dcaliph: Proudly an Edo man, Op shey you know also that the Obi of Onisha is also from Bini lineage. Does that make Onisha a no man's land? u gave a wrong example, Onitsha pple migrated from benin and settled in their present site. The original inhabitants of the present onitsha are from idemmili/obosi. Therefore, onitsha is clearly Igboland. But lagos is inhabited by the awori ethnic group, the yorubas due to close proximity migrated to lagos, the aworis accomodated them and they(yorubas) started claiming ownership. So lagos is no man's land. |

Opinedecandid: You keep on mentioning 'one this', 'one that' and you conclude that Akwa Ibom does not deserve to be named amongst that fastest growing States in Nigeria. An Intl. Staduim of no mean repute is what you refer to as 'football feild'? The Nest of Champions that was picked amongst the best three stadia in the world in 2014? Before I favour your prejudiced position with a reply, I think you should answer some obvious questions which should inform an informed position. Do you live in Akwa Ibom? Have you even visited the State in the last 3 years? If your answer to any of those two questions is yes, then you deserve to be asked the third, who paid you to misinform the ignorant? Now answer this rhetorical questions: are you aware that Akwa Ibom has @least 3 Public/private hospitality Facilities: 5 star hotel in Uruan, 4 star hotel in Ikot Ekpene and a 3 star hotel behind the cinema you mentioned? Heard of Akwa Ibom International Airport with Maintenance, Repairs and Overall facilities? Are you aware that Akwa Ibom has a Specialist Hospital, A Teaching hospital and Several General hospitals? Are you even aware that Akwa Ibom doctors are well motivated with brand new cars and other incentives like special allowances? Are you aware too that medical students, law students are treated to special allowances, like Law school fees, laptops, etc in addition to the general Scholarships and bursaries? Are you even aware that Akwa Ibom is the first state in Nigeria that has implemented the Judiciary Workers special Salary scale? Do u know of the employment of staff into the state services? Have you heard of the 13 month salary paid to civil servant every December, popularly called, 'Akpabiomba'? Back to infrastructures and job opportunities, my friend do you know that Akwa Ibom has more than 10 Tertiary Institutions, including the recently approved Ritman University, and that about 8of those 10 are Public Institutions? Have you heard of the deep sea port, heard of gas processing plant, heard of independent power plant, different training and skill acquisition centres spread across different nooks of the State, some public, some private? Do you know of the facilities the Tropicana entertainment centre is built to house: the shopping mall and others? Do you know of the cassava, sugar and other processing mills under construction in the state? Are you aware that contrary to.the picture you are trying to paint, the development in Akwa Ibom State does not just start and end in Uyo, the state capital, but spread across over 70% of the LGAs in the State: Ikot Ekpene, Oron, Eket, Abak, Ikot Abasi, Essien Udim, Itu, Ikono, Uruan, Ibesikpo, Ibeno, Nsit Atai, Etinan, Nsit Ubuim and others? Let me pause here for now. Read, learn, admit i havent been to akwa ibom but your reply it shows you dont get the topic clearly. Now answer these questions. How many pple in akwa ibom state are above poverty line? How many are gainfully employed in the state (aside the nomal ekaete house maids that we know) how many citizens of the state attend tetiary education? What is the number of the primary and secondary school enrolment? And how does the state do in waec? How many towns/villages outside uyo has a bank and how many people (are comfortable enough to) operate a bank account? How many people live in decent houses outside uyo (even within uyo) how many higher institutions does the state have? How many communities have electricity, water, etc the state govt have tried its best to transform the state by building one of the best stadia in Africa, airport, and fine road expecially in Uyo. The problem is having more roads that cars, having airport without patronage, having a stadium without a league club or even pple who can afford the ticket to watch matches. Even the cinema in uyo had to be subsidized sometime so that pple can afford it. That is why the issue of poverty cannot be wished away. To me Lagos is still the fastest developing state followed by Anambra, Abuja (assuming its a state) etc. |

