seanfer:Do all the important inspection if the faults aren't bank breaking you buy. |
seanfer:it's a good car, reliable though body parts are a bit on the high because there seems to be no Chinese clone in the market and tokunbo aren't much. But a solid car all the same whether it's the Mazda variant or the mariner. They use same engine throughout the line. |
computerglobal:Them soon report your azz, 4years and 364days to go ![]() |
HeavenlyBang:His car works perfectly currently according to him. on the 3rd try the car function correctly. He also replied again that the car has not misbehaved since then. You seems to be close on the TPS thing since no revv instead of revv but no movement |
DreCharles:iberekodo, camp, lafenwa, itaoshin exterior ends of abeokuta to ikoyi is less than 100km journey that's 2hours journey or 3hours journey with traffic. Ikoyi to rad is around 30 to 40kms and it's highway driving. just book appointment for a Saturday and leave early you can even reach Lagos in 1hr if you are a RuffRyder like me. though I have not seen a big car shop in abeokuta though |
king406:Benz no offend me at all at all, nah the Benz or nothing fans dey always try to re-write history the wrong way, we have to put a check to that |
weyreypey:we have not finished,it's not too late to join |
laudate:In simple terms an interference engine gets valves bent when the timing gives way in motion or when it is not in motion and you kick the car and engine rolls. "valves aren't expensive but the job is" means each valve could cost you not more than 2 to 3k for quality but the job is a tough one, engine has to be brought down opened and dismantled, bent valves removed and Engine internals scrutinized for other faulty components like seals, engine block, piston damage if non then it has to be coupled back exactly with the right torque wrench for bolts . in other words your average Joe doesn't have the required expertise or tools for doing it. The engine though will work but won't last. |
antagonist:ewa jijo olomo eyin so mori ti ewe ti agba ewa jijo olomo |
laudate:Interference engine, timing faulty affects valves. timing chain issues were non existent in those engine year. Always ensure you use full synthetic oils for timing chain fitted engines wrong oil causes timing chain issues |
Newbreed2018:I see more Civic on road than the Elantra not because the Elantra is a bad car but it's segment to me is undefined or non existent. The accent is more of a Corolla or Civic competitor the Elantra is just a figure head. The Civic has digital speedometer, leather seat optional in a trim with a potent 1.8L engine, solid transmission and no ball joint brouhaha. Petit for a lady. I think your mama would look dashing cruising a Civic in a Civilization. ![]() |
ITbomb:you shouldn't toy with that engine, they we're basically built for non repairs especially those bought brand-new in Nigeria. I did just advice you check for sludge before using a synthetic (with bleach) because once that engine starts to show symptoms of damage it's the beginning of the end. when switching to synthetic use 5W30 or 5W40 for engine protection |
HeavenlyBang:Till then, Adios Amigo ![]() |
TY4succex:No implication, Tyre is just slimmer or narrower. |
HeavenlyBang:haba Bros stop jumping the gun, it would be a miracle if it achieves it at 5secs. but we shall be waiting at the 370z corner |
HeavenlyBang:You know nah, Las Las we go leave horse power focus on 0-62 and quarter mile nah the Koko for the matter be that ![]() |
HeavenlyBang:you want to argue Sha I will wait for you by that sweet corner, where you always enter my trap. 2020 is a few months away |
cc LeJeun, sooperrescue |
HeavenlyBang:This is for history, let it be known that the smallest engine with the biggest hp was first done by a Japanese manufacturer, the Germans won't steal this ![]() The Benz 1.6L you talking about is a V8 not something less and the Mazda 1.3L V8 for same race category was a badass. |
kingreign:I dub thee "sir doubting Thomas of Nairaland" you may rise (enlightened) as a Knight ![]()

luvinhubby:no, sienna 2000 is dextron 2 or 3 as recommended by manufacturer not type T-IV or WS. And I have used texamatic dextron 3 b4 but not in the market again reason I decided to try the Oando. |
luvinhubby:I am not attacking you but I wonder why you keep recommending Oando dextron 3 especially for a Honda baby boy with know gear issues. My experience with that oil is very bad, at high temperature when transmission is very hot (1hr driving) my gear (sienna 2000) was flaring badly and refused to leave gear 1, it was hovering between neutral and gear 1. When I reached home next day nah confirm total drain and I used Total MVLV which I can tell you is the best thing after maiyonnaise. |
kanuisagoat:wrapped Tyre, tell the vulcanizer to help you check for contour on Tyre switch the rear Tyre to the front and drive for confirmation Jack front of car up and spin the Tyre while gear at N and car securely wedged and fix you binocular eyes and watch the tyres roll, a deformity can be noticed. faulty engine and transmission seating, check your seating for damage, change as appropriate, vibration not too noticeable may be due to minor engine seating faulty. Check engine light if you have you check engine light on, it's time to scan fault may be from engine internal component or transmission itself, scan and tackle issue to avoid overblown damage |
Sportwin:The car would take several beating from the road nah, just like Anthony Joshua. Just drive to your destination and find a technician or you can look under the car yourself and check loose cables seems you entered several potholes with speed. |
Sportwin:It is not only highly illegal but criminal payment too. Stand your ground that it's a private car and you are not expected to pay a dime besides you are not an indigene of the place |
DUNKA:if you are the original owner of the write up do make corrections there are some errors there, also some hearsays manufacturer don't change engine in 10years in a model neither do they change vehicle body every 5years, they do as at when due and depending on alot of factors like continent, financial cost and competitor offering. eg Toyota sienna 1st generation ran the 1mz in it's initial release before the same 1mz was re-tweaked with VVTI that's just 3years. so many model years I can talk about what manufactures actually do is continue research and when a break through is evident to cause additional increase in Engine performance they begin to phase it out. Then talking about design manufacturer deem it fit to change it, take the 19xx accent for example the same design ran in Asia for along time Hyundai just rebadged it as Verna and sold it as recent as 2014 |
GCFR696:you have solved your issues yourself, wrong engine replacement is bound to cause issues. Do the right thing before the vehicle catches fire on motion also I don't think he bought a V6 for the 08 upwards Accord it would be more expesive than your 3.0 engine, he could have bought a 3.2 in an Acura TL 19xx or the 3.5L in Honda/Acura legend pre 2005 model years |
seanwilliam:I can see that you are total novice in vehicle and most don't see it, I doubt if you can decipher the year of the Nissan. Anyway there is something called steering lock. Meaning the ignition will not turn and the steering would lock (not budge clockwise or anticlockwise.) to solve it, slide the key into the ignition, while trying to turn the key, just budge the steering clockwise and anticlockwise continuously till the steering frees and the ignition key can now turn. If you were able to free the steering and ignition but car doesn't still start just find people to help you push the vehicle and keep the gear (manual or auto) at Neutral (N) and the car would move by external force acting upon it. you won't spend up to 2k for this just park it close to exact spot and if Daddy ask tell him the rain is the reason the car seems to move from the initial position and feign ignorance |
dapotemi:buy only 2002 to 2004 with the 5speed transmission the 1999 to 2001 with 4 speed transmission was very unreliable. but above all if you aren't bothered about space the Honda shuttle would be more appropriate the Odyssey is prone to rust and deformity. |
