Says who? I paticpated in all the Save Nigeria group Rallies and Lobour rallies, infact the Police protected us from Thugs leading us safel to our destination and back. They were so polite and friendly, a group of thug hired by the other side tried to attack but the police controlled them. In lagos it was the same. infact the Last one where the National assembly was barricaded, we pushed the Police and they did not shoot, they did not even beat us with batons or sparay tear gas.
Same thing someone will say if you say they should vote, during the last LG elections in Abuja "Educated people refused to come and vote yet tmr they will say local governement chairmen are rogues, how wont he steal when he has to pay professional voters to come and vote. See long queues in Nyayna and Maraba.
Nigerias will ot even drive to INEC to collect thier voters card
I agree with you aisha.

Change will come when we demand for the right things, protest against bad leadership and ensure we have the people we want as our leaders.

In addition to coming out to vote, we must protect every single vote and ensure they count.

I used to laugh at his speeches, even though I rarely get his points

But am not finding it funny any more, especially when i realize that he alone understands his 'grammars'.

Honestly as I said before, he is living in fools' paradise.

Pls NLders, can we give him a break?

whether he responds or not, it is only to his gain or loss.

If he is using his phone to browse as he claimed, he might be having problem posting.

I was in Nigeria few months ago, and it was hell using my phone to browse, even in Lagos.

I dont understand why some are here to discourage the willing hearts.

The guy narrated his story and only asked for encouragement and prayers

People started giving him encouraging words and prayers, then came a job offer after he said he started teaching for 10k a month

with the job offer came accommodation problem and some offer to assist him get accommodation. where has the poster gone wrong or sounded deceitful?

If we dont trust the poster, cant we at least trust aisha2, who is a moderator and has an unblemished reputation here, besides, handling issues like this is her line of duty.

Thank you Aisha2, may God bless and reward your labour of love. I hope in the nearest future i will be able to offer an assistance on regular basis towards your work.

I took time to read all his past posts, there is nothing to suggest the OP was lying, his past posts only buttress his story.

Am proud of those of you giving him helping hands. You give me hope for Nigeria, that you could offer him help not minding his tribe/ethnicity.

I wait to read the final story.

Am happy for the Egyptians. But till date Saudi still permits 10yr old girls to get married.

Why making a big deal out of this?

There are fraudulent people everywhere.

If you leave your email on  public forums, Nairaland or any other, expect that some people will want to use it for their foolish gain.

I got lots of junk mails likes this and unsolicited adverts, but i dont even bother to read them.

Take it or leave it, you can only dupe a fool, a greedy and someone who is trying to reap where he had not sown.
PoliticsRe: Haliburton:obasanjo, Atiku, Kupolokun Got $74m – Okiro Report by OAM4J: 4:29pm On May 20, 2010
Sky Blue:
This thread was about the Haliburton scandal, it was amusing how easily people were ready to bring Ibori into the equation, and then claim government is paying too much attention to Ibori when ordinary people seem to be the one doing so. If you want government to pursue OBJ and co then what has that got to do with government going after Ibori? Why make things unnecessarily complicated and then claim someone else is obfuscating issues? Was Ibori mentioned in the article? So who is being sensationalist here? Who is the one confusing issues? Why can't we just urge and push government to shine the spotlight on the haliburton issue? What really was the point of bringing in Ibori? Gosh! Armed robber is caught by police tomorrow and someone would bring in Ibori. Putting pressure on government to also focus on pursuing other cases does not mean less focus should be shone on Ibori. Ibori should be left to his fate, if he has nothing to hide he should be prepared to defend himself instead of waiting for another corrupt AGF to be in control before returning to Nigeria. Each case should be argued on its own merit.
Thank you.

But i doubt he will get your point. He opened a thread in defense of Ibori, https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-444610.0.html

We tried to educate him that inspite of the selective/incompetence approach to the issue of fighting corruption, Ibori does not worth defending, unfortunately he didn't get it.

@OP

I dont wish to be younger, I only wish I have achieved more but am still grateful to God for where I am and am learning to be contented.

I realised that no mater the level you are you will always find your mates who are better than you and those who also wish they are like you.

Bottom line, if you are comfortable and making progress however little, enjoy your life, be thankful to God & be contented.

@sagamite,
what makes u think the death of ibori will bring solution to the nigerian problems?
Nobody says the death of Ibori is the solution to Nigeria problem. But does that mean Ibori should be left alone?

chidichris:
apart from ibori, who else do u think is corrupt in nigeria
of course there are many corrupt Nigerians nobody on this thread had claimed Ibori is the only corrupt Nigerian

chidichris:
every nigerian is a criminal and in our own words, we call that smart.
it is very unfortunate that most crimes in nigeria are committed using english language.
I agree there are many corrupt Nigerians, but I have a problem with your claim of every Nigerian being corrupt.

Have you studied the life of every Nigerian to arrive at that conclusion. Intellectuals/wise people dont generalise like that.

You have no fact to support that claim. If only you know my father and many other honest Nigerians I know, you will not make that claim.

chidichris:
do u think a corrupt aso rock will bring sanity to nigeria?
do u know any politician in nigeria that is not corrupt?
May be aso rock will not bring sanity to Nigeria, may be their corruption fight claim is just a propaganda, may be all the politicians are corrupt

But how does the truth of the above justifies defending Ibori?

what exactly is your point? because you think everyone is a crook/guilty and the justices system is insincere/partial/selective

therefore Ibori and all the criminals caught should be left alone?  huh You see why we think there is a problem with your reasoning.

PoliticsRe: How Zik Scuttled His Own Chances Of Ruling Nigeria by OAM4J: 3:19pm On May 17, 2010
mekuszyx:
NCNC_NEPU Alliance scored a total of 2,595,577 votes to capture 73 seats. The Action Group_UMBC Alliance scored 1,922,364 votes to capture 73 seats. The NPC scored a total of 1,992178 votes to capture 142 seats.

It may be said that Awolowo showed bad faith or extra smart politics by offering simultaneously to the NCNC and NPC the option of Prime Ministership in an alliance with the Action Group provided he could be made Minister of Finance. Zik could have accepted Awolowo’s offer and became the Prime Minster, but considering the threat which the NPC had expressed that if the Prime Ministership did not come to the North, they would stop Independence on October 1, 1960, he patriotically sacrificed the opportunity.

He said that his primary objective in the nationalist struggle was for Nigeria to be free and independent. Indeed he reflected this in his speech after being sworn is as Governor_General when he said “consumatum est”.
If he had not made the 'sacrifice' possibly Nigerian independence would have been delayed by one or two more years. I guess Nigeria would have been divided or remained together better than it is today.

and the civil war would probably not have happened. Today we still suffer from that hurriedly put together independence.

If the account of 1978 is true, he only has himself to blame and the eastern Nigeria should stop making the claim of marginalization, cos it means It was Zik that threw away their golden opportunity.