Denigrating Obi with falsehood and propaganda seem to be a hobby to some people now for whatever reason of theres. But like bird's feathers spread from the top of a mountain; we won't be able to gather back such ungrateful and ill-words against him. How much we will answer before God; only time will tell...thanks no other thing could spur you to defend another person albeit blindly except you are his close associate or his blood relation. I cant imagine how u re able to post nd reply ur own post with another account just to defend the monumental failure called obi. It is even pple like u that helped his govt to fail because instead of showing rooms for improvements through criticism, you chose to force it down the throat of pple that he worked, giving him the false impression that he is the best thing that ever happened to the state. Development is felt and not heard. It is a shame to find urself convincing us that a man who governed us for eight years worked. Shouldnt his achievement speak for him? Shouldnt the masses bear him witness without being forced to? Do u think soludo was wrong by saying he has no signature project? Do u think he worked and yet couldnt win a single senate seat for his party for eight years? Do u think its a good idea for a govt that supposedly performed for eight yrs to run to the president to help his successor win? Are u for real? |

Even recently, Bunmi and I were in the State to celebrate the Christmas and can attest to the transformational activities taking place in the State under Peter Obi. At 80, this gives me special joy.”
Dear, if I am lying; will this honourable man worldly acknowledged from Anambra state be lying too I didn't say he solved all of Anambra problems, but he laid a solid foundation and took us far away from where we used to be to a more glorious future...He also made a good succession plan by not handing over to a career or desperate politician but to a true professional... Families like yours are the type where women are to be seen and not heard because it seems that if a woman says something she believes in its either she gets shouted down or gets beaten up.

Politics › Chibok Abduction: Parents , Chibok community Condemn FG's Plan To Rebuild School by Noneroone(op): 6:52pm On Mar 09, 2015 |
Some parents of 219 abducted schoolgirls and concerned members of Chibok community, on Monday, condemned the recent visit by Federal Government officials to Chibok, during which the team led by the Hon. Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala pledged to rebuild the school, insisting that what they are after is the safe return of their children. Addressing Journalists at the Borno State Hotels in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, in the presence of hundreds of Chibok people resident in Maiduguri, the Caretaker Chairman of Chibok Council Area, Mallam Ba’ana Lawan, accused the Federal Government for making good its promises to rescue the girls. He expressed dismay over FG’s move to rebuild Government Girls Secondary School, GGSS, Chibok which was destroyed by the insurgents after abducting the schoolgirls, stressing that the traumatized parents and the entire people of Chibok community only want their children back home. “It is disheartening to inform you that since the abduction of these girls, the FG did not bother to send delegations to Chibok to sympathize with the parents, instead, the parents were invited to Abuja and conveyed in cargo military plane with no comfort whatsoever. “We observed that recently, President Goodluck Jonathan visited Mubi and Baga, but failed to visit Chibok to sympathize with our people. “We also observed that the President and Chief of Defence Staff, Air Vice Marshal Alex Badeh had severally promised that these girls will soon be released, but is it is now more than 300 days, and nothing of such has happened. We thank God and appreciate governor Kashim Shettima and his wife, Nana Kashim Shettima who did not only visited Chibok when the incident took place, but also secured admission to the 59 schoolgirls that escaped from the Boko Haram captivity to study in various schools in the country and all the assistance he has rendered to the parents. “It is most unfortunate that Chibok Local Government Area have witnessed six different attacks by insurgents and about 300 people lost their lives with properties worth millions of naira destroyed, hundreds of houses razed down as well as food and cash crops were looted. The most recent attacks being that of Gatamwarwa, Kautikari and other surrounding villages where several lives were equally lost. Yet there was no response from the Federal Government. “We therefore condemned the promised reconstruction of the school because what we want is the return of the girls, Lawan said. He however appreciated the persistence efforts of the ‘#BRING BACK OUR GIRLS’ group in Abuja who have been pressurizing the Federal Government to intensify effort in rescuing the innocent girls as well as the media in their consistent effort to ensure that the girls are freed safely. http://dailypost.ng/2015/03/09/219-abducted-school-girls-parents-chibok-community-condemn-fgs-move-to-rebuild-school/ |

my parents have been married for 40 years, pray together every night, have businesses together and all my siblings are happily married save me. So you want to say that governor fashola whose wife is a Christian and he a Muslim have a broken home abi.
guy use your brain sometimes, that's why God gave you. i rarely comment on topics like this but your comment prompted my reply. Your view of marriage is weird and scary. When two pple marry they become one till they die. The bible clearly states the wife must submit to the husband. You must accept his family, accept his name, his pple, his church and obey him in exchange for his love. just a little is permanent about girls till they get married. That is why they say that girls have no church till they marry. If u re not willing to leave ur church, dont marry him let him marry another person FITTING for him. ur family is a case of the tail wanging the dog instead of vice versa. That type of family is known for bringing up girls who have the impression that family decision is the wife's to make and that men should be subservient to their wives, hence ur orientation. U better change ur orientation if u want ur marriage to be blissful b'cos u might not be as lucky as ur mother. |

