alezzy13:$13M a billion naira or over 21 billion naira? |
ddippset:Exactly. I think his intention was to cause chaos, he knew he stood no chance. Meanwhile, Odubu, Oshiomhole’s deputy wanted to be governor too, but Oshio never supported him. The only difference was Odubu let go quietly unlike Phillip. |
I registered for NIN in 2015 with a phone number I no longer use currently, I have tried changing my number on their mobile app, but it’s saying I should go to their office to update it.

I never knew this powerful singer was dead until this very moment. Rest in peace, bro. Obimo and Ikenile Dinakagi were my favorite songs. |
OVB123:This is the problem with fools like you, you love derailing. This is a topic about a federal road being left in a state of decay, however instead of having something meaningful to say about it, you chose to exhibit to strangers on the internet how intellectually lazy you are. Akpa abobo! |
gbassa:For US, if you are applying for an immigrant visa it is one of the documents required. Non immigrant visa applicants are not required to provide this. |
PDPGuy:I wish it was effective on the 1st of April cos I will be arriving on the 3rd. |
Emmanuelakpan23:Try freecodecamp.org |
candidtalk:Trump says hello to the bolded. Lol |
Just two months, you are already worried? If you guys wanted a baby urgently, why didn't you plan for the pregnancy before the wedding then? Nigerians, we gotta realize marriage is not just for baby making but for companionship as well. Enjoy quality time with your wife and worry less about a baby. If the baby comes, then glory! Until then, If you are not financially stable, it is time to also work towards that because babies are not cheap. From pregnancy to birth, expenditure awaits! God forbids it's a difficult/complicated pregnancy, then some more expenditure. Recoup and recover from those expenditures during marriage and honeymoon, if any. How about emotionally and mentally, are you ready for it or do you want a baby because of the societal expectation of "in 9 months time".... Look, I don't mean to lecture you and I am not saying you fall in this category, but it annoys the hell out of me when I see so many people in Nigeria not prepared for a baby but want to have one just because that's what society expects. Some even borrowed money to marry, some got contributions from friends and family to fund their weddings. Even after the wedding, during pregnancy and birth. Some of us need to start thinking outside of the norm, seriously. Nigeria's population is skyrocketing, in abject poverty, for this outdated reasoning. |
lymelyte:Hahahaha! Reminds me of the ndlea officer that took the only Naira note(N500) I had with me that I wanted to use to remember my country as I was leaving to the US in 2019. I escaped all but that ndlea officer, he collected it without shame. He said how can you be wearing this kind clothes and be going to America and not have money to give. I shook my head in anger and disbelief. |
Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. Nothing changes for good, hardly in Nigeria anyway. |
Neddstark:Not all attempts at poisoning someone eventually kill them, just like not all shootings kill the victim(s) That is why 50 cent survived being shot at 9 times, but does it mean he wasn’t shot? No! My uncle’s wife poisoned him and his two sons, but they lived to tell the story. So your comment doesn’t make any sense whatsoever! |
DenreleDave:Is your ignorance by default or by choice? Either way; had you bother to read a few lines on the article, your ignorance would have been cured. It’s Benin republic(A country) not Benin City, the capital of Edo State in Nigeria. |
Being a single mother doesn’t always mean the woman had sex outside of marriage or decided to Bleep around to have kids. There are a lot of runaway husbands who abandon their child(ren) to the woman alone. If you can help, help. And if you can’t, that’s fine too. You do not have to tell anyone their life stories and remind them how unfortunate they are to be poor or struggling. |
Nuttella:Even Jesus Christ would have called Buhari and his fellow Nigeria politicians names. Being a christian doesn’t make you immune to nonsense and swallow it. The government, at every given opportunity call the masses and youth names, we can equally do the same thing, too! |
You are so right, Aisha! Your father is not the problem of Nigeria, but one of the biggest problems and a hypocrite! Aside Covid-19; before your father came into office, he bragged about banning medical tourism for all politicians — but little did we know that the grand patron of medical tourism will be your father and by extension, your entire family members. As a matter of fact, if your father had built a world class hospital since he came into power, you probably wouldn’t be in Dubai right now just for a childbirth. What about shortly after your father was elected in his first term; he claimed he had no idea what fuel subsidy was and that there was nothing like subsidy, only to tell us otherwise later on. And so many too numerous to mention. All our current crops of politicians are all in the same boat including your father. So sorry! |
Brandonx:Hmmm, it appears to me you are talking about a certain unit in the Nigeria Police force who sees supposedly successful young men and women as threat, and use the authority they were given to extort and assault them. Look, I sympathize with all the innocent private businesses who were caught in the middle of this chaos. However, the blame squarely lie on the government. The lack of leadership in this country is very clear even to the blind, and when there is lack of leadership, this is the result. |
African style! Happy birthday to you, legend. |
