Mkenya2019:
Nairobi is 4th most dynamic city in the world - and CNN claim to be fastest growing. Showing a few cranes will not change the fact. The fact is about half kenya cement consumption is happening in Nairobi. That about 4 million metric tonnes being poured on buildings.

Nairobi will beat Joburg very very soon.

Kenya will take a little while.

I see kenya catching South Africa in cement consumption in less than 5yrs.

Watch these documentaries

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bv-M3GtBbT0
According to Emporis Joburg has 357 buildings while Nairobi has 256 which means we need like 100more to catch up with Joburg's level of density and as things are right now,26 are already under construction with 6 proposed.
The same website states that only 1 building is under construction in Joburg and 1 planned.

it is not about how many kilometers of roads will fit there but how many kilometers of roads exist in their built up space .
Am trying to put things into perspective.

AfriqueDuZuid:
How many kilometers of a 4 lane road can you fit in a square kilometer? smiley
You would technically fit 100 strips of 2 lane road (10m wide) in that space. The kilometers you would cover going end to end for each road would be 100km max .

over 20000kms

Also I'm quoting figures for the entire Joburg metro not just the city
https://www.engineeringnews.co.za/article/quality-of-johannesburgs-road-network-decreasing-2017-11-09
According to this website Joburg metro has a total of 13599km both paved and unpaved as of 2017

let's be rational and divide their paved road network by all their provinces and Joburg will still have more paved road network than the entire Kenya.

Some facts are undebatable
From a simple google search SA has 750,000KM of road network 30% of that is paved which means around 225,000km . Joburg is 1,645 km² that is like 40km x 40 km .....with all the buildings in Joburg how many kilometers of road would fit in that space.?
PoliticsRe: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by NTSA: 11:41am On Oct 08, 2021
Just30:
I don't think this is something you need to be told about..

SA has over 800,000km of roads and almost half of it is paved ...

That is several times more than kenya
we are talking about Joburg not the entire SA.
PoliticsRe: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by NTSA: 11:14am On Oct 08, 2021
jl115:
the Road and Rail network in Joburg is more larger than your entire country.... Once Kenya has caught up to Joburg then we can talk about Nairobi catching Joburg
You would have phrased it like this..Jorburg has x kilometers of road network while the whole of kenya has x kilometers . Otherwise you are just blowing hot air .

Uhm yes you did mate, Historical ranges for Black Rhino, Cheetah and Wilddog.....all locally extinct in Nigeria

And SA has 30 times more game than Kenya....which probably has 50 times more game than Nigeria
Please verify your claims with a reputable source.

The bandits are mainly Kenyan pastoralist herders from the Pokot tribe. lately, we have seen increased instances of the herders armed with M-16 variant ( Norinco Type CQ 5.56,)
According to some sources, the rifles are smuggled mainly from South Sudan where they are used by both by state and non-state actors.
In northern Kenya sites of Herders carrying rifles as they move with their livestock is a common sight. The guns are often traded at cattle markets right alongside the livestock others are smuggled into Kenya across land borders.
Edit
Northern Sudan(sudan) is also a big participant in the diffusion of this weapon in East Africa, the country produce the Norinco CQ M311/5.56 rifle under the name 'Terab'
