I think the man shd evaluate what the woman worths and buy based on that . . . . grin
That will cause serious katakata o, before she starts asking you ‘is this all am worth to you?’.

I will say consider you income and other expenses you both have.

BTW, Fhemmy have you bought one before?
FamilyRe: Why Do We Marry? by OAM4J: 2:51am On Nov 19, 2009
Fhemmy, I doubt if many people here understand your question. The more I think about it, the more I realize that many of the reasons are just not real, except for some religious and societal values. (like it’s a sin to have sex outside marriage and your parent wanting you to get married)

The only tangible reason I see here is that marriage gives u some legal right over your partner to do whatever you like with him/her which again can be interpret as bondage depending on who is loosing out.

My Conclusion: remove the element of religion; it is better and safer not to get married.
FamilyRe: Why Do Married Men Run After Young Girls? by OAM4J: 2:26am On Nov 19, 2009
Fhemmmy:
If that is the case, how come some girls in western world are still dating married men?
You can ask that question again bro.

I don’t think its all about money and sex, sometimes it’s about some uncontrolled affection overstepping boundaries…. too much grammar

Some of these shits just happened and you just can’t give all the answers. undecided

CelebritiesRe: Omotola Is The Greatest Nollywood Celebrity Of All Times by OAM4J: 11:19pm On Nov 18, 2009
Alxmyr:
She is definitely not the greatest nollywood celebrity of all time. She is good, no doubt. She does not even have the fame of Genevive. Nor the maturity and experience and panache of Joke Jacob. She does not interpret role so much as Idowu Philips (Mama Rainbow). Would you stand her beside Sola Sobowale in commanding theateric the stage? Not to talk of other male acts. She is good but to be the greatest of all time, you need more than sexy body, beauty and youthfulness.
I agree with you 100%. But Omosexy (Omotola) is great and unique in her own way. Don’t think we can count 10 Nollywood Celebrities without mentioning her.

IF SHE IS CONFIRMED POSITIVE AND U NEGATIVE, THEN SHE MUST HAVE CHEATED ON YOU, THEN U WILL BE THE BIGGEST FOOL ON EARTH TO GO ON WITH THE MARRIAGE WITHOUT OUT CONFIRMING HER INFIDELITY STATUS. IF IT HAPPENS AS A RESULT OF CUT, THEN U CAN MARRY HER FOR LOVE. SHEERS
Kai, I almost can’t believe that there are still people like you who can hastily jump into this kind of conclusion, despite all the education on AIDS out there. HIV virus is not only gotten through sexual intercourse. There are lots of other sources. Pleeeeeeese.

OP.
I can’t wait to hear about the second test. I know someone who was tested in such way but was later confirmed negative at LUTH. I just pray yours turn out same.

If you choose to live with her, I can I assure you, you are not the 1st. both of you should go for counseling, there are ways out, especially for you as a guy, you both can live happily, you remaining negative and your children negative too. It is true.

PoliticsRe: Diasporians Are Sad When They See Happy Nigerians: Why? by OAM4J: 8:25pm On Nov 18, 2009
Jaybee2412:
@posters and all his supporters
Before I go on, I would like to make it clear that I am a full blooded Nigerian though I hold a British passport. I am as patriotic as anyone living in Nigeria. We really need to use this forum as well as other similar fora to engage ourselves in meaningful discussion on how to make Nigeria a better place for all of us to live. Nobody is happy in deriding Nigeria or all our people living there; its only fools who will jump into conclusion rrhat by critising those in power and who are responsible for the precarious situation in which we are will condemn us for speaking the truth. Or perhaps the poster is one of those in power disguising as a nairalander. I have three of my siblings living in Nigeria, all graduates, all unemployed, and you are asking me not to rebuke the system that refused to do anything about their situation. I work 16 hours everyday to be able to cater for them and our ageing parents back home. If most Nigerians back home should be thinking like this poter, it means the psyche of the average Nigerian has been systematically destroyed by our political and religious elites.
ogajim:
The poster is deluded in thinking that any criticism of Nigeria and it's bad political/business/religious "leaders" amount to unpatriotic and don't see how he can have "support" among any well meaning NIDOs. Why not stay put in Nigeria (to manage your legal investments)if you really love the place so much as you claim or you're scared or robbers/kidnappers/NEPA? No matter how well we make it "outside", we are still Nigerians whether we like it or not so for someone who appears to be doing nothing in the UK, now I see why you really can't get the passport because your "Nigerian business" might not count there  grin grin grin grin I represent Nigerian all the way but can't stand the folks that has brought it down plus I have to support folks there too like most of NIDO, the fact that you don't have no one to support in Nigeria is fishy at best  lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed This emperor has no clothes!
What more do I have to say. Guess the above 2 posts have said all that is in my mind. I am as Nigerian as anyone living in or outside Nigeria. I am concerned about the state of Nigeria because Nigeria is my country. If I criticize anything in Nigeria, it’s because I desire change. I will love to retire into Nigeria of my dream, die and be buried with my ancestors, and hope that my children will forever be proud to be called Nigerians.
PoliticsRe: I’m Alive, Says Maryam Babangida by OAM4J: 7:50pm On Nov 18, 2009
I do not wish her dead (if she died she would have cheated human justice) though I also believe in Dele Giwa statement that “Every man's inhumanity to man will certainly be punished, If not now, certainly later, If not by man, certainly by God

