During job hunting yesterday, I became very hungry and felt like I was about to faint in the nearest possible time if I don't have something down my stomach, having left the house without food. Normally I don't like eating outside because it's more expensive and you get less for your money but due to the level of hunger I was, I had no option than to look for the nearest place to eat.
A broke applicant, I went to the least of restaurant to eat and the least price for Garri and soup was N800, here in Calabar. Hmmmmm. Na wa o. The poor are really suffocating.
Anyways, I watched one video where Tinubu said "let the poor breathe. Don't suffocate them". Standing beside him was Buhari who was looking at him with a stern eye. I don't know why he wasn't comfortable with the statement.
Please let the poor (job seekers are in this group) breathe. Don't suffocate us the more. What is even the value of naira when the lowest plate of food is N800?

As a result, I had problem with that job. I was earning between ( 100,000 and 150,000 Naira per week ). He ruined the job.

I have cursed All parties involved in ruining my businesses.
I laboured hard to build my businesses without cheating anyone. Two brought evil counsel encouraging the principal here to not pay my money for eight months.
The main culprit out of nowhere chose to send a paltry sum after almost 4-8 weeks. I can't even recall the length of the period he seized my funds
As at when FredFrankHussle seized my money, I showed him images of my chickens dying in my poultry one by one by his actions. He didn't even blink and eye and did not even regard me.
All through out the cash crunch period, I sat down watching my chickens dying one by one and my jobs stripped from me because he was exerting the power of a demigod.
That my funds was in his hands and I could never do anything about him at the moment. And that he had the power over my other businesses.
I stand as an innocent victim. As FredFrankHussle damaged and ruined my businesses,his life however high be has climbed in life, would return to ruins and ashes.
Everything he has laboured for would become ashes if he doesn't fully restitute all my money lost in my businesses.

Let's assume it's not a skit. What did he do? His actions here are very calculated. He's not angry or even emotional. He's recording her and saying exactly what he wants the people watching the video to hear. That's not the typical reaction of an innocent black man. If someone is kicking you out of your own house, all you have to do is to call the police. The law is not arbitrary, so they won't support her blindly. But he didn't do that. He made a video saying things like "honey", "let me settle", etc. without addressing the reason he's being kicked out. He clearly seeks the sympathy of the biased African demography. The lady on the other is very upset and couldn't care less about sounding nice or pleasing anyone at the moment. That's someone who's been hurt.
Before y'all come for me, please know that no woman has the right to wake up and kick her partner out of thier house just like that. They pay the rent/mortgage together, and the lady has just as much right as the man (it's not like Africa where the man is the only source of income in many homes). To kick one partner out of the house, you must obtain a legal permission for that. Such permissions are given on the ground of abuse, cheating, etc. So whenever you see a man leaving the house for a woman without making a fuss, he must have done something that he wouldn't want to get to court. So they just give in at the moment and resort to reasoning afterwards or, like in this case, appeal to public sympathy.
I see how this video can be triggering to Nigerians who are used to having it the other way round. Y'all forget that men throw women out of the house everyday in Nigeria and nobody makes a big deal about it. The logic is, it is his house. So going by that same logic, when it is not just his house anymore, it makes sense that he becomes just as accountable as the woman.

