I dont enjoy the unruly ways you have been attacking each other in this forum. why dont you apply wisdom when criticizing? Do you know the calibre of people you have been talking rashly to? Have you met them before? I advise you all to slow down the pase of your exuberance. The mature ones in the house can never write without considering its implications. JUSTWISE, HADEXMAN, NEWBEGINS, ASIWAJU, OAM4J AND OTHERS BE WARNED! IF YOU DONT CHANGE YOUR WAYS I MIGHT BE FORCED TO VISIT NAIRALAND HOUSE AND ASK YOU TO BE REMOVED. You can't play politics in Nigeria like this. You will run into trouble. They will hold you by your words! I cannot help laughing sir. Elder, Colonel Wale Adeyiga [s]a.k.a Walesman. mr adeyiga: I have been feeling uncomfortable with the unruly ways of operation in this forum. I am a retired colonel(68years). I didnt want to write before but i noticed that if i dont correct most users here because they are young, their future might be jeopardised based on carelessness. I think the moderator of this forum is too lenient. You sit behind and watch users behaving in an uncomfortable way. Dont you go through posts and screen them? I have noticed some users who just come on the board and post without thinking! The likes of: JUSTWISE, NEWBEGINS, ASIWAJU,OAM4J,MRCRACKLES,HADEXMAN and many more. Even if you have anything against your fellow posters, you just dont come out and transfer the aggression to the board. I feel uncomfortable reading from you guys. what i see often are words like: scammers, thief, get lost, bastard, you will rot in hell etc. This shouldnt be! If you need to accuse or criticise, do it constructively. what you guys have been writing does not speak well of you. you guys are future leaders and you need to learn what it takes to stay at the top. you can be at the top and lack discretion. Please, for God sake, leave every poster alone and mind your business. All users here should be wise enough to know how to deal with others. MODERATOR, take note of this please. If there are no changes, i might be forced to visit nairaland house and ask these persons to be removed indefinitely A WORD IS ENOUGH FOR THE WISE! I cannot help laughing sir. Jarus: Having read over 30 of SLS's articles, I'm not surprised. This is vintage Sanusi. This is all he has lived for, and he hasn't dropped it, even now that he's part of government. One thing I infer from his write-ups is that he doesn't care whose ox is gored, he says his mind.
Imagine criticizing an author right there in his presence, openly stating his opinion at an avenue where many people 'lick ass'(to use nairalanders' favourite word), openly disgreeing with other panelists.
I also share the view that it is wrong to blame Hausa/Fulani for all the woes of this country. Nigeria's problem knows no tribe.
This man has guts. The following statement by Sanusi should be very instructive to those accusing him of some northern agenda:

We talk ethnicity when it pleases us. It is hypocrisy. You said elections were rigged in 1959, Obasanjo and Maurice Iwu rigged election in 2007. Was it a Southern thing? It was not

I think I am beginning to like this man for his guts. He is directly (not indirectly) telling his boss Yar’adua that Obasanjo and Maurice Iwu rigged his election. At least let’s give him some credits. I don’t know how many people in Government today have similar guts. |

Please don't bring in any more cars - especially luxury cars. There might be some money in it now, but there is a lot of competition and I don't think the "boom" will last long - unless you are bringing commercial vehicles. Good, at least Michellin89 has given us some clue to why those who are neither Christians nor Muslims still got married. I appreciate her honesty.
But for the majority who are Christians and Muslims, they got married because 1. God does not allow them to have sex outside marriage 2. of what friends and family think and say.
I have this strong feeling, that If today, God permits all married to divorce, and God declares sex outside marriage right, 99% of those married now will not marry again and more than 95% of the people will never marry. |

dajoaneke: As a guy, i must have to say this; Being quiet is boring and girls want guys who can keep good interesting company. I'm quite when everyone wants to give their opinions at the same time, but talk funny and sensibly when i feel the enviroment need not be dull,, (guys, thats my secret for drawing your girls attention + my handsoeness= GAMEOVER) No, quiet guys are not boring; they speak when necessary and they speak reasonably. You might want to do a little research on them, my findings the last time I checked is that, they seem to attract the curiosity and attention of girls more than the lousy guys. After all the noise and baseless jokes of all these lousy guys, a quiet guys most of the times wins the day and the girl with few sensible words. Somehow many girls tends to think they are more serious than the lousy guys. |

