it's an ok vehicle but the engine and transmission isn't cheap. For other body parts I don't know the price

The good thing is that online schooling is not compulsory. If you can't pay, then opt out.

With what I am aware of, I don't think the students take online classes I have been home a week and I am certain if they do take online classes I would know (my sister and brother in-law aren't tech savvy) they did have asked help from me or my other sister so we will be privy of online classes if it were done. My brother in-law only told me that the school sends assignments, I don't know whether assignments equate to lost time of the close down which will effect automatic promotion.

Also the lesson they go to physically is been done by a teacher in the school, so I doubt if the teacher has time to teach online classes

Toyota Corolla has been tested and trusted, if you are comfortable with the security challenges and can mitigate against it good enough for you.

Elantra isn't bad too but body wise, the Elantra would fall apart easily compared to a Corolla. But it can be managed if judiciously used and disposed off when signs start showing.

I was opportuned to be home recently and my brother in-law was discussing with me how a certain school in Lagos asked my sister his wife to pay a certain amount of school fees.

my nephew and niece are 3 and 6 years old, still in primary 1 and 4 I suppose . they were in 2nd term and he had paid the school fees then before the covid-19 lockdown.

The children currently attend a lesson and according to him, the children receive homework from the school only via online means (I don't know the medium though). Things aren't great financially and he isn't ready to dish out money for no just cause since school resumption is unknown or still far away. His verdict was for my sister to give his number to the school authority so they can call him and have a discussion.

I agreed with the advice he gave and also told him to look at the possibility that probably the school wanted to pay teachers salary at least for them to keep body and soul together, but I was also thinking that the school should have called a kind of PTA meeting (via social media or mail) to inform/convince the parents of the reason why they should pay school fees.

please if there is any opinion of what can be done about it, I did like parents to contribute on a good way forward.

Iv made some researches and found out that the LX has 7 seats, while others (EX, EX-L and touring) has 8 seat. I wanted the 8 seaters anyway. The EX-L and touring has the vcm which many users are condemning on major forums. Please, what did you hav to say sir. I want this odyssey. Please advice

I hope the Odyssey you are talking about is the 05 model year upwards production was in 04 but model year started 05.

but the Odyssey is okay, the VCM was fitted in EX-L and touring, I Know Honda faced a class action suit for it they only elongated the warranty but no solution. but I believe there is a solution for the VCM, there is a way it can be disabled.

As for trim, it depends on you, you can get your desired trim and the vehicle may not be in a good condition. To me vehicle condition is most important, other guguru and groundnut can be added to any trim

There is 1 thing I know about the 1st generation Avanza, body falls apart after long use. I am not sure about the auto transmission but my mum's sister own bought brand-new too has transmission issues.

Avanza is a 7 seater wagon, so if you need the extra seat and space and the Avanza is in a good working condition then switch

The 2012 Camry was the first model year of the XV50.

people travel to the east in kia picanto with 1.1L engine, so a 1.8 would do it just fine.

As for fuel needed depends on the distance and vehicle condition. Lagos to Benin is around 3xxkm, if your car is in good shape, you probably will be doing 6L/100km that's around 18L to Benin. factor in vehicle condition, traffic, check point, road conditions etc you probably will be burning more fuel/100km but nobody go disturb your golf 2 for road be it police, custom or FRSC

Some people have not even entered a car with paddle shifters, so my brother as long as Camry 4cylinder and Corolla rain supreme in Nigeria, leave paddle shifters alone and start talking about fuel economy

Lexus ES350 07-12 is same thing as a Camry 07-12 V6. same chassis, same 3.5L engine, same 6speed auto transmission, suspension parts are also identical to some degree.

The Lexus is a more premium ride than a Camry, meaning some accessories and functions an ES has will not be available for Camry because Toyota is a basic car, Lexus is a premium car.

There is no much cost the Lexus will fetch you over a Camry because fanta in bottle is same as fanta in plastic, packaging is the difference