Take the car for scanning and get the codes, that will guide u appropriately.
Also u might need to check/replace your spark plugs, MAF Sensor, catalytic converter but first step go n scan the car and get the codes.. Thanks a lot boss. Unless yours is candian, mdx odometer is calibrated in miles.
Now here are a few things to do.
1. Make sure none of your brakes are binding. Check by feeling your brake discs after about 30 minutes of driving. If any is too hot to touch, then that's the culprit.
2. Check your alignment..make sure it's set up properly
3. Keep off the go pedal. The mdx moves. It moves. Most owners are often tempted to stomp on that accelerator whenever there is a space in front of them. Resist that urge. It's a 3.7 liter V6 pulling more that 2 tons of weight. So it will burn quite some fuel to get going.
Keep your rpms below 2200. Gear changes occur at this rpm during normal driving.
Resist the temptation to stomp the pedal.
4. Learn to cost to stops rather than braking late and hard. Coasting to stops saves fuel. Stomping on the brake pedal wastes fuel.
5. Scan your car and fix the issues surrounding emissions. Tune up the car. Check your injectors for abnormal spray or stuck open conditions. Replace spark plugs if worn. Replace coils if bad.
I believe if you do all this, you will be fine.
The worst mpg I ever got with mine is 12mpg and that caused by Lagos traffic. I average 14mpg in Lagos traffic and 16mpg in pH traffic.
I have averaged 23mpg on a grandpa cruise on the highway( never exceeded 80km/hr) and 18mpg is usual on my travels.
A full tank usually gives me 280miles in the city and 360 miles highway. Thanks a lot. I am actually a newbie when it comes to cars, and I don't have much time to be involved right now, but I will use these tips as a starting point when I eventually find a specialist. Can you please refer me to your mechanic or a good service centre? I actually meant miles, whenever I mention kilometres, I converted from miles to km first. Yes, my model is Canadian, and uses miles. After reading your advice, I have found out just how well the MDX moves with only small acceleration. Even after braking, it still picks up speed without acceleration in two to three seconds. Thanks so much for the knowledge. I am enjoying the car... It's a very comfortable and performant ride, only wish it didn't suck so much petrol. Hopefully I will fix that soon. Cheers! |

I recently bought a Tokunbo Acura MDX 2007. Given its rated fuel efficiency of 15mpg for city driving, I analysed my movement and thought it was okay and that I could shoulder the fueling expenses.
However, my issue now is that I don't get up to 5mpg. I filled my tank yesterday, 88 liters to fill, drove to Yaba, Victoria Island, Ajah, and back to Ikeja, a journey of 130 kilometres and the fuel has run out.
Given the 15mpg rating, I should still have more than a third of the tank or at least half, but the tank is empty.
I have to refuel every two to three days and it's not sustainable.
Please I need suggestions on what to do. The car hasn't been serviced except for oil and filter change, brakes and tires. Why is the vehicle consuming too much petrol? |

The only reason I'm still in this state is because I'm still staying with my parents. When I eventually start living on my own, I will never stay in Lagos. Even in the future as a marriage man, I will not live with my family in Lagos.
I'd rather go to a saner state like akwa-ibom. I just love that state so much and in my opinion, it is better than Lagos especially for peace of mind and I feel it provides a better atmosphere to build oneself financially.
Rubbish  It just means that you don't have what it takes to thrive in Lagos. Lagos is as sane as you can make it for yourself. Akwa Ibom is not paradise on earth. I dated one silly girl recently.
On our first date, I took her to a fine dining restaurant, an art gallery, and a virtual reality gaming center. I spent a lot of money, if you know how Lekki things run.
Now this babe isn't jobless, she works a job where she's very highly placed and earns more than 500k per month. I know this because I have a friend in her workplace.
Now where the issue started is after we've been on several dates where I freely spent on her, she began to tell me she wants the baby girl lifestyle, as in expects her man to keep her in luxury and pamper her at all times. Told me that she's very materialistic and that gjfts and money was her love language.
She also said if she gets married she won't contribute to the household because it is the man's duty to provide everything. She now told me the story of her aunt who was a director at a very big company who used to come to their house to cry often because her husband, another director does not give her money but takes care of household bills, has built a house and pays tuition for four private school kids.
I asked whether the aunty earns well, she answered yes, she does make a lot of money for her senior position. I then asked why isn't she using that money to make herself happy? She said because the aunt does not feel valued as a woman because her husband isn't giving her money.
I held my position and said it didn't make sense what their expectations were. I also began to understand where she got her values about men and money from. That day, we had a big argument. The first in our one month relationship.

Great writing as always from Pocohantas It was five years for me. In 2020, I took a break from work. For one year I massively upskilled. Got three certifications: Product Design, Product Management, and Project Management, plus a 5-month internship with a company in the UK offered through Almond Careers in a role that combined aspects of each specialization. Prior to the upskilling, I made $$ 10-12, but after it, in 2021, I became qualified for roles that pay more than $25 per hour, off Upwork, and with benefits. Inasmuch as where someone is right now is a good starting point, I wish I hadn't lingered at the beginner level for too long. Someone who used to work on Upwork in UI/UX that I know now works in Ireland and getting more than $150k per annum just because they advanced their skills so well, got into Toptal, worked for Loom, and then a European fintech employed him mid-2021.
