Sharing money accrued to the federation account within the tiers of government does not require senate's approval.
Only the FG needs senate's approval if they are going to spend or raise loan out of already approved federal budget. |

Now if I were to speculate. . . . . . . . . You are free to speculate but there is nothing more trust me. We were all good jolly friends until someone felt snubbed/ignored even though we were only being careful not to act without a professional/competent institution's advice that will put his/her/their licence on the line should anything go wrong. But all of a sudden she teamed up with her well known 'enemy' who also felt ignored to attack us. When we got fed up and chose to hands off, they called us other names. We never claimed to be professional charity giver anywhere, we are just ordinary people who are willing to give helping hands to the needy, we are prone to mistake like all humans, but we have feelings and emotions too, and like all human beings we have limitations of how much we can take. The basic requirement to be admitted as a member of TeHN executive is that while you have been active on NL for years, there is no record of being accused of fraud or lack of integrity. So you can't help getting personal when someone cast aspersions on the integrity you have built and maintained over the years. |

a situation where the NNPC alone will spend N3.8trn and remit to the federal, states and local governments N4.3trn, which means NNPC is taking about 47 per cent Now this is serious. And when Sanusi was screaming this to all, they said he was lying and America will know. Now we all now know for sure that NNPC had more money to spend than The FG or all the states combined. Thank God we got rid of Jonathan, Madam Allison and Madam NOI. |

This is barcanista when he chooses to be objective and not just write to support his party interest. My friend barca, you will do much better when you decide to write always on a neutral ground.
@topic
I have never been a fan of Tinubu but I laugh when people compare Saraki to Tunubu. Politically Tinubu is thousands of miles away from Saraki. When Saraki forms his party and has 2 more states in addition to Kwara under his party then I will begin to see him as an heavyweight. Presently he is only Kwara godfather like Adedibu used to be at Oyo; thanks to Amala politics which has been re-branded by Fayose as Stomach infrastructure.
As it stands Saraki is on a dangerous ground, everyone is now dealing with him with care and he cannot be trusted by any party. Should APC expel him, I doubt he can find a home in PDP and he is not grounded enough to start his own party. |
Politics › Re: APC Crisis: Way Forward ? by OAM4J: 2:35pm On Jun 26, 2015 |
IsraeliAIRFORCE: APC is the present opposition party in the NASS and there is no end in sight to this development.
This is a lesson for a political system of winner takes all.
Nigeria will be better with parliamentary system of government. That is the reality I want APC to formally accept. There is no point claiming a majority that is out of your control. Let Saraki and his supporters form majority with PDP and allow those who are loyal and disciplined member of the party be in the minority while APC and Buhari focus on delivering their campaign promises. |
Politics › Re: APC Crisis: Way Forward ? by OAM4J: 2:24pm On Jun 26, 2015 |
IsraeliAIRFORCE: Please I beg to differ based on prevailing developments after APC won the 2015 general election.
Without nPDP joining APC, APC would still be minority and still lost the presidency.
See what a shame and ridicule the leadership of APC has put Rotimi Amaechi through that he is now being referred to Judas of Ubima.
After winning 2015 general elections, ACN and CPC decided to marginalised nPDP in sharing the elective posts and political offices while demonizing the nPDP as corrupt elements of previous administration.
Upon sensing this ugly development, the nPDP has regrouped with the help of PDP to teach former ACN, ANPP and CPC the bitter lessons of their lives.
This present development has degenerated to the extent that nPDP will stop at nothing in ridiculing Oyegun,Tinubu and Buhari for neglecting the contributions of new PDP to their victory in last elections. Does that nPDP include Kwankaso and Amaechi who are not in support of Saraki? This is just Saraki and Atiku rebellion. APC can do without them for now. |

Saraki Dogara have backers expelling dem won't make things easier The point is the party needs to know who is standing for what? who are the people with common interests? which group are in the majority in APC? And the earlier we know this the better. If the party will break let it break now so that those with common interest and purpose can regroup before the next election. If a party loses its honour and discipline then it stands for nothing.
It is better to be in the minority with honour, dignity and discipline than claim a majority that is out of your control.
If I am in charge of APC, I will tell Saraki and all APC lawmakers who are not willing to respect the party to go to hell and let those who are willing to abide by the party stand up and be counted. Then I will count my loss, accept to be in the minority with honour and discipline, and let Saraki, his followers and PDP begging to scramble for top legislative positions among themselves.
As it stands, PMB will have problem with any house that does not respect the party positions, so its better he prepares his mind to work with an assembly that is out of his control; either he finds a way to achieve his goals with existing laws or use the popularity and goodwill he is presently still enjoying to push through any new law he wants. |

omenka: Look at a thread like that is supposed to stair up a robust debate would just garner a couple of pages and then fizzle out. If this were to be a thread about a grammatical gaffe by the president, or the colour of his shirt, it would run over ten pages- goes to show what our priorities are as a people.
So ashamed. Sometimes when the facts supporting a side of an argument are so overwhelming, those debating the other side have no choice but to disappear in silence. I think such is the case of this this thread. It is visible to the blind and audible enough to the deaf that that NNPC was under the control of a corrupt mafia who had no choice but to let go with the coming in of PMB who has no interest in corrupt riches. Only a proper probe will tell us the extent of involvement or innocence of Jonathan. But so far we know that Madam Allison Madueke hands are not clean. We can only thank God and collective efforts of many of us change agents that Jonathan was not returned to power, by now they will be talking about selling the refineries cheaply to their friends. |