SocialJustice:A country where any random idiots can just order for someone to be arrested, is that a country? What evidence does he have against the parents to call for their arrest? The ONLY reason the stupid Naija police entity even go after innocent folks just like that is because they see it as an AVENUE to make money, not because they are really interested in investigating the case. Majority of police arrest in Nigeria are ILLEGAL arrest, and yet we encourage that illegal arrest without shame. SMDH |
Allee90:Social distancing cannot work at all times, period. I live in California, buses - even some grocery stores are still crowded that makes it hard to observe the 6 ft distance. Your best bet is to make sure you have a face mask on. |
With few exceptions, we have thugs, hardened criminals as police officers on the street of Nigeria, and they are definitely being aided and abetted by people in higher position in the police force, no doubt. Meeting monetary targets by harassing innocent citizens and exhorting them is mainly the reason majority joined the police force anyway. You are lucky to be alive to tell your story. Many have died and are still dying everyday in the hands of these criminal elements. They could have shot you dead and claim you exchanged gun fire with them. |
Mizwisdom:I really don't understand what you meant by why are they here. I have been a registered Nairaland user for about a decade, way before I left this country, and I still come here not because I miss Nigeria but because it is what I have been doing. I don't deny Nigeria is still my root and wish that it prosper for everyone regardless of your ethnic group, financial or social status. A question was asked, everyone gave their answers, whether positive or negative - it has to be accepted the way it is. |
After I finished my high school in 2005, I wanted to work and make money, so I was directed to a now defunct bank(Oceanic Sapele Road Branch, Benin City) to meet someone there to get a job as a janitor. I went there and met this man, he told me my salary will be N6, 000, but I must pay him N4,000 cash before I get the job. I told him I had no money as I just finished my high school and then told him to deduct it from my first salary in that case - it was as if I insulted him by saying that. He said no way that he is going to have to give the job to someone who can pay him. That was how I didn't get that job. It changed a whole lot for me at that point. Fast forward to about 15 years later, I landed in America with an immigrant visa. All I needed to apply for a job was a social security number (other than my visa). Started applying for different one online. I even got one without an interview - all that was needed to know was that I was legal, drug-free and able to work. That was it! No bribe, no payment of any sort. Now, among many other injustices and harsh life the average Nigerian man and woman has to endure, tell me why I should regret leaving. Listen, I am not saying my life is perfect here, but I have a lot to be grateful for. My only regret is not being able to bring all my family with me. |
post=86743883:Na who do you this thing sef? This same "Dad" has been saying the same damn thing since inception, up till now, he is still talking. Anyone, who once supported this man and did not withdraw their support the moment he started flying abroad for medical purpose after initially saying he will ban medical tourism for all politicians is worse than a disease! This is his last term, he did nothing during the first term, but you "lazy yoots" along with the "lazy elders" rewarded him with a second Term for nothing. |
abbey621:If only we can predict how long our "rainy day" could last for in all instances, that would have been great. There are rain that falls for one day, there are some that continuously fall for several days at a time. Save for rainy day, yes, but don't be so quick to assume many who are suffering today did not save anything for their own rainy day. Life happens! |
What a surprise!.... Said no one ever. No one expected Mitch McConnell whose wife is the secretary of transportation under Trump to rally for Trump removal. It wasn't going to happen. Everybody go rest easy now. CNN and co go need find something new to talk about. Well, as long as dem never close Trump Twitter account and stop him rally, na continuous sure news for dem. |
BigBashiru:And as expected, you didn't answer the question asked, rather wallow in your holier-than-thou attitude. It is well with you. |
BigBashiru:Hmmm, I am assuming you are a Nigerian, or an African. If so, what exactly have you yourself contributed that is worthy of note, to develop Nigeria/Africa in the last 5 years? I bet you are one of those who brag about vacationing in Dubai, Paris and London while ignoring Lagos, Calabar etc. You are here questioning random, maybe struggling, resourceless strangers on why they can't develop Nigeria while your president flies to London or Germany to treat ear infections. If a president, with all the power and resources at his disposal, couldn't build world class hospital in over 3 years to get himself treated in it, what makes you think an average Nigerian on the street whose sole aim is to survive is going to develop Nigeria, let alone Africa to America/Canada standard? Next time, this place is not going to be enough for you to ask this question. Just carry your bodi go all the embassies, ask all the visa applicants there why they can't fix Nigeria and come back to give your testimony. |
edoairways:You mean the same way Hausas classify everyone from the south as "nyamiri"? It seems to me we are all almost guilty of the misconception. Looking at your username here, one can deduce you are one of those people beating the drum of misconception combined with stereotype on and offline. |
agemmy113:Maybe she was confused with your bolded and wants an explanation. What is so hard about saying/typing "Good afternoon" or "Good morning"? I will want you to explain to me what you meant, too. Silly. |
