No it doesn't have that issue. The city comes mostly with CVT not automatic so ensure you change fluid as recommended by manufacturer and replacement fluid should be honda recommended CVT not Honda recommended ATF.

ATF is different from CVT fluid

7th generation I don't know 1999-2005
8th generation hybrid only 2006-2010
9th generation all civic variants Si,LX,Ex etc were fitted with CVT for the US market

from 2006 it was specified that the US version was only fitted with CVT because most civic in naija are bought brand new most would be fitted with automatic

No there was none. besides only those imported from US had CVT and it started in the 2006 upwards version.

why dont you ask me same question and see my answers with pure techincal specification,

Toyota uses a one point mechanical electrical linking system, bmw benz and Co utilise multiple pure electrical systems. This system makes the Germans prone to failure on flooded areas reason the Landcruiser is the official car of UN not the X5 or Gwagon of the Q7.

Toyota engines a basic designs enabling machines to mass produce them reducing cost of production and mechanical failure due to computer generated design and testing. The Germans utilise high grade human manufacturing process driving up cost and increase in mechanical failure.

Toyota utilises bolt on body parts to reduce weight but increase in squeaking Sound but due to this joint body parts can easily be replaced when forces of mature do their thing. Germans weld together their parts giving it a strong tensile strength but structural damage are hard to replace.

No need crying over spilled milk the Japanese designs are more reliable than the Germans. cars are bought for a lot of reasons not just drivability. The Toyota supra and Nissan skyline were sort after cars due to ability to easily upgrade their engines.

Just in case it's not the car battery terminal, what else should I be looking at.

power steering drains power from engine just like the AC especially when you turn it to extremes. I would also check the throttle body could be dirty. If you notice erratic rpm during start up before car warms up have throttle body cleaned

This the the undercarriage catalyst. There is another just around the oil filter side you can easily see it from the bonnet. Close to is is an oxygen sensor like a plug with wire.

As mayor said let him check it as all indications point to faulty catalyst. We have the same engine and that plug with wire thing is bank 1 sensor 1 out of the 3 oxygen sensors I have changed that before on mine.

when I scanned it gave me a specific code relating to that oxygen sensor so I am sure you have a faulty or below efficient catalyst converter.

Normally a tokunbo catalyst isn't advisable because it may also be on extra time. I don't know much about catalyst as I have never had a car with such fault before. just send the pix as said and let find a way forward

watch out for the rusting fuel tank. that one nah wahala for replacement

Also the gear there is one parked in my area with faulty gear. As it is tokunbo you are safe but don't pour palm oil inside the gear.

I don't know if this particular ride is known for smoking as claimed by those using the SUV from mitsubishi.
