Bro the waiting pass court adjournment o.... E tire me sef. But still hopeful. When are you due to resume? Today makes my application 85days, had to defer till May.

Hi, I strongly recommend that you give them a call especially when resumption is fast approaching. My little brother did apply on the 1st of Dec and when I realised his resumption date was pretty close, I rang the Pretoria office precisely on the 1st of Feb, thou it took about 50mins for the call to be answer but thank God they eventually did.
The lady I spoke to requested for details which I provided! She politely apologized and said "we are behind on applications" and of cos my response was, no worries! She went further to assure me she would forward his application for immediate review and revert ASAP.

To my greatest surprise, immigration contacted the same day and requested that school confirms a resumption extension. I hurriedly went to the school cos I am actually in Australia, afterwards, Visa was issued the next day.

As I type, my lil bro is on his way from Perth to Sydney.

Hence, I recommend this option but note: application must have exceeded the stated processing time and seen online.

Best of luck to all applicants. The phone number I rang is: +27 12 423 6060

Hello All,

If you ask me, there is absolutely no need for these quarrels and exchange of words. In as much as I appreciate every contribution on this thread, I still reiterate that some comments are unnecessary.

I presume the op is here for assistance(moral or otherwise) and if you feel you are uncomfortable with her story, rather than compound the situation, you simply wish her well and move on.

The simple fact that I personally sold recharge cards in the streets as a graduate at some point in my life, drove commercial bus, doesnt mean every other graduate should experience same.

We have all had our ups and down at some point in our lives(some are just going through that phase).

I suggest we encourage her and profer meaningful advice rather than lambaste her. If she is lying about her situation, it will always catch up with her someday but please, dont base your response on the assumption that she is lying except your are sure she is.

Cheers...

Abi wetin person wan talk, opening threads to complain about her brother and the wife isnt what she should be doing right now. Yorubas call that "alaroka". Kilode ahn ahn, Lori kini? I am not disputing the fact that we have manipulative wives (my uncle married one but when she saw that nobody cared, she changed from being bad to good and still we all cared less) but common she needs to buckle up and make herself better for her and the poor little brother. And when she gets married, she should also treat people right cos she has also been there. Simple

@poster, I have some questions for you:

(1) Kindly explain the meaning of buckle up with regards to your post?
(2) Assuming she is willing and ready to work, can she instantly get a job?
(3) Perhaps she decides to start a petty trade as a result of not finding a job with ease, can she easily access funds?
(4) Putting yourself in the Op's situation, what exactly and I mean PRECISELY would you do to change the situation(perhaps the Op will learn from the solution you profer)

Thanks in anticipation for an expected value adding response.

Pls... I really hope that am not beginning to bug the house with my plenty questions lately...
I will like to know in the personal statement for subclass 573, in responding to the part where u are asked about your reason for choosing Australia rather than your home country for studies...would it be implicating to mention as one of the reasons being that Australia government policies allows international students who wish to work for sometime immediately after graduation to do so (with some conditions tho) for a while before heading back to their home countries to pursue their goals.

Is it also ok to mention as another reason for your your choice being that it possible and leg image for students to do some part time jobs to offset some bills while studying

Pls anyone can advice... God bless y'all

Hi aceBLAZER,

Trust you are good? If you ask me, these reasons stated above are not valid(sorry for my use of word), it raises an eyebrow.

Find below what I used during my application, it should help thou individual circumstances differ:

In Selecting Macquarie University(school not country in my case), I have been influenced by the way her graduate program addresses business question(s)(Note, I am undertaking a course in Business Management so it relates to my then intended course of study) at international level. I am particularly looking forward to such course, I am also excited to interact with professors, students and counselors whose work is closest to what I intend to pursue. I have been corresponding with the University website, from where I have learned about the collaborative environment at the university where I will interact with students, teachers and industry professions. I believe that I will be able to contribute to and learn from the academically challenging environment at the university after which, I intend to give back to the larger society especially my country all that I have gained during the period of study.

Note: this only relates to the section for the reason for selecting Australia.. I narrowed mine to the school indicating the school in question inspired my decision to further my studies in Austalia.

Hope this helps? All the best.

In as much as I condemn this BARBARIC act, I am still of the opinion that our "contemporary" ladies should learn to be respectful and disengage from any act/action that could result to such..

I tell you, it doesn't really cost much to avoid pushing a man to this length, after all, she should have known his flaw(s) haven stayed with him for a while but NO, you want to challenge his authority and run your mouth @ will not putting into consideration that men have got naturally ego.

In essence, it takes a well disciplined man with the fear of God to overlook certain attitude from women of these days especially the ones with great attitude problem.

To the men out there, this is a NO... We can do better by ignoring them(women) when they get really annoying and avoid such shameful act.

Cheers.

Great job @ NNBB2012.. Very educative and informing post. As a matter of fact, I was considering coming over to Australia for studies(MBA) but this post, I am beginning to think differently.. Kindly provide me with info on the PR procedure... Thanks a million
NNBB2012:

I like people who speak frankly like you. I have had the cause to stop someone who was about investing his money in Msc route here when he is more than enough qualify for PR. He listened to me and followed the PR process and today he is here in Australia with a job. He is ever grateful that I did that.

