Travel › Re: The Real Reasons Why Many Are Stuck Abroad by Notatribalist(m): 11:59am On Oct 01, 2019 |
sweetmelanin: These are some general reasons why a lot of Nigerians abroad are unlikely to return home:
▪︎Being Estranged from Family
The longer you stay abroad, the easier it is to lose ties with family over time. This is could be for a number of reasons, mainly being that people naturally just grow apart ... however, many of us unfortunately have a lot of relatives back home who see us as nothing but a means to an end ... there are many betrayal stories of people being scammed by called family members and even cases of witchcraft.. lol.
▪︎Inability to Adapt to the Climate Back Home
Living abroad for a lengthy period of time can make you forget how things are back home. So when you eventually go visiting, the first 2 weeks can be fun and exciting... however, by the third week, the Nigerian climate begins to become exhausting. You start to get agitated by the mediocrity and myopic mindsets of the average person around you... the culture (or lack therein) begins to bother you, the heat, the mosquitos, the extortionate fees for internet use, the lack of electricity, the fake forming of almost every young person... it just gets too much.
▪︎Health Reasons
Those with medical conditions are aware that the health sector in Nigeria is in shambles. As thus, they would rather stay in an environment where their medical needs are met.
▪︎ Introvertedness Life abroad favours the introvert. In Nigeria, people can be loud, there's not much privacy, people don't mind their business. This is something that a lot of people abroad cannot adapt to ... therefore, they choose to remain abroad.
▪︎ Papers
Some are stuck abroad because of the notoriously known complications of obtaining papers. I don't need to explain this one further.
▪︎ Children If you've had kids abroad, the thought of moving them back home can be scary as they've already been acclimatised to the lifestyle and upbringing here.
▪︎ Commitments Those who have gotten married, built a career and bought houses might find it difficult to up and leave what they have laboured for just to return home to an uncertain terrain.
Feel free to add yours. Nigeria is not as bad as you portray.. I have been away for over 8years now, and the reason is lack of electricity, thats our major problem.. Believe me many country won't survive if they don't have constant electricity... So our government need to fix that first and believe me 80percent of Nigerians abroad will go back home.. No place like home |

1StopRudeness: So what is in the lime that kills the bacteria..,?? well, lemon does not kill bacteria or bacterium.what it does is to make the body un conjucive for them to inhabit.. That's because it contains citric acid.. It's just like when a cancer patient balances his or her PH level, the cancer cell will die off naturally. This is a secret you will never be told by doctors that are on industry payroll.. Many of the diseases that are killing people today are curable naturally, well make I stop here. |

Health › Re: What Causes Sweating And Body Odour. by Notatribalist(m): 12:16pm On Sep 30, 2019 |
Dentalgist: Sweating is the secretion of fluids by sweat glands onto the surface of the skin, mainly for the purpose of maintaining body temperature within an ideal range. This happens when the body temperature rises due to physical exertion or being in hot surroundings, the evaporation of sweat from the skin produces a cooling effect.
Sweat doesn’t smell, however, one can develop an odour when the acids in the sweat are being broken down by skin bacteria. The waste products from this breakdown process produce an offensive smell referred to as BODY ODOUR.
WHEN CAN ONE LIKELY HAVE BODY ODOUR?
Once a person reaches puberty, body odour begins to occur as this is when the apocrine glands, which are located in the armpits, breasts, and genital-anal area become developed. Males are more likely to have body odour than females because they sweat more than females.
WHO’S IS AT RISK OF HAVING BODY ODOUR
Below are categories of people at higher risk of having body odour;
1. Obese People
2. Persons who regularly eat spicy food
3. Individuals with certain medical conditions such as diabetes, hyperhidrosis (People who sweat too much), etc are more susceptible to having body odour.
Body odour can have a pleasant and specific smell to the individual and can be used to identify people, especially by dogs and other animals. Each person’s unique body odour can be influenced by diet, gender, health, and medication.
CAUSES OF BODY ODOUR
Body odour is caused by bacteria breaking down sweat and is largely linked to the apocrine glands. These glands are found in the breasts, genital area, eyelids, armpits, and ear. In the breasts, they secrete fat droplets into breast milk. In the ear, they help form earwax. Apocrine glands in the skin and the eyelids are sweat glands.
The apocrine glands are mainly responsible for body odour because the sweat they produce is high in protein, which bacteria can break down easily.
Also, medical conditions such as Overweight, diabetes, gout, tumour, menopause, frostbite, overactive thyroid, pituitary gland disorders, head injury, excessive alcohol consumption, infectious diseases, etc are also the leading causes of body odour
DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF BODY ODOUR
If you have an offensive body odour and you are concerned about you could see your doctor who may in some cases prescribe aluminium chloride.
However, to curtail body odour, one is advised to;
1. Use of Antiperspirants which contains aluminium-based compounds that temporarily block sweat pores, thereby reducing the amount of perspiration that reaches your skin.
2. Use of Deodorants contain perfume fragrances intended to mask odour. Deodorants can eliminate odour but not perspiration and are usually alcohol-based and can turn your skin acidic making it less attractive to bacteria.
3. Gradual shift in lifestyle which includes;
a. Regular bathe daily with an antibacterial soap.
b. Choose clothing to suit your activity.
c. Adopt relaxation techniques such as yoga, meditation or biofeedback which can help teach you to control the stress that triggers perspiration.
d. Change your diet by reducing caffeinated beverages and spicy or strong-smelling foods which may make you sweat more or have stronger body odour than usual.
https://dentalgist.ng/what-causes-sweating-and-body-odour its when the bacteria break down protein(not acid) in our sweat that's what results to what you term body odour.. |