I am equally amazed at the fact that none of those supporting her and her family denied the evil they committed, except that they want everything left to God. What about those who are hurt but do not believe in God?

I believe in God, but I also know God forgives only those who repent of their sins. I believe in forgiveness too and I can forgive her and her family, but too bad, they have never acknowledged they did evil to me & my country not alone apologize. So can somebody convince me why I should forgive someone who has not sought for my forgiveness even when God demands that?

A GUY need need to be smart not too quiet. for me i wouldn't want my guy to be quiet but rather he should be smart at all times. not dat i will take him for granted if he is quiet, i like guys dat are smart and agile cos quiteness can result to dullness. kiss
Many quiet guys are smarter than you think, cos they think before talking and acting. Being quiet does not necessarily means being dull.
PoliticsRe: Does Nigeria Need A Deliverance Or A Revolution? by OAM4J: 6:32pm On Nov 18, 2009
We need a total reorientation of our way of thinking. We all behave as if we do not know the difference between right and wrong.Religion is not the issue as we only pay lip service to Religion. We attend places of worship just to belong and be seen, but deep down we worship other gods.
We are cowards.Who is that hero that would lead the Revolution or perform the deliverance. The leaders are polluted, the followers are equally polluted.
My suggestion is that we should rescue all babies below the age of 5 and send them into isolation for proper training and preparation to take over the country in the next 2 decades. All others should be sent to detention camps where we would learn rudimentary social skills like courtesy, discipline, fulfillment, love, temperance, tolerance, respect for each other etc.Once it has been determined that we have purged ourselves of the characteristics of greed, envy, nepotism, tribalism, laziness, reaping where we did not sow and all other similar vices, then we could be declared fit to re-enter society.Even if it is 10% of our population that can scale this hurdle,so be it.
Come to think of it.

Can you sleep in 2 beds at once?
Can you be in 2 houses at once?
Can you ride in two cars at the same time?
Can you eat for 2 in one sitting?
We drive furiously on the roads without courtesy to others, yet we arrive late for our appointments.
We are really a special class of homo sapiens.
SO WHAT IS IThuhhuh?
WHAT IS WRONG WITH UShuhhuh?? cry
I agree with some of your views, about Nigerian attitudes, but your solution, as beautiful as it sounds, it is not realistic or practicable in Nigeria especially the highlighted part. My view.

Let's give Practicable suggestion.

The idea of sending buses, cars down to Nigeria is good, but then I have to depend on someone I can trust to sell and send my money. The issue here is, with my past experiences, its difficult to trust, even relatives.

No2Atheism:
Please what is the meaning of "spiritually lost in the spirit". . .
To be lost in the spirit, is a state of being overwhelmed in deep worship, when you loose consciousness of realities around you; worries, desires and issues that clouds the hearts of men and you are totally focused in appreciating God’s majesty, sometimes with tears, kneeling down, rolling on the floor or just being still as if you are all alone with God.

It takes someone who has been there to understand it…. I know what she is talking about.

My point remains, that the poster has been unfair. There is no way it will not hurt, that is why the poster should have done his investigation b4 poking her. For God sake he has just added to the unfair tales of the girl.

Poster, Just tell her the truth; according to the investigation you carried out on her, she has been disqualified. Then manage whatever comes out of the announcement including your conscience
