exotik: ok cool. but if the obi of nsukwa was the son of an oba of benin, and from what u have posted, it shows they maintained a relationship with benin afterwards. and because agho obaseki's family/ancestors did not immediately relocate to benin does not mean others who would have been commoners would not have been moving freely back and forth across borders from both sides of the border for whatever purposes, be it for trade, religious or spiritual purposes. so thats how benin would have been "cosmopolitan"
so, since benin seemed to have maintained a relationship with these places, why is it so suprising that an oba of benin would seek the service of a "famous herbalist" from ubulu uku, even though their obi seem to be very edoid as seen in this pic?

Revolva: @Happyjoe Thanks a lot you really know it
Look Igalas have a linage with Igbos, infact there are igalas with igbos ancestry in Anambra north ask dem they will tell you so why do some igbos that dont know anything come here and post all sort of nonsense,
please google igalas ancestry and see, what wikipidia brings, igalas may be small on population but we are very welcoming, a lot, I am proud to be Oma Igala, but when ou see me you may think i am an Igbo boi, because my village is bothered by the east and edo sides we intermarry,
Its all up to yo igbos, well you guys are very industrious, that why the Attah(Father) of Igalas, want this infact Attah and Obi of Onitsha are very good friends, what has religion gat to do, with this, bleep religion, we know islamist came to change the way the igala tradition had been but dont look it like that ,
Some one google Igala, please you gonna find that the language is yorubaiod -sounds like yoruba. and most traditions of Igalas are like Igbos, the numbering of the market days and some words. Bros,am not one of those Igbos that like interchanges but if I were to do business outside Igboland the first people I will choose will be Akwaiboms,Igalas(my humble father had a very memorable relationship when he lived there and my father also speaks fluent Igala),Idomas and the Tivs. . .It might surprise some ppl that we have large amount of Tivs that settled in Anambra, especially the northside. My point is that we have a good relashionship with these groups and I will always call them my brothers. If the are giving out free lands to Igbos I will advice they(Igbos) should make sure that the c of o comes with it or better still pay some money. . .good luck! |

alj harem: I feel happy for my Anambra people, Indeed they are special breeds of Igbo, different from the rest.
Now for those insulting Ikwerri people, You people must be daf.t
1. It is not about Oil as you people think, Before oil was discoverved, they knew they were not Igbos
2. If it was about oil, Imo and abia people to would have done the same thing, I mean are you people this daf.t
3. The place where oil was discovered is in Igboland but does not mean the whole of anambra is Alaigbo
Firstly, you tried to bring disunity amongst us by labelling Anambra Igbos "special breed"! Secondly, you said it wasnt for oil that the Ikwerres opted for a different ethnic group, yet, numerious of you and your kindreds on somany occasion have started that we Igbos are claiming Ikwerres cause they have oil! Thirdly, you claimed the whole of Anambra is not Igboland, well,am sure you are reffering to the Igalas of northern Anambra who has a very tiny piece of the state that escaped being added to Kogi and you made sound like they count. You are a very poisnous animal and every Igboman here should take note. I dont know if you are yoruba but you have their characteristics! |

Its not that I dont like the fact that Anambra has oil nor that its being drilled but I dont want this oil discovery to make my ppl to suddenly forget who they were before the oil wealth came in. personally,I feel the greatest gift one can get from God is wisdom which the almighty has given to the Igbos in abundance. . .I dont want people to think we became advanced or developed because of our oil because Anambrarians has been achieving greatness and giant strides from time immemorial. I wish that whatever amount of oil that was discovered will be just enough to build the necesary infrastructure like good roads with drainages, international built standard nursery, primary, secondary university schools. We must make sure our teachers are well retrained and paid handsomely. We have to go back to the original master plan of Onicha,Nkpor,Awka and Nnewi. We must develop track and field in our state,we must upgrade our cultures and festivals to international recognition. Good hospital, better retirement plan and also welfare parkages for our seniors and the poor. Esentially, all we need is the necessary infrastructure that we have been denied since the Biafran war ended and watch go to the moon! |

ChinenyeN: Lol It was never about 'subscribing' to anything. Ngwa culture simply didn't develop that way, that's all. Ngwa was just too busy relating with groups in the now Rivers state, during the emergence of the caste system. Besides, Ngwa just didn't have those religious/social practices that gave birth to the Osu caste.
It didn't work for Aro because Aro had a saying that an Aro never tells a fellow Aro that Ibini Ukpabi asked about him or her. Basically, Aro also did not have the religious/social practices that gave birth to the Osu caste. Aside from that, Osu often formed a part of the Aro Confederacy's human trafficking. It's even said by some that Aro helped give birth to the Osu caste, by exploiting the religious/social practices of those hinterland communities, in order to procure more humans for trafficking. So go figure. Are you done ?? Now get your hands off ya chest let me tell you something. . .firstly, since you know so much about the emergence of osu and the slave trade of the Aros,I will like you to tell me when it all started!! So that we can give due greatness to Aro kingdom!! SOME PEOPLE SHOULD LEARN HOW NOT TO DISCUSS SOMETHING THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT!!! |