If you have mind of studying here in Australia with the hope of staying back, you have to do at least 2yrs minimum Bsc. Your occupation has to be on the list for you to be eligible for Post graduate visa. The truth is , even with the post graduate visa, there is no guarantee that you will get the job that will help you to gain experience so that you can apply for PR. After the expiration of your post graduate visa, you have to leave the country except you jump on another course or you marry a PR/Citizen. And staying 10yrs in Australia does not automatically translate to PR. It is not given based on years of staying. It is either through skilled path, family/spouse route, Business/Investors or Refugee path. No other way please. Even refugees path is not easy these days.

My advise will be, go for PR if you are eligible. And if not, it had better to gain experience overseas than to think you could possibly gain experience here. It is really hard.

A sound of warning to people who might be coming here to study and that want to stay back. Kindly check if your course is accredited. Particularly people that want to study Msc degrees. It is not all courses that are accredited. For example, if you studied Geology in Nigeria without experience and you came here to do Petroleum Engineering thinking that you will be assessed by Engineers Australia, I'm sorry to let you know that it is not accredited. The implication is that your first degree will still be considered and since your first degree is not in Engineering, it won't fly. Generally, accreditation is done at BSc level except where your first degree is not equivalent to First degree in Australia. In that case, your Msc in the same course will be considered. These are bitter truths. I know people who happened to go back after their studies. Think twice before you invest.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS FOR ENGINEERS

I have an Australian postgraduate engineering degree, but my undergraduate degree is from overseas. Can I use my postgraduate degree from Australia as the basis for my qualification assessment application?

The assessment is based primarily on your undergraduate degree and your demonstrated competencies. Your postgraduate degree will be taken into account in that it contributes to your engineering competencies. However, a non-accredited Australian postgraduate degree alone will not meet the academic requirement to confer recognition in Australia.
Similarly a non-accredited Australian postgraduate degree on top of an overseas qualification will not provide automatic recognition in a higher occupational category. You will still have to apply for a formal assessment of your combined qualifications.
Only a few Australian post graduate qualifications are fully accredited and would grant eligibility for an assessment under the Accredited Australian Engineering Qualifications Pathway.
Please refer to the list of accredited courses available on our website.
I have limited engineering experience. Can I still apply for an assessment of my qualifications?
Yes, you can still apply. It is possible for you to demonstrate the competencies by referring to your undergraduate professional engineering qualifications and the project/work experience elements of your academic study. Applicants may however find writing the career episodes more challenging without workplace experience from which to evidence the competencies.
Please note that you must provide a certificate copy of an employer reference letter if you have relevant experience of 12 month or more, or if the work experience provides a basis for a Career Episode.
Will you accept the TOEFL, or the Pearsons Test of English (PTE) in lieu of the IELTS
No. For the Migration Skills Assessment with Engineers Australia, you will need to submit an IELTS test result form with a score of 6 in each of the 4 modules. Alternative English Tests will not be accepted.
I have an accredited qualification, but I would rather be assessed in a different discipline than the one on my degree. What can I do?
Under the accredited qualifications pathway, the outcome is given in accordance to the discipline of your degree. If the discipline does not match the content of your degree (for example, Electrical Engineering degrees focusing on Electronics Engineering), then a close analyse of the transcript will determine the appropriate occupation.
If you would rather be assessed in a different discipline, then you can apply via the Competency Demonstration Report pathway. Note however that there is no guarantee that you would be successful in getting the outcome you desire as the qualification has to contain the necessary underpinning knowledge in the discipline you are seeking assessment for.
am applying for migration to or permanent residency in Australia and need to have my engineering qualifications assessed. What do I need to do?
The first step is to read the Migration Skills Assessment Booklet to determine under which pathway you should apply. The booklet and application forms are available from the website

Hello guys, great job you guys are doing here... Pls, assess this and criticise/correct if need be:

VO: Why Point Park University?
Me: Point Park University has a specific track tailored to what I want to study, it has a good course decription, great MBA portfolio especially in International business which will be one my areas of concentration because I am currently involved in international trade(I do importation but not to be mentioned to d VO at this time), I went further to consider the cost affordabilty, location as reported by "Farmers Insurance top 20", its the 3rd most secure large metro area in the US, also as reported by "National Geographic travellers", its amongst the 20 great places in the world to experience and then also from what I read as reported by "Pittsburgh business times", from 2011 through 2014, PPU MBA was ranked 4th Largest in Pittsburgh and for me, that goes to show a great level of consistency and proves PPU has a good MBA track record....

Thanks Y'll in advance.

I strongly believe a coupled of these teenage girls are compelled to carry these explosives under life threatening situations enforced by members of BH. Perhaps, not the intention of these girls to carry out such barbaric and unjustifiable action. It takes extra courage to refuse putting on these explosives knowing the ONLY option left on refusal will be death carried out by members of BH and perhaps a more slow and painful one at that and thus, they reluctantly accept the mission...
