funds were in GBP.
Reference letter was from Nigeria and not very detailed so attached other proof as experience was over 3 years ago.
Submitted nearly 1 week to deadline as was so busy with work etc( infact took annual leave)
Medicals wasn’t too straightforward, more test done and more cost plus logistics .
Got to Ip2 before medicals were passed, ordered GCMS note saw a few concerns particularly work experience- worthy to note is that my education and work experience were so parallel.
Immediately got more proof backing work experience and more LOE sent via CSE called CIC letter confirmed twas received.
Summary at the end interview recommended and attended- explained job duties in simple and practical terms to the VO etc was a wonderful time, good chat and advice on living as a PR as eligibility became passed.
Fees paid/PPR, had an issue with photo passports submitted , photos requested again, all sent. COPR received
Advice- pls write detailed LOE when something is not straight.
Follow up with CIC and panel physicians when necessary.
Pray to God and do lots of research especially if you have a unique situation.
APPLIED FROM UK, VISA OFFICE- LONDON, NATIONALITY- NIGERIAN.
For anyone waiting, may God bring your PPR,COPR,IELTS to you soonest in Jesus Name.
I really hope this answers someone’s question. Thanks to all those contributing and helping others.

Hi veleta, this is sad, it is an attempt to rip off the customer and apparently this is quite common in the UK. Your story is similar to one I read on the Guardian a few weeks ago https://www.theguardian.com/money/2018/sep/14/why-am-i-now-liable-for-my-no-fault-accident-claim

Please read the comments, you might find useful advice there from other people's experiences.

veleta:
@Lexus430,and other experienced guys, please I would appreciate your input here.
We were hit by someone couple of months back and the lady that hit us accepted liability, thanks to CCTV.We got her details then forwarded them to our insurance guys(Admiral). The car was towed to garage for fixing then Admiral linked us to Auxillis which is a Car Hire Company as we were entitled to courtesy car.

We signed the agreement which included releasing our debit card details with them while waiting for the car to be fixed. After 3 days,we got a call from Admiral that the car was a write off hence,we would be reinstated and that once we get the cheque,we would have 1 week to return the courtesy car.We went ahead and bought another car even before they sent a cheque.

When we got the car,we called them asking for time and venue to drop the car but Auxillis kept on saying they would get back to us for the date and time. After delaying for 5 days, they eventually came and picked the car.

We got the shock of our lives when Auxillis sent a mail to us saying that the insurance company of the woman that hit us refused to pay for car rental hence, they appointed Principia Law firm on our behalf to recover the money.

Their argument is that we should have mitigated loss by paying for car rental upfront with cash as it is cheaper as opposed to agreeing for credit.Meanwhile, this option wasn't mentioned to us and the insurance company of the woman that hit us didn't offer to give courtesy car as they were the ones to bear the cost.

It's really frustrating knowing that we even got a new car even before we got cheque from them yet they still came up with this fraud. They sent a letter asking us to submit our debit and credit bank account details 3 months before and after the accident occurred.Their arguement is for them to ascertain whether we could have afforded to get a car by paying cash instead of agreeing to hire a car by credit and obviously, the account balance is very healthy.

What's your advise please?