Davoneskay: Most people wit body odour don't know that they do. I heard that using lime to watch the armpit and other smelly parts can prevent unnecessary body odour. How true? lemon can do the job.. It kills those bacterias that are responsible for the smell/odour.. |

post=82587683: Sane Nigerians have not forgotten the atrocities committed by this evil and corrupt party supervised by the ineffectual buffon himself.........
IF APC is not the answer to our Problems, there is no reason going back to the instigators of the problem. I'm not a politician but I would do everything not to have PDP in Government in Nigeria. The greatest tragedy that can befall a nation is for her citizens to suffer collective amnesia. I believe PDP believes Nigerians have short memories, if not, Ibori would not have been included in their convention committee and Jonathan would not have been allowed to talk (He ended up indicting himself as usual anyway). For those who may have forgotten, kindly joggle your memories with the following words on marble and you will agree with me that what happened recently on was nothing but gathering of rogues. Happy reading:
1. I acted based on Jonathan's instruction - Dasuki
2. I didn't give order - Jonathan
3. I collected 350M from Dasuki for consultation - Iyorchia Ayu
4. I only collected $30,000 from Dasuki not N100m - Bode George
5. I got N4.6b from Dasuki for spiritual purposes - Bafarawa
6. I got N650M from Dasuki for my Abuja burnt office - Thisday Obaigbena.
7. I got N2.1b from Dasuki for publicity - Dokpesi
8. I got another N100m from Yuguda he didn't tell me from where - Bafarawa.
9. I gave N100m each to Odili, Jim Nwobodo Bode George and others - Yuguda
10. The president asked me to change N10B to foreign currency for PDP delegates - Dasuki
11. My boss asked me to get $11M from the CBN - Dasuki's account officer.
12. I got order from above to pay Tompolo N13B for Maritime university land. - Nimasa DG.
13. 950m was shared in my house -- Shekarau
With all this looting and many more revealed, some people are still shouting no sign of change yet, they even say it's political persecution.
But I believe, it is the right thing to do. If you believe too, send this to other people to garner more support for the fight against corruption and looting in our nation. There must be consequences for such crimes otherwise Nigeria will not develop.

Thank God we are going out of it gradually for now and we know better days are ahead. how many of them have been jailed? And how much recovered, that's why matters. |

The Old Man responded "My father was 20 years when he met my mum, and they met at the stream. So they visited my maternal home to pay bride price. After the wedding, they had sex, then my father said he gave birth to a boy named Buhari. I have 3 sisters, but I don't know their names, maybe when I get home, I will ask them. I don't care about Nigerian Youths because they prefer BB9ja instead of calling my name and promotng Ruga... bla bla bla...
The Question was "What is your name?
"The pathway to a resilient future considering that Nigeria has a huge amount of young population"
We were supposed to be the focus of discussion, not LAKE CHAD or RUGA!!!!