Be reminded that eggs mixes with water and becomes milky which may block your vision up to 95% and you will forced to stop on the road side allowing the robbers an opportunity to rob you. God forbid!! No matter what you do, DONT STOP!!! Try to see through the side window of the car and drive on to a safe distance before pulling off the road to wash the windshield. This is a new technique used by robbers(Then M'F**KERS). The Lord will surely see all us through this period safely and shield us from all evils, Amen. Pass on the warning. Good advice! |

Thanks for the update bro. Am interested in this. Just don’t give up. Please let the sender also put pressure from Naija end with continuous letter from the lawyer. like I earlier suggested, let the sender also hint them that he might take the matter to the court of public opinion, involving the press. Trust me they hate scandals and hate to be in the news for the wrong reasons.

OBVIOUS: People will get married anyways because they want to love someone. Its part of their life purpose whether the person changes or not.
In this day and age, If people can't take ordinary friendship seriously---- how will they take marriage seriously---- Both parties need to understand the importance of marriage and the main reason why they are getting married. People need to stop marrying simply because of what others think. Sorry, what is the importance of marriage that cannot be achieved in friendship? |
Family › Re: Why Do We Marry? by OAM4J: 7:58pm On Nov 19, 2009 |
What is most common to man is change. People change, opinions change, desires change, feelings change, ambitions change, and goals change. Whatever reason you have for wanting to get marry can change, and then what happens to the marriage? All the people who are divorced now or tired of their marriage used to be best of friends and lovers, what happened? They change!!! Trust me apart from God saying it, it aint worth it. |

Ejadamen: Ah but that is your opinion I think it is worth it. Don’t get me wrong, I believe in God too, Because God says it, it worth it. Who am I to question God? But what I am saying is that, If God has not say so and if it is not a sin to have sex outside marriage, then marriage aint worth it. |
Family › Re: Why Do We Marry? by OAM4J: 7:14pm On Nov 19, 2009 |
Ejadamen: @ OP, why do WE marry is a difficult question to answer because you are asking for a general answer to an individual question. I think a person can only say why they got married/they want to get married. General answers like societal expectations etc have no bearing on this as marriage is an individual thing. Also there is nothing on this earth that is not abused so looking at people who are making a mess of their marriages/families should not rule out marriage as an institution. One cannot just say it is better not to marry, what of all the people who have wonderful marriages. Marriage was working once, that the negatives are now outweighing the positives means that something has gone wrong. It's like saying it's better not to have kids. That being said, this is MY answer, MY opinion and why I got married. I got married because I love my husband, I desired to live with him, have his kids, achieve our dreams and share our lives together. To do this I needed to get married as God has declared in the bible. Yes I am religious with no apologies. Others might be enjoying all this without "getting married" but to me that would not be right. And so far it has been working just fine for me. So I did it for myself and because God said so. The highlighted to me is the reason why you and many people are still getting married. And I know so many people are very religious. Honestly remove the highlighted, I don’t think it worth it. |

I understand your take on this, and quite frankly, if the tables were turned, I'd be saying the exact thing you just said. But love happens! I know I'm a very smart young lady - bookwise and streetwise but like I said, love happens! We can't always pick the people we fall in love with now, can we? The priest is just a man like any other man and being a priest is just a job he does. If you only knew how deeply we care for each other, you wouldn't be so quick to pass judgment. So what do u want to do now? He can’t marry you and remain a priest and he is not willing to stop being a 'priest'. Well you can remain his mistress for life if that is ok by u. As for the engagement, just don’t go ahead. |
