I have sort of concluded on getting a Highlander 2006 but stumbled on a write up where I read it has a timing belt NOT chain. This is making me have a rethink remembering what my Camry 00 did to me as far as snapping of timing belt is concerned. Infact I had promised never to buy any vehicle with belt.
Is there a Highlander with chain ? Is the 4 cylinder better ?
I ll appreciate expert advice and experience too

You will have to start from the 08 with the 2GR engine.

Belt isn't a problem you just have to budget for a timing belt replacement and adjusters including the necessary pulley. It's called timing belt kits a bit expensive but worth it.

I always wonder why Toyota venza was discontinued because of poor sales..

My personal opinion : that car have better shape than lexus RX.. Infact i love both the interior and exterior than the RX(the crossover kinda look ugly to me)

I even know a woman that had both Lexus RX and venza, she preferred the venza, and adore it..

Why the discontinuation of that beautiful crossover..

Toyota can later resurrect it once they find the right market to push it to alot of auto makers hack models not doing well to later on offer it at the right time.

You can mostly get pre 2000 model vehicles for 300k .....

Any post 2000 vehicle being put for sale at 300k is most likely a lemon, stolen, or a distress sale

So pls don't mind that nigga up there saying you can get a baby boy or 406 for 300k....He is right to the extent you can get a contraption that looks like a baby boy or 406....Aside distress sales, The major question is whether the car won't spend more time at the mechanic than you driving it ....

And if you are waiting for someone to fall into so much misfortune that he will need to sell his car to you for a ridiculously low price, then you are the 'village people' everyone is talking about

I recently bought a 2008 vehicle manual transmission less than 200k, yes I got there inspect it and told the owner all the wahala the car has and I can't pay upto 200k for it.

It's not a stolen car anyway, I drove it that same day to southwest Nigeria from Abuja a journey of 700km plus and it didn't break down on the road even once.

The idea is to know a little about cars and remove fixing price from asking price stand your ground, if seller no gree move on to the next one.

Note if you are looking for cheap cars please leave Toyota and Honda and afix your mind on manual transmission

Tell your mechanic to bleed the system, air may be trapped in it.

Check your lines to see if there is leakage highly visible on car rims check from the inside.

I don't think wrapped brake disc or pad or calipers should cause total flatness of brake pedal. But you can check.

Just stumbled on this tread today. My wife has done the business b4. I used to help out with cutting and slicing, sometimes frying and packaging.
Having said that I will like to tell u that the business is time consuming, from peeling to frying to packaging takes a whole day. The stress level is high.
I don't know the level you plan to operate yours maybe hire workers and produce in large scale.
The plantain used is not the normal plantain we buy in d market, there's a particular plantain they use for chips, it's dwarf like, and it's also cheaper. The cheaper the plantain the more gain u make. Don't forget to factor in oil, gas/coal, salt, pepper. Then we used to sell at N50 bucks. We supplied shops in my neighborhood. It's a nice business but she had to stop because of the stress.

They are same thing accessories available in each is. Different.

Toyota camry 2010 is technically identical to Lexus ES350. They utilize same V6 engine and same transmission. Some other parts are identical to a degree.

Maintenance between Lexus and Toyota is subjective but above all Lexus part should command premium price compared to Toyota.

The camry is a 2.4L engine, your major issue is the oil burn the engine is known for, has a solution though or may not occur.

The C180 is it w202 or w203 generation because some are actually 2.3L engine. A very good engine and superb fuel economy but slow in acceleration. A very good vehicle as the camry none the less

Buy any you fancy both of them are identical in parts. But I would advice the Pilot due to the transmission of the mdx is sensitive

Yes, if you use mobil 1 5W30 this year you can switch to total Quartz 9000+ 5W30 then another year Castrol magnatec 5w30 etc

I picked the Xtrail because of both reasons. Personal preference because I have used Nissan with same engine.

Corolla 03 to 07 is better than 01 to 02. 03 to 07 have identical everything except minor additions which doesn't change the appearance or fuel economy of that model year as long as they are made from same continent. Also if it's the same Engine specs in both.

A good Corolla 03 naija used start at 1M ones in good condition both interior and exterior.

You mean this car is in Lagos and going for 300k? If the price is negotiable I can hook my debtors and buy ooo.

Cheaper doesn't have to be interms of price only, you calculate other factors like

Deliver to customers

having several branches

Ability to get scarce parts

getting other complimentary parts etc

Know the market price of certain parts and see if yours would be cheaper, remember there is nothing new in what you are doing but you can still make headway if you are creative

Read a lot of review on these cars but I can’t come to reach a conclusion. I almost opted for the 08 Elantra. But I was told it’s parts are expensive ( compared to that of the Toyota’s)