Politics › Re: Buhari's Government Is Dead On Arrival by OAM4J: 6:35pm On Jun 06, 2015 |
kosovo: It's a known fact that you can't continue to do the samething overtime and expect different results. It's not a crime for a nation to demand a change of government, but its a crime when that change has its foundation rooted on propaganda and politics of malus peior pessimus. Anything gotten out of emotions do not have the capacity to last. Nigerians voted on emotions and not on facts, because you can't fail with facts. My annoyance with the Buhahri's government is the plain lack of direction, which is recipe for "cluelessness". A government who got victory over 3-months ago and still clueless on its ministerial positions is completely an irresponsible government! The party who has an eye for bad things, a specialist in criticism, preaching the change mantra like the second coming of Christ can't get its acts together. Doesn't it cast a doubt on the notorious change they hanged on their neck? It is even more disgraceful that the issue of Senate presidency will find its way in the headlines of newspapers. Somebody said and I agree, those who fail to read history books are those who repeat history! This is clearly how the government of GEJ started. No clear-cut direction. It is even more ridiculous locking out the Vice-President from a security meeting. At first, it played out like one of those expensive jokes released by e-touts, the confirmation of such disgraceful act by the APC-led government was the height of all reckless-abandonment. The first thing Buhari did was to announce the re-location of the Army command center to the North-East, without thinking about the consequence. A week after the premature announcement, nothing has changed! Finally, the president kick-started a tour to other countries, literally begging for assistance to end Boko Haram, the same movement GEJ did. Of course the APC rained insult on the man, which was further re-echoed by gullible Nigerians who can't see beyond their nose. The dept of every foundation determines the height of any building. The foundation of this government doesn't reflect any change, it's a shame Nigerians will have to suffer repetition of the same events that has befallen this British experiment called Nigeria, coined by an unholy matrimony between the souther protectorate and northern protectorate. Each time I think about Nigeria, I can't help but condemn to hell the bones of Lord Lugard who raped our women, took our men as slaves and brought doom upon a people who had dreams that never were. For those who were la-phoned by the scandal of APC, do no regret, it's time for you to wake up and realize that government doesn't bring change, people do. No government can change anything, it's the people who will decide to change themselves before transformation can happen. Unfortunately, that change can't come in an entity called Nigeria, as tribalism, ethnocentrism and political jingoism has eroded the sanity of great people. Let me say again that any government who can't have its cabinet within one week is a failed government. You can build upon cluelessness and expect results. That can only be the recipie for #OnceChance governance. I heard someone said, Buhairi is scared of failing Nigerians. I agree, the APC promised Heaven on Earth. They criticized instead of helping the government. Now, they realize that criticism and governance is not the same thing! Too early my friend Kosovo. Even if he has a list of people for ministerial positions, he cannot make it open now because the new national assembly that will receive and approve the list is yet to be constituted. Though I think he should have appointed his chief of staff and The Secretary to The Government but then a week is too early to judge him. |

pendy79: The party has spoken and nothing gonna change that. The APC isn't PDP. The Presidential Primaries was hotter than this and none of the contenders disobey the party, Dogara won't want to incur the wrath of the party not even by suggesting to give the deputy speaker seat to a PDP member in an APC Dominated house.
Gbaja need no more campaign, Dogara has shot himself in the foot with his Leo Ogor Deputy Speaker ticket he is flying.
The APC leadership will treat his Bleep up. Leo Ogor is from which state? And should Dogara and his supporters refuse to listen to the party and go ahead to contest against Gbaja on Tuesday, are you sure PDP wont support him just to slight APC and payback APC for what they did in 2011? pendy79: the house has 360members and APC has about 248 members already. Only 182 turned up today and Gbaja has 154 votes out of the 160 that voted. He needs only 181vote to win. The PDP even if they gather all their NWC members won't add up the numbers for Dogara. Dogara himself will vote Gbajabiamila next Tuesday. The party is supreme. Nigeria politics is not that straightforward and a day is too long in politics. Dogara wont be sleeping knowing this result. Gbaja still has a lot of work to do, he needs to rally more people. The election will be by secret balloting so anything can happen on Tuesday....fingers crossed. |
