Nubian113: *let me get comfortable because this might take awhile*
Modified:
Wow. It's not very often that I get to really learn something in the romance section but today I found a blessing because like oahray I was foolish and believed that love concurred all.
That while there was love I could put up with the points the mentor mentioned.
I would let myself be devalued, delayed, deceived, dishonored and disregarded just to hear him say I love you.
Today by the grace of my higher being I now understand that love is shown and not just uttered.
*So let me grow an ancient beard and sit amongst the wise sharing kola with the op* lol. Sit with me jor *offers her kola* Foolish wasn't exactly the word for mine sha. Your level be high pass my own... Like well well |

Brugo: Women are natural psychologists. They are experts in manipulation. They want to prepare the ground so that you will react and break up with them by yourself.
Best thing is to carry face comot. Act like you can't see what they are doing. Two can play the game. why play the game when you can cut her out of your life? Saves time and energy that would have been used to pretend. |

Romance › Re: Ladies, How Would You Want To Be 'approached' On Social Media? by Oahray: 12:30pm On Apr 26, 2015 |
Hmmm... Op sorry ehn.
Were I to advise you as a friend, I'd have told you never to start a relationship on social networks. It's too deceptive a medium to start anything serious. While it has truly worked for some, they are by far the minority.
Unless you have really poor social skills that cannot be improved, I'd suggest you make your search face to face. Go out of your comfort zone, if possible, depending on what you want. If you are looking for a serious life partner, it's worth the effort and worth that time you feel you don't have. |

Romance › Re: What's The Achievement Being A Virgin? by Oahray: 11:55am On Apr 26, 2015 |
What's with the virgin bashing na? I believe it's better to keep it as an achievement than to gain a reputation as a public toilet.

Romance › Re: True Love (opinion) by Oahray: 11:43am On Apr 26, 2015 |
Teempakguy: It has a fuel? It has requirements? What you just said shows that you know nothing about love. Once you begin with the 'requirements' it just became conditional, and anything that is conditional is not true love abeg. Happy Sunday. there's no such thing as unconditional love in reality. This your opinion of love is one major reason why many marriages crumble faster than weak buildings today. Marriage mates fold their hands and wait for love to do the magic. Then when their mates find it difficult to get over their inaction or any of their foul flaws, they quickly question his/her love and subsequently, faithfulness. The fights begin. Another marriage licks the dust. Don't work on your self, keep dreaming of a love that happens for no reason at all. |
Romance › Re: True Love (opinion) by Oahray: 12:38am On Apr 26, 2015*. Modified: 12:54am On Apr 26, 2015 |
This is an overly romanticised picture of love. True love is selfless, loyal and enduring, but it has requirements. Like a fire, it needs fuel.
It doesn't just happen, else everyone would fall in love (romantic) with just anyone and everyone, including close blood relatives and persons of the same sex. The fact that we can't figure out any reason why, doesn't mean there's no reason why.
If it's up to your heart to decide, then it doesn't just happen on it's own. Not even in romance novels and fairytales.
Nice piece, only as a feel-good writ though. |

Postus Articulatus!
*pasting GBAM stickers all over post*
I agree with all of this. Every point.
When I was young, and naive, I thought 'love' was all that mattered. I thought it was heroic to overlook every flaw, in the name of love, without looking out for myself.
But now... *stroking ancient beards and sharing kola with op* |
Family › Re: Who Is To Blame? by Oahray: 12:00am On Apr 26, 2015 |
phoebe69: Why is the woman always to blame when the man cheats? Even if you serve him ur p..... y on a plate as breakfast lunch and dinner, he will still cheat. Except u are rescued by the almighty himself. that's not true. Maybe the men you know are that way, but they don't represent every man out there. Women aren't all the selfless and innocent victims you are painting them either. |
