bharkarh: Dear House,
I intend going into E-hailing and 2 cars has been suggested to me which are;
1. Nissan Sentra 2005
2. Kia Cerato 2008
In terms of reliability, ruggedity, access to/ cheapness of spare parts, and also the price of the engine should an unforeseen issue surface, which would you advise I go for.
Your suggestions will be of great help in decision making.
@ Oga Nurey and others, you could as well recommend a better car.
Regards, Sentra is good and parts cheaper than cerator. Though cerator is more recent and looks better and modern. The issue with sentra is the cam and crank shaft sensor they can cause wahala in the middle of nowhere I did say buy the Kia cerator as the Koreans are trusted |

Anuoluwaosinubi: Hello house, good evening. Currently having an engine replacement for my volkswagen jetta. The engine is a 2.0 litre engine. I noticed my kazeem removed the spring attached in this picture from this part of the tokunbo engine. And when we removed it from the old engine the spring was still there. Please I believe him removing that spring isn’t right and I need your help in knowing if he should just replace back with the one from the old engine since he has already removed the one that came with the tokunbo engine or if what he did is a safe thing to do. Looking forward to your advice. Thanks. That is the thermostat I have no doubt your kazeem is about to remix the engine he would then run fan direct. But his solution is not the right thing for overheating. I hope you won't be changing engine in 2 years time |

Only the technician who did the inspection can certify it. But generally elantra is good |

eRex: Oga Nurey,
I did it on my last Camry drop light n it did touch the strut...(I had to google what the strut mean to reconfirm) n.yeap it was the strut.
In a bid to increase height I put 216/65 R15 n the back tires (when I bump) touches the strut but the front was ok. Had to switch with a fellow stoplight that used 205/65 r15
So front n back tyres specs were diff Camry rear setup is different from sienna. Sienna strut and springs are side by side, camry own is married together |
Car Talk › Re: Maintenance Tips On Cars. by nurey(m): 9:02pm On Mar 20, 2020 |
AmandaLuv: No the front tyres ain't touching the struts. I enquired from chief of this thread, Gaz before the upgrade and he told me to fire on.
My concerns are if any negative impact since front tyres are a bit bigger than the back tyres. It just occurred to me that there is no way the tyre setup will ever touch your strut they don't see eye to eye. Your issue is the spring is too small for the tyre so if your rear shocks are weak or you load the body too much the tyre will touch the car arch at any vibration. You can confirm yourself, the sienna rear struts are under not at the sides like the front |

AmandaLuv: Please someone should assist me. I bought four brand new tyres for my car- a Toyota Siena. Factory tyres were 205/60/16 but I upgraded to 215/65/16 but unfortunately the back tyres were touching the struts so I was advised to use 215/60/R16 for the back while the front remained 215/65/R16.
Please will this have any impact on the vehicle? May be my mind is playing games with me that the car is consuming fuel.
Please any negative impact on the vehicle?
Tnx You were supposed to buy 215/55/16 instead. Even the front will touch the mud flaps when you turn the steering to extremes |

How much would a 2014 Infiniti Q50 cost? Also a 2013 Cadillac ATS V6. And a 2012 Acura TL SH-AWD. Aren't you missing an A, a M and a G in your list? or you have been bought over finally |

Nameflow: is the fuel consumption better in the Nissan xtrail.. I have been following your discussion on the xtrail seems like you think it is a fantastic vehicle. What I think doesn't matter, the Xtrail is a fantastic vehicle. Yes the fuel economy in the xtrail is better than the xterra since xtrail is a tall sedan (CUV) |
Car Talk › Re: It's My First Car by nurey(m): 8:07pm On Mar 20, 2020 |
KngGezy: You are a well versed mechanic. It is very different when a first user uses such a vehicle. Honda accord has issues ranging from brake failure to shaft pulling out. In a country like Nigeria were its offroading everywhere it is not advisable to get such a fragile car. My brother I no be mechanic , I don't even know jack shit about cars before I bought the Accord. The shaft pulling is more rampant in Nigeria because fake parts are bound. But the 08 upwards Accord was immune to it. |
Car Talk › Re: It's My First Car by nurey(m): 4:20pm On Mar 20, 2020 |
KngGezy: That's the issue as far as you drive on Nigerian roads. You cant prevent the shaft issue. Honda is a mechanics cash cow. You drive on a bad road shaft can pull out on a good road. Same Accord 06 I used for 10years plus without shaft pulling out even once. And I drive in bad road and flooded area |

Alexedmund: Thanks for your contribution. but please what is the long and short of your in a simple sentence. Don't buy one fitted with 2.5L Rover engine The diesel engine may give problem in terms of part replacement, technical known how and maintenance. The 3.5L you can manage but be judicious in maintenance |

He is doing what he was taught to do, he sees money and doesn't have the goods best thing is to market the alternative to you so you don't carry the money elsewhere.
If you are comfortable with the camry its not a bad buy but if your mind is set on the Accord look else. |

DivyaRose: Oga Nurey,
Please help compare, sharan car auto vs manual. How wide apart is maintenance btw the two. It's for comercial purpose. Manual is always easier to maintain than automatic but the tiptronic automatic isn't bad either. But for me I don't have issues driving a manual in traffic so manual for me especially since it is for transportation. |

I always feel very uncomfortable driving. Check the AC/ventilation settings, you could have the ventilation in recycle settings and AC knob at heat so heat from the engine is coming in or Your firewall has holes check engine and interior firewall for rust and holes. Themandalorian: But the bleach will remove the sludge won't it? Or is too late then? You are confusing things, to get rid of sludge you have to open up the engine and sometimes dismantle it and scrape off sludge as much as you can not to use bleach to wash it down there by blocking lubricant pathways, oil pump and valves which is tantamount to engine failure. I hope you get it now. Besides you can't throughly know the sludge level of an engine until you remove valve cover. |
