Your first mistake is taking a jack of all trades Mechanic to inspect a BMW.

mistake number 2 is not running when you were told not to rev a car in park, it's a basic rules when buying anything used and seller starts giving rules, it's a gimmick

mistake 3 not testing the car on long distance for your satisfaction even if it's to fuel the car for testing 12k could easily fill the tank. you loose 12k instead of 5m.

mistake number 4 no warranty

Hello guys , I just recently bought a Nigerian used x6 35i about 2 days ago ,that's on Friday , the car is neat and all and it's a wow , it speeds up very fast .. but while my mechanic was test running the car , the sellers told him not to press the car accelerator on park , please does this appeals to all BMW , because the dealers were shouting "they don't accelerate BMW cars on park" ,that they only do that when it's running , we didn't raise the car , my local mechanic just looked at the engine saw that it was extremely clean , and then test drove it 3 times for a very short distance .. then he told me.the car is fine .. so I paid for it..

fast forward to when I was going home not more than an hour or 2 , on Maryland/ojota link bridge , the car stopped moving and moved into neutral , we tried putting it back to gear , but the car wouldn't move to gear , it wrote on the screen that "breaking/chassis stabilization malfunction , a danfo car brushed me in the back because of how the car stopped .. we had to call people to help us push it.to nearby place where we can park it . We parked it .. my mechanic checked the car for all possible fault but couldn't say which is wrong with it.., we waited for almost an hour before we started the car again and the car picked., But it continued showing that warning on the screen, during the hour of waiting I called the dealers that the car has stopped in traffic and it's not moving , they said they would send the bmw mechanic that usually repairs the car to come and check it .

My mechanic managed to drive it home , but while driving it after it stopped , he noticed some sound in the engine that was sounding like something was clicking , he told me the sound isn't a good sound , he said it sounds like when a engine is forcing itself to work.. I overlooked that ..

The next day the dealers mechanic arrived to check the car , one of my very good friend also came to help celebrate the new car , the bmw mechanic did several scanning , I asked him if this has ever happened to the car before , he said never , he was did all he could , then decided that it will be one of three things that's wrong with the .. he mentioned 3 , but I couldn't grab what he was saying , he said he'll order it at ladipo , and he'll come to fix it on Tuesday .. when he was about to peace , my friend jumped into the car and pressed the accelerator while it was on park twice.. he immediately called me and the bmw mechanic , that he's also hearing sounds in the engine , that the last time he heard the sound was when his corrolla engine was about to knock , that the sound he's hearing isn't a good one , the engine isn't good .. the bmw mechanic scolded me that I shouldn't let anybody accelerate the car while it's on park . He then started saying one Venus or venom makes that sound in the engine also if you accelerate it on park , because he also accelerated it also on park . He didn't denie the sound ..
Now the dealer is telling me the owner said he won't collect the car from me anymore , that I tested it with my mechanic before I took it away, that I can involve the police .

My question is , BMW owners , did you guys accelerate yours cars on park or not ?.

And please what do you think is the next step I can take ?.

You have entered one chance there is no car you can't rev on park once the engine is running. It's even a basic testing procedure of engines of cars.

The engine of that vehicle was built not to be repaired, the compressor gives way after 100k km, if the engine overheat slightly then it is the beginning of the end.

the 1.6L engine cost about 650k to replace

Mazda cx-9 is just Ford edge in another clam shell. depending on what model year the RDX is I would say

Rav4 is easier on maintenance and high on reliability followed by the CX-9 from the rear the RDX

Yes the Almera N16 is a very good and reliable vehicle once you can get pass the crankshaft and camshaft sensor factory issues

why are you stressing yourself over distance accuracy of a map? Every vehicle has a trip meter that can be used to calculate the distance from journey A to B utilize that with your fuel guage or litres of PMS bought and calculate your fuel economy.

Used about 40L of fuel from Lagos to Imo State ( a distance spanning more than 500km ) with intermittent AC use & my poor driving skills having not touched a car since I had accident in June 2014.
Papers were so complete that, at all the check-points where I was stopped by Customs & Nigerian Police Force, they couldn't hold anything against me after rifling through the documents other than asking me to celebrate the car with them.

Fuel consumption isn't calculated by car manufacturer but by engine a particular vehicle is fitted with.

A BMW 2.0L i4 shouldn't have problem doing 5xxkm with 40L that's around 7 to 8L per 100km. Highly possible

Thank you so much . Rx 350 is not a bad idea at all.. I have even been looking at USA auctions to get that .. because seems it's expensive here in Nigeria both Nigerian used self . What do you think about ZDX and BMW X6 ?. Those are SUV/CUVs too .

if I had 10million naira stashed away somewhere I would buy either of the two, since I have the dough to maintain them but you know what they say, if wishes were horses.

BMW X6 is a high maintenance vehicle best to buy as low mileage well maintained vehicle.

ZDX avoid the tech pack, high in maintenance but above all that SH-AWD gives any hardcore race enthusiast and erection when the foot is on the metal

What does "kompressor" mean on Benz?

that C240 i believe is the M112 2.6L V6 vs the Camry 2.4L i4 and 3.5L V6.

The kompressor in Benz means the engine was turbo charged.

fuel economy i4 Camry the V6 of both models have almost identical fuel economy but I have a feeling the Benz has an edge but the HP that m112 is packing is nothing to write home about.

The V6 in the Camry is the best engine among the 3, it would last as long as it doesn't overheat. The m112 is the cheapest of the engine.

Camry and armed robbers, car vandals, SARS they are like 1 and 2.

Also 05 to 07 no C240 you should focus on C280 with the M272 engine

if you want a sedan you should look at the 2013 upwards Honda Accord or the 2013 upwards Toyota Camry

For SUV probably your budget may not get it though 07-08 RX350 facelift or the 09 new gen 09 Rx, 08 upwards Toyota Highlander, if you like luxury and power 08 upwards Acura MDX

You will never appreciate the power 268hp gives you until you buy this clean title and in mint condition 2GR-FE

That’s why we have elected official and fund a government.

The only place that I have to find a solution for is my sole proprietor company and my commune.

but the masses are part of government, if we as individuals can't profer working solution that the government can utilize, then the same problem is passed down from generation to generation