I'm Catholic, so are all other member of my family except my father who's Methodist. we only attend his church when he has family harvest and same goes for him when we have family thanksgiving in the Catholic church. not every family or couple can come to that understanding. my dad even went as far as getting baptised in the Catholic church just so he could marry my mother. a typical divided home! Whynotthetruth: Yes I repeat again, Nocen was comatose with no road even...Making it a university of education was one of the empty promises made by Dr Failure Mbadinuju... i didnt say there were promises, i said there were plans to make it a university of education. That wasnt even odera's govt. Whynotthetruth: Peter Obi built the road to the school, got the IT centre there; built about four different storey building and bungalow classroom blocks...hostels and toilet system (they used fly system; some schools call it shotput before Obi came), connected them to national grid...improved staff welfare...solved protracted leadership tussle there etc... anything short of upgrading it into a university is not an acheivement. Here u are shamelessly telling me that a governor who controlled billions of naira built bungalow, toilet and few buildings is an acheiver while mbadinuju who established a university is a failure. Both a definitly in the same league Whynotthetruth: I came from a background of civil servants...I can count pensioners who are related to me bro...I am no politician bro...I don't dig lies plz...Obi turned around the system that when my mum retired her pension and gratuity was assured and waiting for her within weeks of completing her documentation... iam neither a politician and i am light years ahead of u in civil service matters (i am not one thou] i put it to u that u re a blatant liar. U said he paid salary arrears, when i bursted it u started claiming that he paid pensions promptly. Is prompt payment of salary and pension suppose to be an achievement? Is it because mbadinuju failed? What would have happened if obi succeded mbadinuju immediately? Whynotthetruth: So how come Mbadinuju squabbles with Obi back then when Obi refused to pay his own pensions as former governor till he has cleared all arrears accumulated by Mbadinuju ngige cleared pension arrears mbadinuju only requested for his pension arrears (in writing) after obi assumed office and obi turned it down b'cos of personal vendetta. Though morally speaking, mbadinuju didnt deserve any payment having called workers dead wood, a governor shouldnt reason like that Whynotthetruth: If hiace bus is common and not a substantial achievement; how come I haven't seen them in public schools even in a state with big IGR as Lagos How come it hasn't been that way in anambra since its creation in 1991 i just gave u a valid example of enugu, our neigbour. He gave the schools buses but he didnt hire drummers to announce it like obi. He didnt adourn it with his pictures like obi, he didnt even consider it a major project. He didnt hire e-warrior like u who troll from thread to thread to defend him. Obi's dismal performance has left u with a psychic impairment. Which affects ur judgement of what achievement is. |

Whynotthetruth: Is either you are liar or not in Anambra...You said Obi did less in education 1)Who built at least one school block in all primary schools in anambra state? 2)Who gave new hiace bus, new equipped computer centres with generators to ALL secondary schools in Anambra?. 3)Who returned schools to their respective owners especially missionary schools? 4)Who revived the comatose Nwafor Orizu college of education Nsugbe? 5)Who built the new permanent site of Anambra university with roads etc and moved students there This is after Ono moved them to Neni...Mbadinuju moved them to Uli and Ngige moved them to Alor... Instead of Obi to learn from this bigoted tradition of moving the university to governor's town...He set up a committee that selected Igbariam hence he moved it to Igbariam instead of Agulu like others use to do... 6)Who cleared pension and salary arrears of civil servants and teachers? 7)Who implemented the minimum wage increments in anambra...
How can you guys spread hatred and animosity and ignorance publicly without qualms of conscience if everybody is spreading hatred and animousity then u need to check what u call reality. Nwafor orizu college of education was camatose? In your dream? There were even plans to make it a university of education b4 obi came and left not better than he met it. Obi cleared pensions? You are not an articulate liar. Ngige already did that before obi came. The only one obi met was those of the staff of the state water coporation. They dragged him to national industrial court and won, he went to the court of appeal and refused to pay them till he left. Obiano has paid more than 60% of the outstanding salaries. If u call hiace bus(which chime also gave to enugu schools) or handing school over to their original owners a project worth being remembered for, then i doubt what u call development. |
